The service was lacking in attention to guests. For example, we had to wait almost one hour for check-out as there was only one person at the Reception! Booking massage appointments was very difficult and the spa facilities were certainly not up to the mark! Getting someone to bring the baggage down the stairs was such a onerous task- we were waiting for 45 minutes! And, getting the right rooms when checking in also took more than an hour. In all, even though the resort has a unique attractive setting, the guest experience can be improved!

Nicely maintained heritage property, only one of its kind in Maharashtra. Our stay was good. Few points to note-
1) Pack good walking shoes as the property is vast and you will have to do a lot of walking especially if you choose to stay in Royal Tents as they are located at the very end of this property.
2) The food is good but quite expensive. Buffet is not at all worth the price.
3) My experience with service at Reception desk was not very good.I had to walk all the way to Reception twice as they were not answering calls.
4) They are not fully equipped to handle any medical emergency. My husband had tummy troubles and I had to walk up to Reception desk to get a medicine for him. They had very rudimentary first aid box( the kinds where you put some medicines in a shoebox) to begin with and even when I told them about the problem, the response from the lady was very off-handy. They never bothered to follow-up on his health or ask if we needed anything else. We were pretty much on our own to handle the situation. This left a very bad taste in our mouth.

Historical experience of one of the Maratha forts in Pune. Authentic collections in the museum coupled with an audio tour of the fort makes this place a must visit in Pune. They also have packages which include an Alacarte menu and buffet at 2 separate locations within the fort itself.

It's a small fortress called gadhi of great maratha warrior family of jadhavrao. The place has some historic aura you can feel just looking at it. The construction is contemporary to the great era of maratha empire. You are welcomed by a sound of tutari and nagara. There is imposing nagarkhana right above the mahadwar or main gate. Rooms are cleverly placed inside owaries in the wall and on the walls themselves. The place is just 25 to 35 km from pune and serenly located. The surrounding gardens of 6 acres are nicely developed and kept. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is polite. There is a nice swimming pool inside. Some outdoor activities are also available. Only complaint I have is the food I mean if the whole setup is maharashtrian they should have an expert marathi chef who specialises in marathi food. All in all its a nice resort for a Day Out.

Went there for a breakfast event. Food items in the breakfast buffet were not refilled. That even included the simplest item milk for coffee, which meant that nobody from the staff paid enough attention.

Good experience, very pricey and hence the two stars deducted. Excellent service. Food is okayish, nothing extravagant. Food can br better. We stayed in normal room, it is actually pretty normal. The room did not give. Fort experience, but it was decent big room. Have a great lawn for a walk and for kids to play. We played badminton. Staff is amazing, the welcome is grand.. but things can be better.. like the room can be more ancient look etc. The road to the fort from highway is pretty bad, the same can be improved. Bullock cart ride is a waste.. if i wilk get it in a cheaper rate i will go again, else will be there for a drive!! Again great service and staff!!

This is a small fort , we stayed in the tents which were quite spacious, though they don't provide room service in the room . It's a good place to come with the family , they provide a ample entertainment on the weekends . All over a good experience .

A must visit resort. The property is awesome and well maintained, preserving the heritage and also providing all amenities at the same time. The hospitality services deserve a 5 star, but the restaurant service could have been better considering the price they charge. Hence overall 4 stars.

Magnificent fort with a very rich museum. The adjoining restaurant is typical and the buffet offered is excellent. After you can take a digestive walk on the ridge line taking after the old quarry. Just beware of the seeds of certain grasses that are very 'endearing'.

The onward journey is full of adventure, u pass on the ghat section where we made a quick stop to admire the nature at its best and then u are treated with the most amazing architectural Fort and a grand welcoming of the trumpets. The place has a good restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating plus a pool side to wind down the journey. They do have accommodation which is a plus point and a must visit if ur in Pune.

I would say a place with awesome ambience but average food quality and even worse service give it 3

We had a expat visiting us thought of going to this place, showcasing a fort from the Maratha Empire as well as enjoy food.

First of all a tutari and a dhol is played for your welcome by two men clad in authentic maharashtrian getup 4

Then comes the best part, no one to guide us nor help us so we ourselves move to the reception to ask details of the packages available 2

We move to the first restaurant in which all the tables are full and there is no one to tell us how much time to wait or what is the kind of food available. 1

Then we move to the restaurant called 'paytha' which serves only buffet

Ambience: the ambience is awesome and the layout is in such a way that cool breeze keeps blowing from the areas surrounding making it a pleasant place. The tables are neatly done.
Everything is self service except for roties.

