I dropped my camera (fell off of a loose strap). My heart raced and thought that my NYC trip was in a jeopardy. Turned out the filter did its (secondary) job and protected the glass. However, it was bent enough and I couldn't muscle it out of the lens.

I searched around and found Foto Care. I called first and went in because it was the closest place that was opened earlier than others. I went in and was helped by Ronald. He was very helpful and was concerned for me when he saw my situation!

He was able to get the filter removed (via the Rental store) and I was able to get a new filter to put on it. He was very friendly, VERY knowledgeable - everyone there seemed to be. We talked about other cameras, and his experience (plus showing some of his work), and some random stuff about how much he likes watches. It was a very awesome experience to be in there. If I need any thing done in NYC, I'll definitely stop by there again. Even if I want to buy something, I'll check them out first!

I was there for less than an hour and there were 1 fashion photographer and 1 national geographic photographer doing their transactions there. I knew I made the right decision to go in there :)

Ronald and Foto Care saved my photography part of my trip. Thank you guys!

The store for the professional photographer. Laid back non sales driven atmosphere. All the best gear with all the bells and whistles. They will help you out if your just starting out , but this place is more geared for the pros that know what they want. I also like the fact that they refrigerate their film and have a refrigeration unit behind the counter unlike the so called competition. Orders are done prompt with a fast turnaround. Their rental department has everything also. Plus they keep late hours....

I don t know why anyone would ever buy film from FotoCare. Recently went in to purchase 4x5 film in January. Kodak raised their prices per box on Kodak Portra 400 speed film on Jan 1 from $49.99 to roughly $54. FotoCare is charging $70/box which is a shameless up charge. Not to mention the box I looked at had an emulsion date from late 2019. B&H had the decency to only increase the price on film made after the Jan 1 2020 price increase. Do not buy film here!

If you need a pro store or just someone with a well funded option on anything photography and lighting related this is the place. And pricing is the same than the big box retailers that often know nothing about the products they sell. Also, the most variety in rental photo and lighting equipment.

When all you want or need is a light wieght version of BH this is a great spot. The used camera dept has a nice selection for top dollar. Carry a good selection of film stocks. A good selection of pretty much everything photography related. Staff is fine.

Fotocare combines the latest in photo tech, with the feel of a small business where everyone knows you, and treats you like a friend. Friends with actual industry experience that can help find solutions. Especially in a world where it s easy to buy something online, Fotocare gives you options to explore, try out gear, and speak with an expert to determine your needs. All without being treated like a number, or being distracted by a busload of tourists.

I ve been coming here for over 5 years and as my photography needs evolve, so does my customer experience. As a hobbyist I came in to get the occasional supply or gadget that I needed at the time. Like 35 mm film or a tripod adapter i misplaced. As I shifted towards full time photography they were able to help with purchasing professional studio strobes, modifiers, specialty lenses, tethering solutions, location bags and more.

They also offer industry networking events, and in store training.

Their new motto is You re passionate about images. We re passionate about YOU. And with that level of Foto Care they ve helped elevate my career. True pros. They ve been in business for 50 years and I m sure they ll last at least another 50.

I've been going to Fotocare Rentals (on-and-off) for years. Fred (the manager) and the staff are friendly and know their equipment. Sometimes I need to rent from other rental houses and when I do I'm reminded that the service at Fotocare is really top notch...

This is a pretty small camera store - they don't have a lot of stock, but they cover a pretty wide gamut. Also, they have a reasonable amount of stuff that you can actually pick up and touch. Unlike Adorama (around the corner) where you have to get someone to go get something for you to look at.

All of the staff (4 in total) that I interacted with were super nice and knowledgeable. I didn't make use of it, but they have rooms for photographers as well as the capability to make very large prints. Also, they have two nice restrooms!

I came in at my wits end with a flash I had rented from a different rental house (who had already closed) for a wedding the same day. Anthony and Manny sat with me trying to figure it out for upwards of 15 minutes, and we tried everything and finally settled on it being a hardware malfunction. The fact that the wonderful humans at Foto Care would help even when it wasn t their equipment shows how dedicated they are to photographers. I will definitely be renting/buying from them next time around. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

LOVE this place. I strolled in here one day when I was early for a client lunch across the street. I had been looking for a Leica Q for the past 4 months. Nobody (B&H, Adorama, etc) had them in stock yet.

I asked the very polite gentleman behind the counter if he had one, expecting him to say no....and yet he not only had one, he had 3 in stock! I played with the camera, asked a few questions - all of which were promptly answered by the very knowledgeable staff. I decided to sleep on it and said I'd call the next day with decision.

Purchased the Q the next day. I worked directly with the owner, Jeff. He really knows his stuff. Awesome customer service.

Jeff and Foto Care are now my default go-to for all camera related items!

Lens was great. Customer service, meh. You walk in and all the employees are in their own world. No 'I'll be with you in a moment' or any indication that you exist. No one looks up.

However, once they talk to you they are helpful and friendly and give great advice.

Friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The only place that I trust buying my equipment and repairs. Being treated like a human and not a number is so rare these days. Keep up the good work.

Foto Care rentals and the store in the adjacent building offer some top quality gear for serious photographers. Probably the store with the most complete display of Broncolor studio lights in the NYC area. Even more important is the knowledgeable staff.

Since 1998, I've been doing business with Foto Care and over the 28 years of buying and renting equipment, the staff has been professional and did everything possible to make sure it was a great experience. Don is always availabe to answer our tech and sales questions. Brian in rental has always been there when we needed him. The gear is clean, everything we need is included and it arrives as scheduled. Both of these guys have worked there for years and it says a lot about the reputation as well as the owner of the company. Jeff stands behind not only his staff but he stands behind each and every sale his customers make with his company.

Prices are similar to the bigger photo stores in the area, but what sets Foto Care apart is the great customer service. Knowledgable and friendly staff makes deciding to shop here a no-brainer. Also, their rental studio is top-notch. Customer service just as good as their store and a great selection for digital full frame and medium format shooters.
