Relationally, the Fruitful Vine Is awesome. I loved being able to connect with my midwives! Medically, I was severely disappointed. I was referrred there by someone who was a patient years before. We had hoped for a home birth. I was told to fast for my glucose test and naturally had a headache that morning because of it.. I also mentioned some soreness under my rib. No high blood pressure nothing else, and they tested me for preclampsia, received the test results back, told me that I DIDNT have it, but it COULD change, so they sent me to the hospital where I was reassured they would send my patient file and paperwork. I showed up to the hospital and no one had any of my information. I spent money to be hooked to a machine for 6 hours and the staff at the hospital was confused as to why I was there. I then went to the Fruitful vine for my follow up two weeks after this where my midwife asked me,"do you have preclampsia?" Something that they should have already known. She also mentioned, btw, you have a UTI based on the blood results we received two weeks ago." THEY KNEW I HAD A UTI FOR TWO WEEKS AND DIDNT CALL ME. THey then proceeded to take my blood pressure at that appointment, where it read 140. After using THREE different blood pressure readers, they concluded that the reader was BROKEN. Professionally the place was not great(really dirty and messy) and not great medically. Sure, 5 stars for caring midwives but at the end of the day we needed a midwife that was going to take care of me and my baby medically.

We had an incredible experience with Sharon and her team of midwives. Everyone was professional and gave us outstanding care. I m saddened to read some of the negative reviews on here because that wasn t our experience at all. I had a home birth with Sharon, 5 months ago, and had an amazing birthing experience and welcomed our precious baby boy. It was incredible to be at home. Sharon is incredibly knowledgeable (she s been doing this for so long), and I felt supported and encouraged throughout the process. The most important thing to me was having a midwife with loads of experience and expertise, and of course someone we felt comfortable with. Sharon and her team were that for us. I am so grateful for their care!

lazy, careless and unprofessional. took them over ...

lazy, careless and unprofessional. took them over a month to get my insurance in order when they state "only two weeks" I have to call them address it, repeating information they already had on record.
when you go in for your appointment you check your own ph result and weight then tell Lori Lee at the front desk, when I ask her why she doesn't check the ph and weight to confirm she said, it's to make me educated but my own health. So when i ask her to educate me on the ph strip for what each color meant, she told me not to worry and my result were normal. Doesn't really answer my question but whatever I think the truth is she doesn't want to get up from the desk.

I can deal with those things they're minor, sadly it got worst.

at my 28 week appointment when I was told I would get my glucose test and the appointment should take around an hour. I got a call an hour before my appointment asking to come in early since a mother was in labor. I arrived at 9:30 ( appointment was at 10) the midwife was completely oblivious to my glucose test needed to be done, but was able to set things up and make it happened drank my grape juice and was told to be back but 10:55am to have my blood drawn. I came back at 10:50 and told the Lori Lee and anther women at the front desk I was back and needed my blood drawn in 5 mins. I was informed they'd tell the midwife i was back and to wait in the lobby area. apparently the two never got up from the chairs and just kept chatting (lazy) to where the midwife comes out looking for me thinking i'm late! Doesn't draw my blood till 11:25 which was a complete waste on my time because now the result aren't even accurate.

now the icing on the cake for those mothers that are Rh- listen up!

again i'm 28wks and also Rh- my husband and my 17mo old twins are Rh+ meaning i'll need the RhoGAM shot to protect the baby I am carry. They DID NOT have the shot there and ready for me, in fact they only call in the script and YOU drive and go pick it up to only have to schedule another appointment with them just to they can stick you. Yet the NEVER called in! ( again lazy and i was also informed that other birthing center will have the rhoGAM shot ready for you by 28wks, smart.) Since I was upset the midwife told me i could chose the pharmacy I will like to pick it up at, so i wouldn't be wasted my time and gas driving downtown to memorial where it's normal filled. After being told it was called into a Walgreens and would be ready for pick the next day ( a Friday) , I call the walgreens to confirm yet only to hear they have no record of it! So they called it in again on Friday. I called the walgreens to confirmed it was done correctly this time and what went wrong. they said Lori Lee spelled the name out "Jessica Robinson" which is NOT my last name! and the script will not be ready for pick up until Monday now. So now i'm having to pick up the script today at memorial and giving myself the shot since the office and closed and I don't trust these careless women.

Get more or better staff and learn how to communicate!!

