This is a very small museum, but it s worth the admission price (and even better when you get the entrance with the Country Music Hall of Fame ticket). The Frida exhibit is excellent, and the monsters and myth is also very good. The cafeteria is so lovely to sit at and they have pretty good snacks.

Great exhibits in a beautifully converted historic art deco post office. Staff is friendly, parking close to the building and nice gift shop as well. Have season passes (definitely recommend).

My family was doing a weekend trip to Nashville to visit a friend who was there for work. We went because they had a collection of samurai armor, swords, and other items there. We went on a Sunday. It was very busy. The line forms in the rear entrance corridor. We entered through the front. The staff was not particularly good about telling members that they didn't have to stand in the long line for non-members. The exhibit was nice. I don't know that we would have paid $12/adult for admission though. We found out that Millennium Maxwell House guests, as we were, gained free admission and that made our decision.

The Frist isn't just a museum, it's a hub for culture and the arts. Not only can you find some of the world's greatest artists like Renoir, Degas, and Van Gogh on display, you can find incredible works by lesser known artists as well. The onsite cafe features live music most evenings and is a nice place to grab a light snack. There's an auxiliary gallery on the second floor as well as hands on exhibits and activities for the children; and The Frist is always hosting interesting after hours adult events like PechaKucha and Frist Fridays. It's my favorite place to visit on a lazy Sunday afternoon...

This is a great place to go to see the fine arts. They have some very interesting exhibits, and some not so much. I just depends on your tastes. They also have a fun work shop that you and your family can enjoy. Defiantly a must to stop and check out while in Nashville.

I enjoyed the space and the exhibits were great, but the fee should be free for military like it is at most museums (including ones like the MoMA and the Whitney)
Also, expect the galleries to be noisy/hectic because there are MANY small children who come.

Great art, great people and even better food. Just off broad way this old Post office is like none other! Right now is 1900 Paris and it's absolutely amazing. Hardly no wait lines or times. And the conte hall has some of the best artwork from kids in highschool. Real amazing place!

Lucy, brought the past to life. Take the time and enjoy the tour. Look around at the history. Read everything you see. Listen to those around you offering there stories of times gone by. Lucy has a way of bringing it all together, and She has a lovely voice closing the tour with a ballot.

We really enjoyed the exhibits we saw: surrealist sound suits by Nick Cave, powerful photos of life at a Louisiana prison and news photos of the Civil Rights Movement in Nashville. Each was disconcerting in its own way, but all were really well presented.

Very small, but important museum to pop-in. Currently they are under transition in their galleries (only one gallery opened) and they offered half-off of admission prices. They had a beautiful photography exhibit on the Civil Rights Movement and a gorgeous exhibit of Nick Cave s pieces.

The museum was free for my 3 little ones who are all under 18 years old (the age for free admission). There was only an admission fee for me (for those with a Bank of America account, you can visit for free on the first weekend of the month). I was not sure my elementary aged kids would find the museum of much interest but after about the third exhibit room, they were coming along and finding different interests in each picture, painting, sculpture, and exhibit. To find at the end of the gallaries there is a children's experience room, my crew's visit went from being "okay" to "that was kinda fun".
It ended up being a good worthwhile trip for us.

The exhibits this location draws in is pretty incredible. The building is chic in an art deco sort of vibe. I did the Italian car exhibit which was a smashing success and then the samurai exhibit which was educational. Also don't skip the upstairs as they have some more eccentric displays tucked away. I normally avoid gift shops but this one is EXTREMELY well run and has perfect memorabilia themed for each exhibit.

Whoever thought of turning a post office into a museum is brilliant. You have 2 stories of art to explore, a gift shop, and a cafe. Parking is right across the street and they do validate. The staff is very friendly and always so helpful. There's not a whole lot to do during the day in Nashville so be sure to put this museum on your list.

My family and I enjoy the variety of exhibits they have here. There is a fairly regular rotation of exhibits and small, ancillary rooms for modern art pieces. We particularly enjoys the Impressionist exhibit. Upstairs there is an interactive art room for children (and adults too).

The Frist is housed in a beautiful, Art Deco former post office. Check the visiting exhibits online beforehand as their is little in the way of a permanent collection. The upstairs kids' section is really fun.

Unfortunately, it was impossible to get in. I passed the first museum parking lot, where an attendant moved a sign reading "Lot Full" to let cars in. When I approached, he gave me a sour look, replaced the sign and waved me off. I continued across Demonbreun, where I found a janky-looking public lot with only machines in attendance. I had no desire to stand in the cold and figure out how the parking process worked, and anyway, no prices were visible. Moreover, the lot had a large sign posted at the entrance detailing all the reasons why only the foolhardy would leave a car there. If the lot operators themselves thought it was a bad idea to use their lot, who was I to argue? So I went back across Demonbreun, where I saw the same attendant remove a "Lot Full" sign and wave cars onto a second museum lot. Aha! I approached, only to see him replace the sign and wave me off again. At that point, I gave up and went home (a half-hour drive one-way). It took weeks to carve out the time for that trip, so I was sorely disappointed; I really wanted to see the Roman exhibit. Not much will get me into Nashville--it's a city I consider it much better to be out of than in, and the museum is in the most congested part. So, although I was highly motivated to make the attempt, it's doubtful I'll repeat it.

A great place to bring the kids! Truly had a wonderful time. As tip make sure that you get a parking pass reduction QRCode from the ticket office prices fall from $10 an hour to two dollars an hour.

Good rotation of exhibits here, a great interactive art space for kids, all housed in an impressive converted 1930's post office. It's really impressive art deco architecture, and must be seen to be believed.

The art deco building was beautiful. Free coat check and free wheel chair rental (yes we had to use it) was even better! The exhibit.... not so great, and super small for the price we paid.
