I am rating Fred Martin Ford a 5 star mainly because Curt Putnam is an amazing salesman and a fantastic representative of Mr. Martin and the legacy he has created. Curt makes certain that every detail of the car buying experience is managed professionally and with grace. This is our third purchase from Curt and Fred Martin and I will be a return customer because of Curt, Mr. Martin's reputation for caring about people, and the Ford brand, which never took a penny in government bail out money. With that said, the day we closed on this vehicle there was only one finance person available and it was the one from the Mercedes Benz side of Fred Martin. He was a jerk, for lack of better words. He started our relationship by telling my wife and me about an argument he had with his wife. In the process, he actually started yelling (like he was doing a standup routine) in his office and the other customers in the Mercedes Benz showroom and our 4 children were looking into the office wondering what the heck was going on. He wanted to spend no time with the customer and just simply started putting blank documents in front of us to sign. When I asked him to complete the documents an at least communicate to me what I was signing, he acted as if I was inconveniencing him and said, "Well, I assumed you wouldn't have a problem with just signing." He actually started arguing about politics at one point in the meeting. Then, finally, he told my wife and me that we needed to speed things along because he had a Mercedes Benz customer to close on and "Mercedes Benz customers fill out their surveys differently, and that's all I care about." I informed Curt of the conversation and my offense and Curt informed his manager. On my drive home from Fred Martin, the finance guy called me to apologize but only wanted to make excuses and attempted to put the blame on Curt. If you are going to buy from Fred Martin, make certain it is on a day that the Ford finance closer is there.

We were car shopping this Saturday, unfortunately ran into a salesman who must have been having a bad day. He didn't look professional at all, with messy looking clothes and dreads halfway down his back. We told him we were just looking since we just recently decided that we needed a new vehicle. He asked us what type of car we were looking for, and when we said we had not decided yet his response was "Do you want a car, truck, suv?" This back and forth went around for a few minutes. Then while walking we noticed 3 very similar cars and asked him what the price of the vehicles were, his response "I don't know the price of every car on the lot, why don't you come inside and we'll look it up on the computer?" If I wanted to sit in front of a computer screen, I would have gone to my office, home, or pulled out my smart phone to look the price up. It was a very simple request, he asked us at least 3 times to go inside with him, and my response was "can you please just get me the prices of these vehicles while I look around" He again tried to get us to go inside, and after I said I wasn't goin inside with him, he walked away shrugged and shook his head and never returned. Needless to say, I looked up the prices of the cars on my phone while we continued to look at vehicles. I previously purchased a Mercedes vehicle from this dealership, but NEVER received service like this. I would recommend driving to a nearby city for a Ford vehicle, or stopping by the Mercedes Store in Akron if you are in the market for a Mercedes. I would not recommend this dealership.

I had the best experience anyone you could have at Fred Martin in Youngstown. From the first contact with Rob and through the entire process, I received the best service possible. Everyone in the dealership was very kind and helpful. Rob, really made me feel comfortable and educated well on my purchase. The people here has wonderful positive spirits. I received a better a vehicle than I expected. They even delivered my vehicle to my home! After the my purchase they followed up with me three times to make sure my family and I were find. I will continue to get all my vehicles and encourage others to go here. I currently refer all clients to this dealership as well. It's truly hard to find dealerships you can trust and build a great relationship with. After all my experiences with other dealerships, I'm blessed to find this one. This is a place you can feel comfortable with investing in your transportation!

Excellent service and staff! I love my 2015 Ford Escape!

I was hit by a hit and run driver while on the way to work. My car was totalled. I was so upset because my car was the perfect color and model for me. I looked on all of the websites to see if another car was out there to purchase and I found one on Fred Martin Ford in Ohio. I do not live in Ohio, but I figured that in order to replace my car that I would give this dealership a try. I purchased a Previously Owned car from Fred Martin Ford. They were very courteous, prompt, and helpful. They arranged the shipping of the car to me as well. In addition, they found the best price as to transporting the car. They also followed up with my purchase to be sure that I was completely satisfied. They also made sure that my temporary tag was good for 45 days to that I would have time to receive the car and register it in my state. I am so grateful to Fred Martin Ford and all of the help that they provided for me in replacing my car.

My sales person spent much time with me to make sure I was satisfied with the Ford Edge which I eventually leased. Martin Shaffer made sure that I understood all the new workings of my new vehicle. I was completely satisfied before I signed the lease.

After 4 days of driving my new vehicle I have become more excited about having leased a 2013 Ford Edge.

A co worker of mine went and bought a used vehicle from here. She is a single mother of 3. She bought this vehicle February 28 2019. She bought a extended warranty and was told it was bumper to bumper. This is the first time she bought a vehicle from a dealer. She was hearing a noise from the front end. She took it back to Fred Martin to have it looked at and was told the air did not work and the tire rod was bad. She was told to get the tire rod fixed ASAP. Please! like this happened within 3 months. She had this vehicle only 3 months and was told it was not under warranty and that it was going to cost her at least 954.00. She is devastated. She don t have that kind of $. Please! she only had this for 3 months and you people could not have helped her out. Ridiculous. I am looking to purchase A new vehicle. No way in hell will I and or anyone I know if I could help it will buy anything from here. Shame on you!!!

All in all, it wasn't the worst experience, I have had at a dealership. They were able to get me into a car, and I was a bit of a tougher case. My salesman, was a 2 and half star, I will not mention his name, because maybe he was having an off day. I was told some things the car needed to have done to it before I could drive it off the lot, they did half of them and when I noticed and call in was given some excuse of why. But when I asked why did the salesman tell me it would be done and it wasn't, I was told they would look in to it and get back to me, never did.