I gave birth with all 3 of my children with the Fruitful Vine. The first two at the birth center and my last at home. The midwives supported and educated me every step of the way without being pushy or passing judgements. They offer professional knowledge but also make it clear its your body and your baby. They knew how to handle any bumps along the way and made sure I was properly cared for. At anytime during birth I felt unsure or unable, they were the biggest cheerleaders to help get me back on track. I recommend working with midwives if possible for an empowering birth experience.

Fruitful Vine gave me the confidence and strength ...

Fruitful Vine gave me the confidence and strength to know that my body is capable of birthing my baby in the healthiest way possible. Sharon has been delivering babies for over 25 years and I trust her implicitly. My sisters and I have had 10 babies with Fruitful Vine. Had it not been for Sharon's complete and total devotion to her patients, my little niece would have died. Sharon made the call that saved her life, she goes above and beyond for her patients on a daily basis. I love her sweet, caring, and genuine nature.

The staff is incredibly efficient and knowledgeable. Lori is always one step ahead and incredibly caring and warm. Even when she's busy she takes her time with you and let's you know that you are what's important.

2 weeks ago I gave birth to my 5th baby with Fruitful Vine, I can't imagine a more ideal birth. Sharon soothed and lovingly guided me through the birth of my little boy. I am eternally grateful for Sharon and Fruitful Vine for empowering me to have the best births possible, I know I could not have done it without their support. I love all my experiences with them and wouldn't trust anyone else. I highly recommend them!

I started to like it at 1st but then I noticed every appointment there was a different midwife, they even had students who had no idea what they were talking about, the waiting time went over an hour and the icing on the cake was when I went into labor I met sharon at the office & she didn't even believe I was in labor her exact words were " I've been doing this for over 20 years & I know your not in labor" she told me just to go home & I couldn't believe it I experience giving birth before & I know what it feels like, the only reason she said that was because I'm a black young woman married to a white man (which I've learn she disapprove of interracial relationship from others who experienced the samething) & she went out that night & got mad at me for making her leave a party. I ended up wasting $1000 from paying out of pocket for crap they said I need but didn't use at all smh DON'T GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN AN INTERRACIAL RELATIONSHIP

I can t speak highly enough of everyone on staff at Fruitful Vine. I transitioned to a home birth at 34 weeks because of COVID-19. They were nothing short of accommodating and wonderful. Lori was always professional, patient, and kind whenever I had any logistical questions. The care provided by the midwives was compassionate, thoughtful, and thorough. Giving birth to my son during a global pandemic could have been a completely different experience for our family. But they, specifically our attending midwives Serena and Heather, helped to make it a safe and sacred one for us. He was born peacefully at home on June 5, 2020. They helped me to achieve the water birth I have always wanted. It was perfect and an experience I will always treasure. We are so thankful for Sharon and the entire FV team!

So, I fell into an insurance gap... COBRA had ended...and regular insurance had a 90 day wait (actually closer to 120). I spoke to numerous OBs in the area--and they all wanted me to cash pay as if I would never have insurance--$5000 or so per OB. I didn't know what to do and a friend suggested I call Fruitful Vine. I had been taking my kids to Progressive Pediatrics for over six years--so I knew the name, but never had used them. After talking with her back-up OB, Sharon did agree to see me until my insurance kicked in for a very reasonable fee. I was/am high-risk...so it was so nice to not have to go at it alone for the first 4-5 months of my pregnancy. The care I received was top-notch--and the caring couldn't be beat. I'm only sorry that I can't actually deliver with Sharon at Fruitful Vine.

All the Midwives at Fruitful vine are incredible people with big hearts. They make your pregnancy and birthing experience so beautiful and smooth. They are there through every month of your pregnancy journey and go above and beyond in every way. Being able to have a home birth and do everything the natural way is amazing. The midwives are extremely experienced and have delivered hundreds and hundreds of babies. These midwives are so great in helping you know you were made for this, that your body is designed for your baby, that pregnancy is not a sickness, that giving birth is beautiful and YOU can do things naturally. I am beyond blessed that we have such an amazing option for home delivery on the east coast.

These ladies are disgusting. They didn't even wash their hands before they checked my sister during her appointment. Not one lady appeared healthy, and the place was dirty and run down. Thank God we found more professional midwives. Make sure you ask to see their certification If you choose to go here.

I am not originally from Florida, and birth center...