Welcome drinks: fresh lime water sweet at the main reception, jaljeera and watermelon juice at the restaurant 'paytha'

Live counter 1: puran poli with ghee, bhakri with jaggery and zhunka, fulka 4

Live counter 2: dahi puri and pani puri, the taste was extremely bad and the person preparing extremely slow 2

Live counter 3: jalebi with rabdi, 3 taste was good and balanced

Starters:
Paneer malai kebab: tender paneer preparation with a balanced taste 3
Kothimbir wadi: taste was good and looked good as well but very dry 2
Potato wedges: just about ok 3
Fish finger: well made, tasty, looked good 4
Chicken hara bhara: looked good but extremely chewy and hard 2
Chicken tikka : looked good but extremely chewy and hard 2
There were 3 chutneys accompanying the starters the green chutney, ketchup and mayonnaise

Main course:
Chicken hara bhara gravy: ok ok 2
Laal maas: awesome taste and consistency and look of gravy really good. Quality of mutton was good too. 3.5
Macchi Kokani curry: basa fish, again the taste and consistency of curry was really good. 3.5

Butter garlic naan: soft, well cooked and tasty thoroughly enjoyed it 3.5

Deserts:
Jalebi and rabdi explained above
Gulab jamun: one dish which just add flavour and it was indeed good 3.5
Ice cream, mousse, balushahi, cake I did not try
Ammras: not at all upto the mark 2

Cost of the buffet is 1200 per head and not at all worth would be better if you go to some place in KP with a better ambience.

There was a guy playing flute and he was heavenly talented just filled the air with a different kind of atmosphere that I cannot explain in words 5

A great Maratha heritage converted to modern luxurious resort. Nice food and you can enjoy the view from top. Lush greenery around it. Interesting musiuam with historical collections. You will definitely love this place.

Royal Maharashtrian setup, amazing view and location. The road to hotel from main road is not good. The hotels looks royal and welcome is done traditional Marathi style. The restaurant on the top gives amazing view but falls short of good service. Rest is good! Try it once!

Typical fort like experience with staff dressed in authentic Marathi costumes. Being a fort, the stone steps do take a lot of effort in climbing up. So I suggest old people and people with a smaller lung capacity should avoid this place. Else it's a wonderful property to experience the Maharashtra of olden times.

The property is well maintained and surrounded in a pristine location. It s relatively small in size and can be covered in 15-20 minutes. Service is good and staff is nice and courteous. The 1.5km access road to the property from the main highway is badly maintained. The only thing the resort needs to badly take up is the food part, especially the lunch and dinner. It s not up to the mark. I would have added 1 more star if food is improved.

All and all it was a great experience...Some things could have been better but they have got their hospitality perfect, warm people, lots of activities and games to do, the spa is amazing, the morning trek is simply a must do especially in winter's, the audio tour of the fort is also beautifully executed. Chhavni Tents need to be worked on so our suggestion would be to better book a normal room rather than upgrading later as we did. But if you are in a group, you should visit this place and make the most of it. It's a great place for group outings!

It's a nice resort near Pune. Earlier it was only a Maratha fort, but at present some private company has turned it into a modern resort. One can pay and take an audio guided tour of different places of the fort. The audio tour is costly but given that it is maintained by a private enterprise, you should expect that. They have two restaurants inside the fort one serves buffet lunch and the other provides Al-a-karte food. They have one staff who is exceptionally talented, as he can make sound of almost every bird with very high precision. If you visit do not forget to listen to him.

It s a beautiful fort cum hotel. But the service doesn t match the price. The restaurant is okayish and the road to the fort is in very poor condition.

Good things:
It s a lush green place away from Pune city (it s really faaaar..)

You can spend a day here doing picnic with friends and families

Cons:
If you need anything while you re here, just pray that fort people have it. Nearest shop is like miles away.

Great place for rustic experience when you are in Pune.
Just about 2 hrs drive from Viman Nagar in Pune, this is a fort converted to a hotel where we went for a corporate dinner.
Since it was dark when we arrived, thanks to Pune traffic, we couldn't enjoy the scenic beauty of the place.
We had dinner, local Maratha cuisine, with an Aunty making Bhakris & Puranpolis for all of us.
There were boys performing the Maratha warrior skills and fireballs show for us.
I wish we had gone there when there was some sunlight to enjoy the scenic beauty also.

The rooms are amazing but the service is extremely poor, had to call reception so many times for basic things in the room. This place is good for a weekend getaway but there is nothing around here. Good of you want to experience traditional Maharashtrian culture.
