Would be nice if they sorted their website out. It crashed whilst placing an order on Friday 11th July 2014 and now on Wednesday 16th July it is still down. I was at the point of paying for the goods when it crashed.I had literally just pressed confirm. Obviously this caused concern as I had no idea if the order has been processed. On telephoning the helpline I found the staff very helpfull . Was informed that the order had not been processed and they retook my order. I made the point of requesting / suggesting that the I.T. support group needed to be informed. Was told they would.
On recieving my goods yesterday ( the site crashing meant the preffered Monday option I had " ticked " was no longer available ) I needed to contact Fortnum's & tried online first , the site was still down. Contacted by phone instead . mentioned the online problem as well as my initial cause to contact. Wished to shop online this morning & as of 10am its still down. The store is wonderful with a wide range of items the equals of which are not normally seen in most other retailers , the staff are helpful , knowledgable, friendly and chatty .However the system failure is a problem and they have lost my trade this morning . I have contacted the store ( again ) to inform them of the problem ... let us see what happens.The store maybe 307 years old the I.T system is not !
Will recomend the afternoon tea especially after an afternoon shopping in Bond Street or as I call it suffering the other half's shoe shopping......Must be something in the Geneva convention about such things ! Happy shopping .
