Been eating here for decades on special occasions. Cannot give a rating high enough. This place competes easily with the finest places to dine on the planet. Wonderful family ownership through generations still persists to this day. This is a Boulder landmark. A place of amazing peace, incredible food, and an amazing view. Thank you to all at the flagstaff house.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Flagstaff house on a Thursday evening we will bless to get the northwest corner table with a view, the service and the meal was magnificent!
Highly recommend for special occasions and the location and views made our evening spectacular!

Now if your looking for wow. This is it. Has it all.. service that you have never experienced. Good you will love and the best view of Denver you can find. Year round this is the best date night place ever..

I wish there was a "yeah, but" rating. The view is 5 star. The food was excellent, but the service (which should be amazing) was actually pretty bad for a party of 14 in a private dining section. I actually had to pull the manager aside a few times... Disappointing for such a great place.

The Flagstaff House is known as one of the best places to eat in Boulder, and the Greater Denver Area. My experience there was okay.

I recommend that you make a reservation prior to coming here; we did so, and were seated promptly, despite being a little early.

The ambience is perhaps the main draw of the Flagstaff House, in addition to the food. Be warned that not all seats in the house have equally great views. We were seated in a corner with what was mostly a view of the other patrons at the restaurant, a wall, and the emergency exit. If any of the management at the Flagstaff House is reading this review, I suggest they remove said table.

The staff are very attentive, and the service was great. There are dedicated servers who will take your order, refill your drinks, and bring bread by, periodically. I cannot say enough good about the service at the restaurant. If you have any food allergies, the staff are very careful about accommodating them.

The Flagstaff House is also known for the expansive wine selection. I did find their selection to be comprehensive, and quite thorough. The wine is, as one would expect, fairly expensive. There are multiple several thousand dollar selection on the wine menu. If you're looking for beer, their bottle selection is good; they don't have beer on draft as far as I could tell. Their cocktail selection is interesting, and very well-made. If you don't feel like spending too much money on wine, the cocktails are great.

All in all, for the price, the experience was only okay. If you're planning on coming here for a special occasion, make reservations and highlight that fact to the host or hostess that makes said reservation.

Food was a bit disappointing; lukewarm, not very flavourful. Service was a bit pompous, and they made several mistakes (e.g. giving wrong people dishes). Nice views and generally pleasant experience overall. But for the price ($180 a head) you'd expect better.

I went here for my retirement. My girlfriend brought me here and the food was wonderful better than I expected. The service was exceptional and the servers were marvelous. I have no complaints about anything this place although expensive and hyped it was worth every dime. I'm going to come back again soon.

A wonderful staff greeted my son with a Happy Birthday. Our table was positioned perfectly with a grand and beautiful view of Boulder. It was breathtaking as the sun set and the city lights began to glimmer. Our meal was at 8pm and I highly recommend the later hour. The waitress was polite, gracious and kind. The meal was presented artistically with many unique options. We had a very memorable evening that we will treasure forever.

We went with the standard menu of choosing three courses rather than the tasting menu. I went for the baby beets, wild mushrooms popover and Nova Scotia halibut supplemented with lobster tail. Every dish was really good but have to say that was pleasantly surprised with the baby beets.

Great experience. Very upscale place with beautiful views of Boulder and the front range. Food was great and unlike many other upscale places I have been, they weren't stingy and actually gave us a number of small appetizers and deserts to go with our main course.

When it comes to pretentious dining, this is where you go. I mean, you're going to pay a lot of money for this and I'm sure you know that before you go. I can't really say whether it was worth it or not because I don't dine on this upscale of a level, usually. Everything was completely professional there was no slip up anywhere. Everything tastes fine.

Disappointed after visiting on Mother's Day. Staff was amazing and of course view was spectacular. 30 years since my last visit as I graduated from CU. Bottom line is for $200 for 2 people (excluding alcohol) for brunch... tiny portions of food served and they couldn't even get my order right. My sister ate her meal while mine had to be sent back because I'd ordered the eggs hard and the kitchen sent out completely runny eggs. I ended up eating more bread then anything as I waited for them to fix my eggs benedict. I paid an extra $24 for lobster and I kid you not, I received 3 bites of lobster. For almost $100/person, getting an order right is imperative and for goodness sake give us enough food to justify that price! This place has become too crowded, commercial and quality/quantity of food is sorely lacking. Felt like I was in a tourist trap!! Living in Cherry Creek with a multitude of fine dining restaurants to visit, I won't be back to FH. Again, can't beat the view but just drive up the mountain yourself and bring a picnic.

