I love that the furniture is strong and stands up to everyday use. What I don't like is that the material on the cushions come apart. We didn't mind paying extra for our furniture but thought the material would last as long as the furniture itself. I didn't think it would pull apart after a few years.
We have own a flexsteel couch for 19 years, it has served us well, replaced the cushion foam at about 9 years. It still looks wonderful, but time for a new one, just order a new reclining sofa, hope it is as good as this one.
Our first sofa set from Flexsteel was on 20 years of daily use with just the cushions needing to be redone. This new recliner love seat and sofa do not share the same quality, not even close! Clunky operation, seem to twist when being operated, and the backs are extremely loose and wobbly when in the normal position. We had it replaced once already, not even a year and it's the same situation.
Bad BAD customer support. I was enjoying putting the 4 door cart together until I got to the top and there were already screws in the holes I was supposed to use. I emailed pictures to the address on the first page of the instructions, and didn't hear back. So I called. Customer Support said no email had arrived. So I forwarded it to the exact same address, and they had to admit it arrived. Nick said I should unscrew the screws and then attach the top. That made me uncomfortable. I no longer like the unit. Before this Bad experience re the top, which is still sitting loose on my unit, I loved it and enjoyed looking at it. Now I can't let the kids next door in to help me because they could inadvertently pull the top down on themselves. :-( I no longer enjoy seeing it.
Have FlexSteel in the whole house. Never had any issues with it. I just took the local family owned business word what to buy and they were right. They knew what would and wouldn't hold up. 2 dogs and a 2 year old. Looks great.
Our house now has living room, home office and dining room pieces from Flexsteel. My wife is a huge fan of the Plymouth dining room table and the home office pieces because of the pretty finish. My kids like the three recliners built into the Trip sofa and the dog loves the Nance (he only gets on when we aren't home...sneaky dog!). I am a fan of the quality and appreciate the lifetime warranty on the products!!
I ordered a flex steel rocker-recliner,( Flint ), in October of 2020. I ordered it with custom fabric. I waited 9 long, long months for this chair to arrive. When my chair arrive the frame is broken. When I sat in the chair and raise my legs I was getting hit in the rear. The service department from the furniture store checked the chair and we could visually see the frame was broke. The chair arrived in a box that was in perfect condition from Flexsteel. How does a broken chair get through your quality checks and get sent to the customer. The furniture store states they will try to repair it. When I pay $1,300.00 dollars for a custom chair, I expect it to be perfect! My whole house has flex steel furniture, I am beyond angry. I m sure that I m a dime a dozen, but right now I have nothing good to say to anyone about your company! A very unsatisfied customer
I now understand why the furniture is only offered in most discounted furniture palces. I've ordered high-end pieces from a specific, popular retailer and they arrived within weeks without damage.
Except, it did not hold up to the quality they advertised. When you contact them to resolve the issue, they tell you to contact the manufacturers customer service themselves.
The Flexsteel product I purchased 48 months ago only after taking 6+ weeks to get, has some major flaws as it is supposed to be a high grade leather, except the material just cracked and separated into pieces leaving holes in the seat within 36 months.
If this was the case I would not have bought leather as my old couches lasted 10+ years without much wear and tear and were a lot less expensive.
This is not your normal wear and tear. This is a defect in the material itself.
Spend the extra money and buy from a brand you already trust. This was the worst customer experience of my life. When spending this kind of money, you should expect better quality products and definitely better service.
I wasn't able to use no star option, so they got a 1 star.
We have owned three Flexsteel sofas. Unfortunately, we are disappointed with our last sofa purchase. Within a month, the fabric looked a decade old. Puckering at the seams, etc. It's as if the cushions are understaffed. Ditto for the pillows. Corners are stitched or upholstered poorly. The manufacturer has been unwilling to address.
I absolutely love the reclining couch and chair I bought nearly 15 years ago. It has held up remarkably well despite children and two pit bulls. I am searching for my next flexsteel set! I m tempted to pay to reupholster mine I love it so much!
