Camping grounds are to close and the reservation we made were cancelled due to an emoloyee telling us it would accomadate my trailer when it was clearly to small of a site. Glad we drove up to look at the site beforehand.

We went to the Frontier Christmas event 12-06-19 that evening. Very well done event with knowledgeable reenactors. There was a good crowd with both young and old attending. I recommend it to anyone wanting a good way to spend an entertaining night learning some history.

BEAUTIFUL facility! Our first time staying at a Kentucky State Park... as we are from Michigan. Loved the bath and Laundry facilities. Campground extremely cared for. We had not planned a trip here but stopped as needed a break from driving to Tennessee. Super freindly, got us in had a great spot. The only reason not giving 5 stars wad the noise... construction type equipment during the day, and highway close by. Pool was closed but it looked amazing!

Really enjoyed my visit to Fort Boonesborough! The reconstructed fort is fascinating and I was fortunate to be there when it was staffed up for some school outings that apparently didn't materialize because of the rain. Too early to use the pool. Only disappointment was the structure close to the river that is apparently no longer used and becoming an eyesore. Parks like this should be run for the public benefit and not seen as profit centers!

I have been here in the summer time and it's a VERY different experience now. There are zero restrooms if you want to take your kids to the park which is beautiful I'd suggest doing so before the potapotty are pretty bad. With little ones it does make it a bit hard. The trails are nice but as far as a day trip right now I would avoid it until they open things back up a little. At least the restrooms. The fort is closed till April. It's nice but I would avoid at least until things start opening back up.

Nice place sad to see some of the cabins down for repair some of the reenactors were not very talkative. The young guy doing the blacksmith display spent more time arguing with the middle school kids that were there about the technique he was using however was knowledgeable about what he was doing a couple of the cabins three and actors were more concerned about talking to themselves then interacting with people coming to visit

Mixed feelings. Very friendly staff and campers, but didn't know about the pollution on the Kentucky River until reading about why the beach house was closed and now derelict. Restrooms were okay, ran out of soap early Saturday, still not filled by late Sunday morning. Very crowded in early November, plan ahead if you're going.

A good place to visit with your family. There is a camping area by the river as well. The fort is a recreation of the original. Parking can be an issue when there is an event. You can find some unique items to buy, thus some interesting gifts. I bought an old style brass compass there, then I took it to an engraver, and gave it to my daughter when she graduated high school. We have been to it many times over the years. On a personal note, the cenotaph in front of the fort, with the names of original settlers, include a grandfather ancestor of mine, as well as his brothers. I only came to understand that not too many years ago. So you never know.

Great place camped in February and it got down to 18 at night loved it. Staff very nice and helpful. Nearby road was somewhat noisy almost all the time being that it s a steep hill and a lot of truck traffic. Nearby towns really nice and just enjoyable to visit.

My son was in town with his wife and we travelled along with my two younger children to Natural Bridge in July of 2027. We had a great time, received a vigorous workout and it was a quality time adventure for everyone. Can't wait to do it again.

Overrun with ferrell cats and racoon's that are not at all afraid to keep you from having a fire in the evenings. They become very active at night and will chase you growling. Also full price admission to the pool is ridiculous for campers and it is only 3.5' at the deepest location. Also the pool manager was a very rude person unless you were her local friend. The Fort only had 4 cabins occupied by artisans that were not that knowledgeable or interested in talking to visitors. Also charged full price (over$50) for the fort that was 80% empty/closed. Poorly managed park. Grass overgrown and not astitically pleasing. Highway traffic noise is also very noticeable and makes it hard to sleep. Stay away if you want to relax and get what you are paying for.

Super awesome park. Plenty of spaces. Primitive area is choose your own. Showers and laundry are very clean. Stayed two nights in the middle of August and had a relaxing quiet stay, thanks Kentucky! Much love from Arkansas.

We had a great time even though we only stayed on night passing through. The only reason for only 4 stars is our site was not very level and it was hard to get it perfect.
Everybody was very helpful and friendly! We will be back but reserve a different site :)

Clean park with nice playgrounds for children. Very nice RV park with clean restrooms and showers. Has a mini golf course that is quite fun. Great place for families. Large open mowed fields for playing and nice paths for walking or biking. Just a short walk to the KY river.

We have visited this park 21 times over the last dozen or so years on our trip up to Ohio and back. There are few full service sites with sewers but all the rest have Water and Electric hookups. Some of the sites are way too small for today's RV's and several are prone to flooding during rainy periods. All in all a very convenient stop on our way North and back.

Great place to take the kids. Whether it's for a little round of mini golf at the nearby park, or to visit the Fort. Make sure to wear sunscreen and bug repellent. The kids learned a lot about colonial life and we had a full day.

Visited over the weekend with my grandson. There wasn't any demonstrations going on while we were there which was a little disappointing but we still had a great time. As a 10 y/o my grandson is very inquisitive so he asked questions and got answers from the workers. He also found several items he wanted from the gift shop. He saw things he'd never seen before and came away feeling he knew more about Kentucky's heritage than when we arrived. I felt the workers there was knowledgable. We especially liked talking to the man with the powder horns. My big complaint is lack of parking. When we arrived there was no empty parking places. We had to wait by the road until someone left to get their parking spot. I'm sure a lot more people would tour the place if they could get a place to park.

Though some of the park was closed, we did visit the beach along the Kentucky River. Lots of room to set up a canopy tent. The beach is Sandy and the river isn t too fast here. Great place for a picnic!