I am not originally from Florida, and birth centers are somewhat a taboo where I'm from. I found Fruitful Vine online, and met with them in the beginning of my pregnancy because of severe morning sickness. They were able to take care of my medical needs, and communicate all lab results with me at the following visit. During my prenatal care I met with all 3 midwives, Tara the most (and she is amazing.) When I delivered, Rachel ended up being on call. Even though I wasn't as close with her, I had an amazing birth experience. I am so happy that Rachel and Heather were there with me during the labor and birth process. I truly don't think I could have done it without both of their guidance and cheering me on. I am very happy with my positive birth experience and prenatal care I received at Fruitful Vine and would highly recommend them.

I love Sharon and the whole staff. I love the feel of the place. We are aligned in our birthing beliefs. They took care of me when I was hemorrhaging with my first birth and knew exactly what to do. Ive given birth under Sharon with my 2 kids and hope to have her on call when I give birth to my 3rd in a few weeks.

My wife and I just had our second child and I have to say this time at home with the midwife service was hands down the most amazing and special birth experience ever. From the very beginning at there office you feel like family. We would look forward to our appointments to see them. Sharon always made my wife feel comfortable, and confident in what we were doing. When the day finally came Our birthing team Serena and Heather made my wife feel confident, comfortable, and strong reassuring her that there was no doubt she could do this. They had all of there tools and supplies neatly organized and easily accessible through the birthing process. We delivered a healthy baby girl and they let us have our time with her until we were ready to do the newborn checkup. After the check up they made sure everything was cleaned up and put in bags and even washed the towels, sheets, and clothes from the birth. If you want to do an all natural birth at home or at a birth center this is no doubt they are the best of the best.

Lack of professionalism. I'm not going to go into what happened at time of birth with my wife but we had complications. Our son ended up being born in the hospital and they refuse to refund or work with you to make sure you only paid for the services done. We only had 5 appointments and had to pay for a whole package and turned out they weren't qualified enough to birth our son. We are still waiting on our invoice for a refund and it has been far too long with the phone games.

They appear to be nice but in reality it is because they are trying to scam you.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this birth center and its staff!!! ...

LOVE LOVE LOVE this birth center and its staff!!! I had the most amazing birth experience with my 2nd and 3rd children here. I've also had the pleasure of being a doula for a friend here and saw things from that side. I can tell you that there isn't another birth center in town that will protect you and your experience the way these women will.

There is nothing like feeling respected when you're pregnant. It's something we tend to leave at the door when we walk into our OB's office - but not at Fruitful Vine. Wait 10 minutes for a 45 minute visit. Have your questions answered, and be prompted for more. Feel yourself drawn out as they learn who you are and you get really comfortable with who THEY are. Know that you will be supported and empowered during your birth.

Love. Love. Love. these ladies.

When interviewing different midwives, Sharon was the reason we decided to use Fruitful Vine. She has a team of midwives that are everything you could ask for. I was honored to have Serena and Jess delivery my baby girl, and I wouldn't have asked for a better team. Heather provided me a ton of information to help make decisions. Lori was always a pleasure to talk to. The team provided professional care, and I was provided many options due to my situation. Everyone on staff has a heart to see mom's plan fulfilled. I had an amazing at home birth experience, and I will definitely be using this team for baby number two.

I have birthed 9 interracial babies with Fruitful Vine. Sharon has gone above and beyond to attend each birth and support me throughout my entire pregnancies, L&Ds, and postpartums. I started out a girl afraid of needles and birth and became a woman in love with all things birth! I am grateful to have found a friend and mentor for a lifetime. My husband and I both agree our lives would not be the same without her investment into our lives. Thank you Fruitful Vine! Thank you Sharon!

Maybe things are different nowadays but my daughter is 14 yo and I still feel sad to remember how Sharon didn't care about me. She showed up from time to time during my labor but no compassion or a signal of understanding. It was my first time having a baby and I felt like if I was bothering her instead of feeling understood and supported. I am writing this story now because somebody just asked me about my experience having a baby and it brought those sad memories. God bless her. I hope she is way better now.

Absolutely love this place! Midwives Kristen, Sam, Kelly Ann, everyone is so helpful and really a great team when it comes to delivering naturally. They all were very comforting and supportive. Not to mention the good laugh we all shared reminiscing on the beautiful experience bringing my first born son into this world.
