Small airport for such a big city. For a very clear and modern. Except for the passport officials, who were in a bad mood, all the staff were very nice and funny. Good public transport connection.

Probably the busiest airport in Germany. You always have to wait a very long time, everywhere there are long lines. Already two times the luggage was not unloaded from the plane and he flew on. And in general it s normal and clean. There are a lot of different shops and eateries where you can quickly have a bite to eat.

We always love to fly from Hamburg! The staff are totally helpful and the airport is very clean. Everything fine! The only drawback is the high parking fees. For the last flight, we booked the Easy Park car park when we went to the hunter in the travel agency! This is cheaper than the holiday parking lot, and it is even closer to the airport, you do not drive with a shuttle bus, but with a shuttle taxi, which is waiting for you directly in front of the exit upon arrival in Hamburg and your own car is not outside, but in a real parking garage that even has a heated waiting room!

The security can't speak English. I was very upset with them. The security staff was just trying to find a reason to sell me a plastic bag for 50 cents. I thought that was their own business.

The Hamburg airport has become really good after all the reconstruction work in recent years. Everything is clear, friendly and bright. You can find your way around here very quickly. I always try to fly from here, because there are a lot of good direct connections. The rapid-transit railway connection strengthened the public binding to the city again substantially, which one would have had to do much earlier. The prices for parking or in the shops in the airport are just typical airport style.

Certainly one of the worst airports in Germany. Bad service, long waiting times, slow check-in, scandalous security checks.

In my opinion, the best airport. Not so full and not so overloaded. Clear and there are great travel destinations every year.

Hamburg airport is a medium-sized regional airport with a decent range of flight destinations. It can easily reached by S Bahn line S1 from Hamburg Central Station in half an hour. The airport security is thorough but polite and there is a good range of shops.

As my home airport, I can only say everything well. Fast lane could sometimes be faster. Parking fee lower. But overall very clear. Everything easily accessible. Bussing of course annoying as everywhere. Better about the finger.

One of the cleanest and best organized airports I've ever been to!
Many parking facilities nearby. (Just please don't make the mistake and park in short-term parking spaces for over an hour. That will be expensive!)

Clear, quick handling, big duty free, BUT ... but I would like it to have an automatic shoe brush here to clean his shoes. Baggage claim is the slowest in Germany. Landed at 7:05 pm. Luggage was handed over to the baggage carousel at 19:47. This is not an isolated case, but the rule at Hamburg Airport. Therefore, a lot of travelers only try to fly to Hamburg with hand luggage. However, this makes the flight very stressful, as the luggage compartments are quickly filled and the hectic bustle begins.

Conclusion: luggage issue is reliably catastrophically bad in Hamburg.

The airport is clear but also had to find on my 4th visit that the security staff is very unfriendly you are actually not treated as a guest even though modern scanners are available you will be checked a bit roughly no please no thanks and no greetings

Impolite and incompetent security personnel.

Cannot even get simple things right and insist on rules that do not exist. When I asked them to provide a reference to a given rule they made a call and ended telling me that this rule was a nationwide order, not available to the public (they literally said that; in German: 'nationale Dienstanweisung, die der Oeffentlichkeit nicht zugaenglich ist'). Add to that an arrogant and impolite attitude and you have a pretty unpleasant situation. I guess that is what happens when you put people in some position of power. Abuse of power will naturally follow.

It was about me being told that I had to take my laptop out of my backpack. Now normally, that makes sense as there are potentially other objects in the backpack that will interfere with the x-ray machine. But not if you have one of those airport friendly backpacks that can be unzipped and flipped open, basically isolating the laptop compartment of the backpack with nothing impeding the x-ray machine. Amsterdam, Atlanta, Detroit, no complaints. In Hamburg it is apparently a big problem.

Then bus driver at walking pace to the terminal. Luggage still not there despite waiting in the plane and waited another 25 minutes. You want to be a cosmopolitan city, but more of a provincial level! If you offer flights from 6:00 am, then you should also open lounges and snack temples so that at least 2 are open, but only opening them from 5:00 am is really bad and the queues are rarely 30m for one Water!

I was hoping to find an email address to bring up this issue but as there isn't one available I can only post this review which would be a zero stars if it was an option. My husband missed his flight today due to the atrocious, chaotic way the gates are divided and changed at last minute! His flight was at last minute changed to gate A44 and he sadly was queuing up at gate A45 and learned at 11.56 that's his flight departed without him at 11.55! And his name was never called over the speakers to announce last call or anything!! He had to book a whole new flight and trains to get home today so hed be back for work in time and Ryanair won't take responsibility so they will get a review too

One of the best airports worldwide. Clean and perfectly signposted. The fastest I know. By means of fast lane use it is enough to be there 30 minutes before boarding. Also on arrival, I'm usually 15 minutes after leaving the plane outside the door, with checked luggage, mind you - this is record! Thanks to the location right in the city, this airport is very easy to reach, whether by train, bus or car. The time savings compared to other major cities is thus a total of 1-2 hours.

Every time my wife arrive in this airport she always heard from her colleagues of lost luggage, and now it happens to her. It seems like this airport's trademark is losing your luggage it's just a matter of who will suffer the fate.

I especially like the Hamburg airport because of its nice size, because you can reach everything very fast. The route network is also quite good, the airport itself clean and modern. Great, modern, worth a visit, very nice and helpful staff. We booked our New York vacation at the TUI counter hall 1. Very competent and polite staff (inside). Here real service takes place. From the Hamburg Air Port we start our holidays and here we go just once as an excursion and watch the planes on takeoff and land from the roof terrace.

The airport is clearly laid out and the self drop - off counter for luggage is very practical.
It's just a shame that the passengers are sometimes indiscriminately at the mercy of the staff at the security check. Be it annoyed reactions if not all parts of potentially dangerous objects are unpacked immediately, or the opposite. Is everything ready to hand to show, e.g. B. cell phone, power bank, etc., the answer of the employee is: "That doesn't interest me and it should be asked".
Do you really think that with such manners, the guests still want to talk to others? There are many people who have a lot of stress every day and are certainly also confronted with difficult guests, but they should show a certain professionalism in terms of appearance and behavior.

Hamburg Airport is ok, you only have to wait a long time

I had good experiences so far with this airport. Could easily pick up known and get started immediately and when I flew myself, I came quickly through the clearance and security, so could kill time in the various shops and restaurants!

Departure Monday morning at 9:20. (Once again) almost missed the flight, because 70 minutes in the queue before the security check. As a result, total travel time to FRA about 3.5 to 4 hours.
