I popped outside half way through a gig to put my coat in the car as there is no cloakroom and was refused entry 30 seconds later by the 22 year old 7 foot bouncer who watched me walk out to my car as there was nobody else around. So I ignored him and carried on back into the gig. He pushed in front of me and held his arms up to stop me picking up my drink and returning to my friends, telling me I need to go back outside so he could speak to me and to be frisked (again). I told him I wouldn't be going anywhere with him so he decided he now had the right to start pushing me!!!! I am a 58 year old, 5'1" tiny little old lady. As for the bar...if you buy a can of coke as a mixer, the barman will pour the whole can into your plastic cup as you're not allowed the can. I have never heard of anyone being killed with an aluminium juice can. I will NEVER GO BACK there again!!
Every event I've been here it has been great, from the coffee expo to sci fi con. All staff are always pleasant, the facilities are always clean. I've never used the bar, so have no idea on pricing, but looks ok. Will go again. .obviously...
Good local venue and hosts live music. The main hall could do with more ladies toilets but good other than that.
Large enough for certain events without being to big & a decent coffee shop that's not overpriced.
watched a full night of mma fighting at this event, first time at this place and it was well organised ...staff were good and the seating and look of the place was nice would recommend.
Place itself looks the part, decent prices on the cheaper end of the scale and worth a visit, great for watching footy. Lost stars as the pipes were in need of cleaning giving the beer a slight hint of being off. Come across that before here so I think their cleaning regime needs to be a bit more frequent - they do have a LOT of taps mind!
Loads to do here . From concerts to 5 aside football, Chinese buffets, bowling. Ample parking also
I visited the Corn Exchange for an actor's convention... This was the perfect space for conferences like this. Booths and stages were set up in the large function hall and the smaller rooms had things like lectures and areas to connect to online job searches. The little cafe managed to keep me going throughout the day and I had a lovely day out.
Hi went to ten pinbowling they have different packages you can see online i went with package 10 pound a hour after 8pm on friday and Saturday it was busy but not overcrowded
Good place for bowling food wasn't that great for the price
I was here for a pub quiz a few weeks ago, hundreds of people took part! It was a nice, large space to accommodate with a decent drink selection and friendly staff!
Saw Bastille here. Superb. Security was quick and painless and the venue itself is excellent and is a great size for a gig. Free parking is great too!
Drinks wayy overpriced!! But atmosphere was just okay.
Sorry not impressed. Why are they doing upgrades at the height of the school holidays! Only six lanes available so took 2dsys to get a lane. Also you think there customer service would be better, oh no. There were 3 groups waiting when we entered with no one serving, I eventually went to the bar to ask if anyone was serving and the guy I spoke to didht work there(he was one of the upgrade team) eventually a member of staff who was stocking the bar appeared and said she would come and suddenly 3staff appeared. Sorry not good enough.
Excellent venue for conferences and also festivals such as the annual Gin Festival. Areas of the venue could do with some upgrading and modernisation but it doesn't draw down on the experience too much!
Went bowling at world of bowl, which is literally half the price of the other places. Shame the Chinese buffet is closed for refurb tho
We went here for the Capital SciFi Con. It was a small choice for a relatively fun packed event with people in their character costumes. The place has a large enough hall that can be used for small concerts or any exhibitions and medium sized hall for a more intimate gatherings or events. It has a cafe too if anyone gets hungry or 'beer'sty during the event. It also has easy access public toilets inside.
My three year old grandson goes to a football shool once a week there, the facilities are excellent and its well used by adults and five a side teams
I love going to the bowling alley here.plus the staff are really nice too.
Nice space for events. Scottish Tattoo Convention rocks!!
Was a great location I attended for the 'braw burns' event
A great venue. Loved our party night here recently.
I went here for the tattoo convention in April loved the place much bigger inside than it looks from out front it's a traditional old stone building from the outside but nice and modern inside great place
Fourth or fifth time at this venue can highly recommend.
Very nice place to have events. suitable for holding any sort of social event like wedding party, fund raising charitable event, marketing/ promotional event.Excellent facilities at competitive price. Not far from city centre and Free parking is also available.
Super venue for EYF; good transport links, good facilities.
World of Soccer is best venue in Edinburgh for 5 or 6 asides
Edinburgh Yarn Festival was amazing - the corn exchange was a great venue and the staff were really helpful.
Great venue for all sorts of activities. Been bowling there and also attended Beer Festival, Gin Festival and Arts Festival in recent months.
Large venue and capital sci to con was held there, staff were helpful and friendly
Large And popular, plenty of spaces and bus stops, next to a few shopping areas, 15mins on the bus to the centre, plenty of areas, activities and areas for food and drink
Slightly too far outside of town as a general venue, in my eyes. Though always seems to have a good mix of events on.
Great, spacious venue and easily accessed by Lothian bus services 4, 34, 35, 44 or by train to Slateford railway station.
Good place to visit. Hosts some great events. Parking ok. Expensive for food and drink.
Excellent music venue with a bar and shops close by the likes of Aldi, adds and M&S food for sandwiches etc.
We went here due to greenside being closed. Don't come to Edinburgh all the time but a good car boot was always guaranteed at greenside including in winter. Have been to corn exchange a few times before. Its a small car boot but as usual you just need one good car and I got what I was looking for from that car. So was good when there could have been nothing.
One of the best venues of Edinburgh and in a very historic building. I had my work's Xmas party there and it was great. Also been there to a few concerts and enjoyed the experience every time. The only bad thing is that it is a bit far from the city centre... But well connected by bus ;)
Been to a few gigs here including disclosure, good atmosphere mixed crowd
Great venue for music, festivals. Reasonably close to town for a venue of this size, but not really walkable.
Just love this place great staff and reasonably priced in the afternoon for our walking football team
Only 6 disabled spaces for the whole building, and when I have visited they have had them either fenced off or used by non blue badge holders.
I saw Deadmau5 here and the venue was fantastic. Decent size and great setup definately one of the better venues ive been to.
Went to a Christmas party here, everything was perfectly organised, the food was excellent, the bar is long in a separate room so easily coped with the hundreds of people attending. There were plenty of toilets so no queuing. The entertainment was great so people up dancing til 1am a great venue for a party night.