Fine cuisine, ambiance, service. Very attentive, knowledgeable staff, from valet to sommelier. Original recipes using hard to find foods - New Zealand King Salmon. Live out of state but try to go there whenever possible.

We held our Wedding Reception here a year ago and it was perfect. Annie was amazing to work with. Very professional and detail oriented! We didn't even need a wedding planner after talking to Annie. If you are thinking of holding any event here, Annie is your girl.
The ambiance and staff were amazing as well on wedding reception day. Couldn't ask for a more professional staff. Scott even opened a bottle of Hibiki 17 for us that day.
We had the wedding cake made by their Chefs and it was THE best cake we've ever had. Our guests kept complimenting on the cake and food.

We returned today for our 1 year Anniversary and they did not disappoint. Andres was very attentive and helpful throughout our entire dinner experience. We got to see Scott again and the Chefs were on point! We'll be returning each year at the very least. Thank you!

An incredibly amazing place to go for dinner! Not sure if there's any other restaurant in Boulder that catches the ambience and beauty of the mountains as well as Flagstaff House does. The food was absolutely incredible and they truly make you feel comfortable there.

Post the pandemic it was my second time to Flagstaff House. My friends and I were there to celebrate a very special birthday and after some time of being on quarantine it was such a wonderful feeling to be dining at a restaurant that I had fond memories of - until partway through dinner there was a table next to us with a woman who was walking around barefooted and talking loudly to the table next to her, going back-and-forth between her party and the other party. It was such a disruption of our dinner and made me essentially lose my appetite for the last course. Non of the staff in the restaurant really did anything about it. I saw staff members just looking at her and watching as she carelessly would go pick off the plate of food from the table next to her. Half of the party at the second table looked really uncomfortable during dinner. It was definitely hard to ignore her behavior. Not only was she obnoxiously loud her friends at her dinner table would have to walk her to the bathroom and back to their table as if she was overly intoxicated.

Other than that our server was terrific and she offered us great service throughout our dining reservation.
Concurrently, there was also a wedding happening which was wonderful to see the bride and groom come through the doors during dinner time.

The customer service was AMAZING! The food was super fancy but we felt like it could have used a little more salt... we re not super fancy people though so maybe that s just us. Also the portions seemed really small but we were both full by the end of the meal.

What an amazing place! Easy to get to, food is fantastic, but what really made it a great experience was the staff! From the vallet to our waiters and waitresses everyone was so kind and fun to talk to! It was our first time and we will definitely be back!

The most outstanding part of our experience was the service. It was almost like a well executed production with each part getting it exactly right. We never had an empty wine glass, the food was paced perfectly, staff was kind and professional and anticipated our every need. Additionally, the setting is stunning and the food interesting and unique but not bizarre. There is something on the menu for everyone. For us, it is a special occasion event. It is at a higher price point and not the kind of decadence we might pursue on a regular basis.

My family and I have enjoyed every experience we have had at the Flagstaff over the last ten plus years. The food, service and ambiance have always been an excellent experience. The service all the way down the line to the valet driver is excellent!

We held our event at the Flagstaff house a few weeks ago. The location is beautiful, the food was great and the staff was very nice and helpful- particularly in planning. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend my friends or family have an event there. At the end of the day, my husband and I felt taken advantage of. For our group of 47, we paid full menu prices for food and wine and the servers poured more than we had requested. When we spoke about our problems with a manager, he apologized and offered a gift card ( we don't even live in Colorado). I just didn't get the impression he cared in the least about how we felt or in resolving it in a way that felt fair- he just kept apologizing to get me off the phone.

First, I'll warn you that this place is expensive. Expect $150 per person. I have dined at some great restaurants from Maui to Philly and I can say this was one of the most expensive. It is a step back in time with the multiple courses and over the top service. Service was exceptional with numerous servers and the frequent tableware exchanges. It was also a lengthy meal experience. The food quality was in line with most other top rated restaurants but I have had better for far less. Flagstaff House is a great place to celebrate a big event or impress a date but for me it was just sticker shock. I am rating this a 4 because this type of expensive experience may be just what some are looking for but for me it's about the food.

