Excellent facility with quick access to airport. I asked and received an upgrade to Elite room with consierge privleges.
This was a wonderful experience! Staff was amazing,VERY clean, great food and just a great experience I highly recommend this hotel! Mookie in the dining area was the best! She was so much fun to talk to and was so very helpful and just a great woman who is so friendly and funny! Excellent! Would definitely go back!
Had to switch rooms because the carpet was very dusty and dirty.
Family of 5, stayed one chilly Sunday night in 2 adjoining rooms. Room was clean but cold when we arrived. It took us 2 hours to coax some warm air out of the heater. There was trash and debris on the hallway carpet outside of our rooms. Room was quiet with a nice view.
No free breakfast was advertised, so we went to the hotel restaurant which was nice but chillier than our room. Paid $52 for three of us for the buffet which consisted of cold rubbery pancakes, cold bacon and sausage, and small pastries which seemed like leftovers from last week.
After a long wait for the elevator, we returned to find that our key scanner wouldn t work. Cleaning service down the hall tried but their key didn t work either and they directed us to the phone back near the elevators. Ten minutes later a tech came up and eventually replaced batteries in the door lock to let us in. Upon checkout, waited 10 to 15 minutes at desk while clerk was dealing with a complaining customer. A nice hotel but.....We didn t feel that we got enough value for our $470 one night visit.
My stay at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North was an enjoyable experience. The room was a decent size, and the beds were comfy. I had a drink at the lobby bar, the bartenders were friendly. Front desk staff was very hospitable and kind. I enjoyed my stay.
I visit this Marriott frequently for work events. While the staff is very nice and I hear the rooms are comparable to other Marriott's off the highway, the quality of food is lacking both at the events, and in the restaurant. If they upgraded that a bit, and gave the lobby a bit of a makeover, this could be a top notch location.
We went to homecoming we were dancing taking pictures in nice rooms
Stayed at the hotel before a cruise. Cost was $250 plus a night. Was terrible. Arrived at 5:30 pm and didn't have the room ready. They said the reason was they had a large amount of guest checking out that day and they were working on getting the rooms ready as soon as possible. Finally got in the room at 7:30pm. Management would refused to reduce the room rate. 9:00pm the tv system for the whole hotel went out. Seems like the staff is lost in space. Don't stay at this hotel.
In all my years of globetrotting, living in numerous continents and hotels, I have yet to meet one as abhorrently impertinent, obnoxiously prejudicial and Vilest of service attitude as that of the Front Reception- Xiomara from Fort Lauderdale Marriott North!
I came in with a smile and she was stone faced. No greetings at all. No welcome to Marriott, Nothing! So unlike all the other Marriotts. She just went straight for my photo id and my credit card. She wouldn t listen to my explanation that my credit cards are almost maxed out and as this is not a local credit card, it would take forever to release the funds. I would prefer to pay everything in cash. She told me offhandedly with a shrill condescending tone NO! Her emphasis on negativity was appalling! She proceeded to lecture me on their policies of no credit card means NO STAY. It is not so much of what she say but how she said it! Shrill and extremely condescending! I tried explaining to her that Fairfield Inn s acceptance of cash was not an issue but she vehemently and impertinently argued with me until her voice was a shrill. The other girl- Jumelia, at the counter on hearing the commotion tried to help; but by then, Xiomara had already stomped into the Manager s office and instead of trying to find a solution to my problem, Xiomara, actually aggravated the problem by instigating the Manager, Christian against me. For when he exited his office, there was just a contemptuous look on his face without so much an effort to introduce himself nor a handshake. I was the one who initiated the self-intro and a handshake. He, however, without waiting for me to explain, repeated exactly everything she told me. I retorted that the attitude of his staff is a reflection of his poor management in hospitality. With that, he became aggressive and told me to get out; as I have disrespected him.
In the end, it was the General Manager- Dan who managed to salvage the otherwise disastrous situation of me being obnoxiously and prejudicially evicted! However, he became very cold and indifferent towards me after Xiomara strenuous rejection of having me on the premises!
What nerves! Xiomara absolute impertinence, haughtiness and obnoxious insolence really raises the question of her competency in this hospitality business! Unlike Jumelia, who tried hard to salvage the situation and definitely an asset to any hospitality business; Xiomara, on the contrary, is more of a Liability to any Hospitality establishment!