Best car buying experience in years. Great people, friendly no pressure atmosphere. Highly recommend them. Ben and Nikki were a pleasure to work with Oh yeah and the car is pretty cool too.

Worst service department I've ever delt with. You'll find more honesty in Washington DC than here.

The car sales experience is great.but about 1yr and 7months ago I needed a car.they got me one.it runs great but at the time I needed it.i traded a van in.the car is so small that I can't fit my family in.after a year of having it I was called to trade up they gave me the run around.3days ago they call me to try to give me a better one and once again I get screwed.i only wanted something me my family could fit in I have a 2017 Elantra it is small I am 6ft 2 it is very hard to get out of low miles I asked if I could get a bigger car they shot me down and tryed to get brand new.i didn't want a new car just something bigger my income did not change nor have I ever missed payment and paid more than I was supposed to paythe Ford people are quick to take your money but not listening to my needs I wanted this 2010suv and they could not even try to help a person outthey got me the worst finance company and went back on there word about helping me out how am I supposed to fit baby car seat and my 2 son's in a compact car and I forgot to mention the back window leaks when it rains.but I tell them that and nothing comes from that just they need more money down.well my cars back window leaks and the car is only 3years old I let them check credit score and they ran it so many times I lost a lot of points and now I don't know what to do I guess no help from fordi came to ford for a reason and didn't get what I needed.well it's 11/6/20 the ford dealership came through got a 2015 gmc I very happy with the purchase it is exactly what we needed and thax for all the hard work

Just dont do it! Bought 2 cars from here. Both were a mistake. Salesmen are pushy and are willing to tell you anything you want to hear. Had my credit checked by multiple banks after I told them my bank will approve my loan. Can't properly diagnose your vehicle. Service is NOT good. To keep it short just save your time, your credit, your money and go somewhere else!

If I could give zero stars I would. Purchased a used car from Fred Martin and it has been nothing but a headache. The salesman has yet to submit the service request that has been worked into the deal. When you try and contact the salesman or the sales manager they are never there and never return your calls. Secondly a lease pay off was added into the deal as well three weeks later still no check so im paying for two vehicles now while I wait!

Nikki Conley, and Anthony Ciccone in Finanace and Stan Kosinski in sales are the best! Stan was very informative and worked quickly to get me into the car I wanted. Anthony was a dream to work with, he made it a breeze getting through the paperwork. Nikki was, and has always been a pleasure to work with. No matter the situation she finds a way to work it out. The best part my experience buying my car was, the caring, and follow up, during the process. No pressure, no gimmicks, no games. People where nice but I got ripped off on the truck I bought it was used but still got ripped off 2 days after I brought it home they painted rust spots and all the rust spots are showing now I have put over a 1000 in the truck new fuel pump and break lines and gas lined and new brakes and rotors wil never buy from this place again this place is ignorant to sell a vehicle with brakes thay are shot

We are the easiest people to deal with for a salesman, we do our research extensively as to not waste anyone's time and after only one conversation I was ready to purchase a vehicle, however within 24 hrs. I will not be purchasing anything from this dealership. Misinformation is one thing but straight lying is unacceptable. Ben you emailed me 1-24-17 at 8:36am asking if I made any decisions on the vehicle but never once mentioning that the vehicle of interest was going to auction at 1pm, you stated other interested customers but that is a big difference. Conflicting information for the second time..first was the listed mileage 3k difference and sorry but travels from auction and recall repairs do not warrant that additional mileage from your site to the car fax.
I am very disappointed in the manner in which this situation was handled. I do not recommend buying from this dealership. Shady business.

My wife and I purchased a Mercedes from Fred Martin about 2 months ago. When we first arrived we stood around for almost 15 minutes before anyone greeted us. We were about to leave until Rob approached us. He turned the entire experience around. If you are interested in purchasing a vehicle from them ask for Rob. He's a really cool guy.

I would like to leave a very positive review. My husband and I walked in the door of the show room and Wayne Scholar immediately greeted us. I have been a regular customer of the Fred Martin Mercedes Benz service department for a few years. We decided to trade in our 2011 purchased car for a 2014 Lease. I am very pleased with the deal we were given and I look forward to doing future business with this dealership.

Great sales experience. I can't complain at all on that. Have purchased 6 cars from Fred Martin in the past few years.

The service department experience, not so much. Took my new Fusion in for its first oil change and tire rotation. I'll spare the details, just know that the service manager (initials JB) is egotistical and full of himself. I've worked in automotive service for most my working career, so I understand a thing or two about this industry. I was basically spoken to treated like a child.

Save yourself the hassle and seek service elsewhere. You'll certainly get better service and treated like you matter at Klaben or Donnell. Avoid this place like COVID.

I had been looking for a car for about a month. Not sure about what I wanted so stopped in @ Fred Martin just to look. Met Martin Shaffer who did not pressure me but listened to me and we looked at a few cars but I wasn't ready to commit yet.
I went to a few other dealerships and looked but there was only 1 other place that had a car I liked. When I went in, they made me feel like I was interrupting them and told me they closed in an hour and to come back...
3 weeks later, I went back to Fred Martin to talk to Martin Shaffer and he and I found a very very nice SUV!! Martin was personable, interested and concerned and I felt confident that I had made the right choice.

I called, inquired about the vehicle, and he was on it that minute, always kept in contact with me thru the whole process, I had some bad news about my down payment, but he didn t give up, he continued to call me to see if I had other options, after not answering his phone calls a few times, he still called to work with me. I was very intimidated by the dealership cause It was a big brand dealership, it s the kind you don t see many Young s kids coming in to buy a car. Everyone was so sweet, and very understanding. I had my very first experience with Fred Martin ford yesterday (5/28/20) test driving an 2020 ford ecosport and my salesman Jeff was phenomenal.