Yes, the experience is pricey, but the food is always fantastic, the cocktails never miss, and the staff are always knowledgeable and on top of their game and make you feel like you are right where you belong. And you feel like you are hovering in the sky looking out over boulder. This is a great place for a special event!!!

Amazing food and service. The view will leave you breathless both in the day and at night. Many dishes compliments of the chef. And you'll leave with a loaf of bread for breakfast the next day!

Views are breath taking. Food fell short. Over cooked, and small portions. Coffee was warm at best. My dessert was chosen for me and consisted of one Strawberry sliced very thin and splayed open. Staff immediately collected dishes once you had set your fork down. Quite imposing. Not worth the money.

Very nice upscale restaurant. Very pricey but a great place for a special evening. They serve little trays of food complimentary of the chef between courses that are very good. The views are spectacular from almost anywhere in the restaurant. Would recommend checking weather conditions before heading up flagstaff mountain however in the event of snow and/or ice. It's a very steep ascent.

The filet melted in my mouth and the staff was great. Couldn't have asked for more! Yes its very expensive, but thats why your going. Don't get me wrong there is food in boulder that is the same if not a little better but are missing the magic that Flagstaff has, and thats what your paying for.

This was my first time dining at Flagstaff House and I'm already wanting to go back. The service was impeccable, the food was divine, there were precautions in place to prevent Coronavirus but many of them took place behind the scenes and did not detract from the ambiance at all. The view elevated the experience above and beyond expectations. Five stars all around!

ITS NOT WORTH IT. The prices are ridiculous. Good food and an interesting menu. The service was good, but beside the valet parking it reminded me of a Red Lobster with light fixtures. The prices were quite extreme and I think the flavors on some of the dishes didn't quite succeed in what the chefs were intending for, and if it did, it was missing something. Some of the dishes were mind blowingly delicious, however I highly do not agree that it was worth that price. It was an experience that I will appreciate but I definitely would NOT go again. I had had better food at a french restaurant in Denver the night before, and for 3x's as cheaper, and the following nights as well at cheaper places seeing as how I was visiting some of the highest rated places in the area for dining this place I would definitely skip. For it being as nice of a place that it is requiring a dress code I definitely expected better and was let down. I discourage anyone who thinks about this place to go to another nice restaurant in the area. I would give it way more stars because it WAS good... but it wasn't as good as what it had been made to seem by their website. "All bark, no bite."

We make yearly trek up the mountain to have our anniversary dinner. My wife is a wine sommelier and she loves the wine list, second to none in Boulder. Food is great along with impeccable service. Get the window table and enjoy the view!

AMAZING views and an excellent wine selection. I would suggest going on a week night so you can get a good view of Boulder out the panoramic window. Great overall experience... we love to go back for special occasions.

We had a reservation at 7:30pm on a Tuesday. The place was super empty, but they only gave us two seating options. One was the back of the seating area near no windows, the other was in the corner of the room with a tiny amount of window room but by the bar and entrance.

The main reason this was annoying was because of how empty the place was. Literally only 4 other groups were there. There were also plenty of other seating options with better views that they didn't open up for guests.

The main draw of this restaurant is the view, and we didn't really have much of one.

They also didn't offer an ala carte menu which they imply they have on their website.

You have to get at least three courses.

The food and staff were fine, exactly what you'd expect for a place like this.

Bottom line, this is a tourist trap restaurant. Don't expect the great views they promise on their website even on non-busy nights. Just not worth min. $100/person for that experience.

I'd recommend instead packing a picnic and parking at one of the many vista points. Better view, much cheaper, and more intimate.

Absolutely fantastic! I haven't been here for many years but it was just as magical as I remembered! The view cannot be matched. The service is impeccable. And the food and wine are truly special. This was a great way to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, as well as Valentine's Day. If you're going to splurge, do it here!

We had dinner here to celebrate my wife's enlistment into the Air National Guard. They took great care of us and they made the dinner extra special. The scenery and atmosphere were amazing, but the good and the service is what makes this place really special.

First off, the wait staff and view were awesome.... the food however does not match the price tag. My wife and I went here with another couple and dropped $1000 for dinner. For the price, I was left feeling dissatisfied. Places like Bistro Vendome and Barolo Grille are much better bang for the buck.

The wine pairings weren't all that delightful either.