With Xiomara s Vilest of service attitude, the entire place now reeks of disingenuous and contumelious to me!
For what it was worth: GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!
Great hotel, amazing service! Christopher at front desk and Irma in the restaurant were both awesome. Great place to stay in Fort Lauderdale.
Close to Landmark , affordable and excellent service.
AVERAGE HOTEL STAFF & ROOMS LACKS THE WOW FACTOR AND 2 STARS CAUSE THE LOCATION IS POOR NOTHING NEAR BY
It was a nice place to stay. Clean all the time and friendly staff. I will say the water pressure was AWESOME! It didn't drain well but that's not a big deal. The parking garage worked out since it was raining. Just hated the people double parking. The fridge was a true mini fridge that you could not fit 6 regular 20oz drinks in and the fact it was off level they would all try to roll out. Other than that its a nice stay for a week.
Marriott name. old hotel . service was good but place need a lot of work
Super clean! All the Marriott workers are so helpful and nice! Are stay was great! Would stay here again!
I stayed at this hotel for a weekend event. During my time here, the beds were comfortable and it took me little time to fall asleep. My stay also involved half of the site's four elevators being down for its entire duration. Hotel concessions also seemed somewhat sparse; I seem to recall that a table was only set up mid-day Saturday. There was also an impression that the hotel did not believe in the capabilities of my event's staff; this was especially evident in making things so difficult to run that one particular event had to be called off due to lacking electricity.
Going back to the issue of limited elevator functionality, I regularly utilized the stairs connecting floors, despite the absence of access to the hotel's second floor-the floor where the bulk of my event's activities were being held. I point out that my room was several floors above the event floor, leaving me often worn out and driving me to my luxurious bed sooner than I would otherwise have liked. I would have liked if the hotel were happy to keep con events running beyond midnight, but I believe most hotels in this area would much rather charge twice as much and do half as much work to entertain wedding parties.
Lastly, I had heard from multiple sources that a hotel employee overstepped his position by barging in on a room to complain at guests when the event had already hired law enforcement to solve any issues.
The hotel told us the mobile application does not communicate with the hotel system. If you check in through the application and the app tells you you are checked in and the mobile key is on the way - that is a false statement. They advised us we must call rather than use the app. They also said they do not honor reservations made over the app - there is no guarantee for a room reserved and checked in on the app. They also have not reversed the charge the app made for my room.
Friendly and helpful staff, food is not good, don't order room service. There's Chipotle and other nice diners in a walking distance from the hotel
Rooms were ok, bar staff was excellent, front desk staff was courteous and quick. Our shower had hairs in it and after the hotel staff had cleaned it we found a used bandaid in the shower drain. They refunded us $20 for the inconvenience.
Room was great very spacious and modern. Staff was friendly.
Little old, needs some renovation, only two out of 4 elevators working. Rooms at the side to I95 little noisy.
i stayed here for my birthday weekend and the hotel is amazing the staff is absolutely amazing Carlos from the front desk was great and very helpful . i will definitely recommend this hotel the rooms are impeccable
Meeting a friend there who live not seen for 25 years. Staff looked after us incredibly well. Great level of service. Food was very good and not too bad priced for a hotel. Dessert was incredible, really great key lime pie. Coffee was brought, topped up regularly and a Togo cup proffered. Staff were attentive without being pushy. Highly recommended
The room was clean, comfy beds, cold AC, food was high priced as expected, but tasted good, and came with all the miniature bottles of ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc, instead of tear open packs, they were actual tiny glass jars with 1 serving in each, haha. The staff was kind and helpful, the bathroom was nice, it was a large shower instead of a tub, which I prefer. I never use a hotel tub, and being a very large man, I love when they have large walk in showers, ha.
Rooms were clean, nice pool and fitness center, convenient location near the airport.
Place needs cleaning everywhere , front desk not so friendly
Bathroom shower heads could have been cleaned. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Great hotel and for American standards also a very good breakfast.
Beautiful hotel. Nice ballroom, with courteous staff. Guest room was spacious & clean; very cozy beds - not too soft, not too hard. I enjoyed my stay and fun time in the ballroom. Great job, Events Planning Dept.!!
