Very disappointing service appointment.
I scheduled my Q5 to have a recalled part replaced. When scheduling the appointment I was informed that they were only able to replace one of the two recalled parts. The reason given was that they didn t have the second part available. I asked about safety concerns and if I should contact another dealership to have both parts replaced at once. I was assured that I would be contacted if the second part became available. I was further informed that the one part would be a quick fix, and that I wasn t eligible for a loaner car.
I arrived at the dealership before 8 am on a rare day off, and had arranged childcare for my small children at home. Upon arrival I was informed that the second part was available, but it would take in excess of 3 h to repair, and there were no loaner cars available. I reviewed with the lady assisting me that I was told I would be informed if there was a change/if the part was available, and expressed disappointment that was not the case. We rescheduled to another date when a loaner is available and they can fix both parts at once.
So that the visit was not a total loss, I asked if there was a particular model on the showroom floor that I could see. I was told maybe if they aren t all sold! And that was the end of the exchange. I walked over unaccompanied and assessed the model on my own. This car is an upgrade from my current model which I am looking to trade in as we are expecting another baby the in the coming months. Obviously this is something that the representatives didn t know, and I realize they are the service dept and not sales, but it seems odd that there would be no interest in assisting an inconvenienced customer. There were no other customers waiting aside from one woman seated and waiting for her car. One associate was busy replacing bottles of water.
Overall I continue to be disappointed by the lack of respect for my time and money. I repeatedly get the impression from Audi of Fort Worth that my time is not valuable, and that they would not care to sell me another (more expensive!) vehicle. I am bewildered by these customer service practices, especially at a luxury dealership. It is enough for me to not only avoid buying a car here in the future, but to encourage others to avoid this dealership as well.
