Was passing through & seen the sign so thought I'd drop by to check it out. Was not disappointed. My daughter who was traveling with me learned so much from the few "older"people there who were showing off their "tech"" skills (as she put it). Would love to have more hands on teaching.....but the place is a bounty of history, a harvest of knowledgeable people, all surrounded by the wall's a fort built with the desire to share this knowledge with the public in true Kentucky grace & honor .A MUST SEE!!!!
Offers AAA & AARP & MILITARY DISCOUNTS.....ALSO ALLOWS SERVICE ANIMALS.!

RUDE RUDE RUDE......My kids and I stopped by the fort on our way to the campground. The sign said they closed at 3:45. We arrived at 3:00 and went inside to pay. An older woman was working and was rude to us from the start. She did not bother to say hi, just said "Didn't you read the sign? We close at 3:45." I told her "Yes, we read the sign and we have 45 minutes, can I purchase tickets?" She barked at us again and my kids started to feel uncomfortable. I was very disappointed in her lack of help and the fact that she was more concerned about closing in 45 minutes instead of being helpful. We walked through the fort since we had already stopped but I would not recommend it to anyone else based on our experience.

The actors were very knowledgeable about their individual trade and what life would have been like during that time period. We heard many stories and enjoyed all the displays and artifacts.

Great history that everyone should take the time to learn about and experience the culture of the Daniel Boone era in display at this park. Lots of events to take your family to and awesome place for school field trips. Located close to I75 and I64 so it's easy to get to.

If you're interested in early american history like I am, Ft. Boonesboro is not to be missed. A little imagination is all you need as you walk around the inside of the fort and take a gander inside all the structures ... you can get a real feel for what life would have been like for the early settlers of the region. A trip to the area can be made even more interesting by the many other natural and historic sites in the area.

Great Place! We stopped here in 2012 and stayed at the campground. We unfortunately weren't there on one of the days where they have lots of things going on, but there were still a few folks there demonstrating things. The staff (volunteers?) was great and spent time answering our endless questions. Would love to go back during one of their events.

The back of the campground near site 60 was under a major road and against a gravel production site that was very noisy and left dust everywhere. It was fine for our overnight stay, and the front of the campground would probably be more quiet. The facilities were nice and the grounds were well kept.

I love this place. Great for camping, swimming, fishing and boating, including kayaks. It's very well kept all of them time and never too crowded. Lots of space as well for privacy. This place is great for a moment of summer fun. I highly recommend kayaking on the river.

Absolutely a wonderful recreation of the fort that Daniel Boone once called home. They have a large campground and beautiful pool. Nearby boat ramp for access to the Ky river which offers great fishing and boating activities. Large grounds for wonderful events like the Boonesborough Boogie car show like we attended today.

Always a great experience. Even though I have experienced this place many times. I always come back. Even if its a little pricey when you go inside to see something you can watch for free on YouTube. But still the view and scenery is what pulls me in. I can care less about the getting admission into a little tiny cottage area. The nature is the best part and it's free.

The park is pretty and quite clean. Bathrooms are well maintained. Lots of trees and a well-enforced quiet time (11:00). We tent camped here and there is no shortage of shade. Biggest drawback is the proximity to a major road and a cement factory so it is quite noisy. We would perhaps visit again but would seek a site further away from the noise.

They charge a lot for their hook up sites, and primitive sites. They have a rather small, ugly looking mini golf course that cost you to play. It was hot, so we went to check out the beach and swim. Only to find the river water is toxic and the beech was washing up coal from the mines. And some police man said there was human fecal mater in the water and he explained how a man went to the hospital with a fever. The other option is there shallow pool, that yes has a separate fee to get in. After all this dissapointment we checked out there big building, I guess where they may have put on parties and it was boarded up with broken windows. Last, the staff makes you feel uncomfortable when your not in a huge camper, or with some big family outing. I showed up at 7:55 to their store and the man slowly walked up to the door and said "It's gonna be at least 10 mintues before where open.." and shuts the door in my face. Rude. I will never camp here again.

My family and I have visited the campground 3 times and we've enjoyed it each time. The staff at both the campground and the fort are great. We all enjoyed visiting the fort and throwing hatchets.

It was so nice to go see this and learn everything. I went with my parents and and grandma and my kids and we were all into everything. It was so awesome. We all had a great time. Price is not bad.

the people here could be a little more respectful and nice I mean you're actually paying their bills by buying things and going into the fort and it's not the actual fort its a replica the only good thing about this place is this soap as far as I'm concerned they can f*** off

I had not been there since I was in elementary school many years ago. It is even better than I remember. There is now a film to see that helped with the history. The demonstrators were very willing to share their knowledge. It was fun throwing an ax at a target. Pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Great staff, super friendly. They have lots of e events throughout the year for campers and the community. They have yard sales for the campers to participate in that are open for the community to enjoy and one of the best halloween events around and they offer several activities for the campers and their children to enjoy together.