One of the better priced hotels in Fort Lauderdale is the Marriott Fort Lauderdale North, it's close to both shopping and restaurants as well as easy access to the city centre and only a 15 minute drive to the airport, FLL. There is free selfparking both outside and covered. The hotel is a little dated but has a nice pool and a small gym as well as a executive lounge. The rooms are a good size with good views over the surrounding areas. Both the bar and restaurant are reasonably priced but there are plenty of choice around the hotel if you want something else. Overall a good value hotel.
The place is clean, but there is no frig or microwave! No hot tub, no free breakfast, lots of road noise & noise in the hallways.
Great location. Close to lots of restaurants and breweries. Clean, quiet rooms and nice facilities. I would stay here again
Hotel experience was great. Rooms clean and the bed soft with a wide wide screen TV. I love it 5 Stars
From the moment we entered the building it was an experience. Helpful service, great breakfast and timely seating. The rooms were professionally cared for and just what I needed to do business as well enjoy time with friends. #GirlsTrip #Birthday #Go
Old. Under construction. Elevators dirty. Staff was friendly.
So professional! Took care of our food, drink, and internet needs with the perfect amount of space!
1 elevator out of 4 works, staff is unresponsive and lazy, cleanliness was not up to par in common areas...
Good hotel for business travelers, close to 95 and airports.
This is a hotel for business travel, not a vacation. While there city's water main broke, affecting the hotels water and air. We had to find and move to another hotel. The only thing they gave us was a comp room. I'll never go back to this hotel.
Classic Marriot hotel good for staying if doing business on the area.
Friends were very haply with their accommodations, as well as their STAY!
Too rich for my blood!
Was there for a convention, great facilities, didn't stay the night
The room was not as clean as it could've been, did not like layout of bathroom, carpet looks worn, had problem with complimentary breakfast buffet, but it was delicious, just inefficient. Overall we were comfortable, but just not up to usual standards. Had to be moved to another room twice. Everyone worked had to please, however.
Good food and as fresh as can be. Love the orange juice in the morning, premium service. Off the main road and so it's very quiet.
This is my go to spot when I'm in Broward County. They have updated and modernized the rooms and the common areas so now it resembles a chic boutique hotel. Love the change. It is centrally located with easy access to the beach, downtown, and the malls. I always enjoy my stay.
Poor management . Although with a guarantee late check out because of my platinum membership I was forced out of my room before 12 noon to make available the room for another guest . Breakfast ordered to my room came late at 11:15 am so we had to rush to eat it in a hurry .
Very nice and modern hotel . We had a little issue operating the shower but an employee came very quickly to help us out. employees were very sweet.
I love this hotel!!! The rooms are clean, spacious, and modern. I would recommend this location.
Parking didn't seem to be an issue. Bathrooms seemed to be few and far between. Eggs for breakfast meeting were a bit overdone.
There isn't much to do there. The service is nice but the gift shop has too much inflation on its products. No great views but it's a hotel and at the end of the day it's a place to sleep.
The rooms are okay. The bathroom sink area tight. My shower curtain rod was bent so the water went everywhere. The tubs are very shallow. You definitely couldn't take a bath there.
The hotel was very nicely decorated. Everything was so clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice.
Beautiful place and comfortable beds, food is excellent. I give it a 10!
Hotel is very clean and nice decor. The room was spacious, flat TV was mounted to the wall, and the desk space provided multiple outlets for charging devices. The concierge lounge was nicely set up and we'll kept. The lobby is pretty and wide open. It is a good location. The hallway noise was a little bit unnerving, but nothing the hotel can control. Overall I would recommend staying at this property.
Conveniently located off I-95. Nice concierge and restaurant.
Honestly the best hotel I have stayed at in this country. Purely because unlike other service related industries mostly hotels in the US, the staff is what makes this hotel great. First of all they don t have an attitude, they are hospitable and helpful as it is expected in the hospitality industry. The fact that they make you feel welcome and respond genuinely and fast to requests is what made me like this hotel. Thank you to the wonderful people at this Marriott Hotel in FLL.
Clean, friendly staff. Pool and hot tub could use sine upgrades
