Absolutely love this place, very family-friendly. Will return many times in the future! This place helps rehabilitate animals. It is NOT A ZOO. It is a wildlife sanctuary, with a great selection of Florida wildlife, including a wildlife encounter show. The entire place takes you back in time, to the old Florida which is largely disappeared from the rest of South Florida. The botanical gardens are beautiful, with diverse and rare tropical plants and trees from around the world. Flamingo Gardens is worth every cent of the entrance fee, and you can be assured that your money is going to a good cause.

I've had pictures of this place in my baby album. Lol I think ive been back only once. Then some family came into town and I went again . This place is beautiful with all the natural wildlife its wonderful. And the peacocks were in their mating season so feathers were on full display. You call also take a trolly around the park for a guided tour.. It's really nice. Want to go back with my husband and some friends.

This was a fantastic experience. I recommend it to everyone in the whole area. The price is $19.95 per person with discounts to students and military being 20% off. They had a nice display of lights while walking around. The tram tour was every 30 minutes and stopped at 4:00 p.m. and was a delight to use to tour the property. There were a ton of amazing birds as you can see in the photos and was awesome to interact with them. They have food dispensers throughout the park that cost 25 cents a piece. So make sure to bring your quarters. There are also a couple concession stands depending on the season. I would give this activity being around 3 hours to completely do. There is also a little art gallery too. There are natural Florida habitat, conservation projects, jungles, and fruit trees. The gift shop is quite nice and small. If you love birds this is definitely the place to go.

Awesome place to visit. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were able to see the feeding of all of the animals. Use the 2:1 admission of Fort Lauderdale website. You can hand feed flamingos.

Interesting mix of petting zoo and rescue farm. All animals have been rescued, and they seem reasonably happy. Large walk through aviary. Parking on site and a little train rates people around. Definitely good for kids.

Flamingo Gardens is a beautiful oasis for when you're looking for an escape from the city. We enjoyed the tram tour. Our guide, Carol, was so enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge of the plants and animals. We saw a Florida Panther for the first time, and loved watching the otters play.

It was an amazing experience and I got phenomenal pictures. The reason I didn t give 5 stars was upon viewing the food bowl of the sun conures, to my shock it was 70% sunflower seeds. As a sun conure owner myself knowing how important a proper diet is less than 10% should be seeds this very much upset me. I really hope they fix this soon.

Beautiful and well kept wildlife sanctuary. While its mostly birds, they do have a large alligator, a very large snapping turtle, a wide variety of turtles in ponds, a cougar, and a large healthy black bear. I have to mention the lovely koi pond! They havr a wonderful tram ride that covers an additional 50 acres (?) that are not part of the normal exhibits. The tram ride tour is included in admission (its every 30 mins.). The tram ride is quite informative as I found myself excited about horticulture. This place was well worth the visit and price and friendly peacocks were just everywhere along with an assortment of other birds and wild life.

What an incredible day trip for us! The Aviary is gorgeous and such a treat. If you get a chance to tour the Wray house that is on the property, please do. So many original items that add to the history of the property. The animal enclosures really allow the public to see the animals in all of their glory! Loved it and we will make the 2 hour drive to return.

Pretty good. Our girls 4 and 7 enjoyed it. We did it in about 90m while on our way to the airport. POSITIVES: feeding flamingos (will eat out if the kids hands), some cool birds of prey on display, it is a rescue park not a zoo and the funds help needing animals. NEGATIVES: price is high for what they have availablen($20 for adults and 14 for kids). You wouldn't be able to stay entertained for more than a couple hours. The show is kind of lame, 30 minutes of which they spend 15 talking about a box turtle, 5 showing a kite, and 10 a rescued raccoon.

This animal sanctuary / botanical garden is very nice. The animals here are unable to survive in the wild on their own, either because of a permanent injury, or because they've imprinted on humans and lack the skills to survive. They all seemed well cared for and loved by the staff. The tram tour (included in the admission) was informative and fun. Definitely allow several hours to see everything.

My rating is about the food truck event they have the first Friday of each month. Its free to park and to attend, there are about 10 trucks with a variety of good food, not great. There is a free DJ and kids love it. Bring your own chairs and friends and hang out for a few hours. Beer and wined ius served for $4-$5 or you can bring your own. Its a great time.

Price here is OUTRAGES!! I never see anyone buying any decorations and only a bit of plants. This place is beautiful and fun to be at with the family but if they lower there prices just a bit it will make a KILLING no doubt..dont expect to come here to spend ur full budget on ur landscape.

This place was awesome. My mom came to visit from Ny. and I took her here not knowing anything about the place. I walked in and expressed my ignorance, the lady closest to the door gave a very well put together "what I could expect" speech that was tailored to the time of my arrival. This was extremely comforting.

The tram tour of the back portion of the place was very nice. I live in Florida so I'm aware of quite a bit of the nature we have, although it's impossible not to learn something during the tour.

The animals were very cool to see, the enclosures looked well maintained. My favorite was the bobcats. They were sleeping; typical cat business, especially for nocturnal ones; however I was able to get a video of one with its tongue out.

I highly enjoyed feeding the flamingos and ibis' for that matter. Don't just feed the first one you see, call one from the back, they have personality.

The Wray house was super cool. I'd say opt in for the guided tour, you'll get so much more from this time capsule display.

Every single staff or volunteer member I encountered exceeded my expectations. Simply put, there's a good thing going on here.

The team tour, with our Very Knowlegable, well spoken guide, was well worth the price. Beautiful plantings, ancient trees, exotic birds, we even saw a Florida Panther from about 25 feet away! Fantastic time. Bought well made, reversible, flamingo print face masks as souvenirs in the gift shop. Temporary art installation of life like Lego art was neat. Peacocks everywhere!

The gift store staff are petty, mean-spirited and inhospitable. Membership in Flamingo Gardens is highly discouraged. As much as I love the flora and animals at Flamingo Gardens, it isn't worth the harassment.

Enjoy all the animals the only downfall was that its States on the website that it's taking donations but when we arrived we had to pay an admission fee other than that it was very enjoyable

Spent the whole entire day there and loved it. Took our 12 and 13 yr old niece and nephew and had a blast. Watched all the shows and saw everything and felt like we still needed more time. We will definitely be back!!

So happy I finally made it here. Loved seeing all of nature's gifts and beautiful vibrant colors of flamingos and peacocks which roamed freely among the visitors. The staff were incredible and the tram tour is so worth it! Will definitely be back

Interesting, relaxing, informative and very reasonably priced. All animals are rescue and cannot be released for one reason or another. A walk through Floyd L and Jane Wrays house was enjoyable and educational. The grounds are well kept and seeing the biggest tree in Florida was pretty cool. Well worth a morning or afternoon trip.
