Great breakfast!! Fabulous view!! One of my favorites!!

Below average steak and lamb chops for 50 dollars each. The view is the only reason I would go here if you can get away with not ordering food would do that. I had to hit up my hotel gift shop for food after I got home from the restaurant.

The fancy description and the expensive menu caught my eye.
But, it was very disappointing. The heat was unbearable and their fans were only working above some tables. The food came late, even if it was not a busy night. The crab chowder was good enough. The pork ribs were dry, too salty, tasteless, and the side dish, the purple potato puree was tasteless too. The fresh caught fish was also tasteless, the beets on the side were from a can. The chocolate mouse dessert was too sweet, and the sugar was not dissolved in the mousse. There were bugs on the floor. The price? For what we had there, extremely overpriced. The view was very nice, hence the one star.

The view was nice, the food was barely mediocre, but the price was rediculous. 4 pieces of chicken wings for $20! I will never go back.

The happy hour is from 2pm even though Google says it's closed. Happy hour specials are good although the food could use some improvement. The presentation of the sushi is lackluster I hope it's not because it's happy hour.

They are expensive for the food, but directly at the ocean...
Have been there many times BUT TODAY was a rather unpleasant visit. The fried potatoes looked and tasted like as if they were made yesterday. I complained. The waiter started to argue with me....I ordered decaf coffee and they served cofinated coffee which made me sick and I didn't sleep the intire night.
Not many customers as far as I can tell, but we waited 20 min+ for them to present our bill. Hope they will improve.

Horrible service and our server Rihana had a nasty attitude. Some of the profits should be spent on behavioral training for her. Will be contacting management.

Food was very good, views were perfect. I d get there a little earlier so you can get a good table. Definitely make reservations ahead of time. We were there for breakfast at 8am and it wasn t very crowded. Picked up around 9.

Food was OK but way over priced. Guess you pay for the view.

Really good food with enough selection that anyone could find something. The view is amazing - right on the beach. Limited parking in a paved lot and nearby public parking in a gravel lot.

The food was overpriced...my chicken was small and dry.. my husband's ribs were mushy and nasty! The rolls were powdery! Don't waste your money!

This place is amazing! Great views, delicious food, and good service! We had the surf & turf special. All I can say is, Wow!

Lousy service. Didn't clean away old appetizer plates or refill water. Waitress disappeared for lengthy periods. Forgot to bring out one of the dishes we ordered, so had it removed from bill. Beautiful view though!

This is a beautiful place! We went for Christmas dinner. I had the Opakapaka and my wife had the prime rib. We both really enjoyed the look and taste of our meals.
We were hoping for a nice sunset but it stormed instead, which was amazing to watch!

food was good, views were divine, fresh breeze, the air is salty and heavenly, beach is next door creating quite a distraction. it s almost impossible to eat let alone do any kind of concentrated activity when there s a beach next to you. i ve learned my lesson. next time i ll take my food to go and hang out with my beaches.
overall, everything was lovely. the reason for the lower rating was because the food (for the price) wasn t that great. perhaps it was just too early to enjoy anything in my mouth. (i only got breakfast maybe other items are better)
but if you re looking for a place to eat with a good view and a little overpriced - go here.

Food was average. Atmosphere was nice. Service was slow and disorganized. Luckily our group was more interested in socializing with each other, but had we gone for the food or service we would have been disappointed.

Beautiful sunset view. The Surf and Turf special was tasty. Manager personally made sure things were good. My husband had the pork ribs and they were so tender and yummy. It was a fabulous dinner.

My girlfriend and I went here for her birthday dinner. The sushi was excellent and the happy hour was great! Our waitress and the sushi chefs were very friendly and made our experience great! I'm not sure where the mixed reviews come from. It is overall a very good place to eat!

There is no reason to go here other than for the view.
Our anniversary supper was totally spoiled by pork ribs being served which were so dry and tough we had to ask the server for a better knife to cut them with. Whomever prepared these ribs cannot truthfully call themselves a chef.
Forget the view and go elsewhere.

Nice ambiance with the large windows facing the sea. Perfect for sunsets. The service was great with Leah? being very cheerful and helpful. The coconut shrimp was overcooked and so so flavor. My lamb Kalbi ribs were very good, tasty, and tender. My wife's kula salad with grilled chicken was nothing special except I believe the greens were local sourced. The dessert: creme brulee in a pineapple shell was good, but the Kona mudslide was ok. The chocolate syrup was cold. It would have been better warm. Pricey for the food quality.

Absolutely perfect was to start your Maui trip. Jude (our server) was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and the happy hour is amazing. A+!

Great if you're looking for higher-end prices on food

The only reason we found this place was because they serve breakfast/brunch everyday until 2pm. Being a laid back vacationer I am I can definitely appreciate not being rushed to run to a restaurant to only have breakfast not served to you at 11am. I believe 2 pm is a great cutoff time. Anyway we walked into this place after some long distance parking because this restaurant is in a resort hotel on the beach. The walk is worth it...believe that. You are eating your food in an open air and breathtaking view restaurant. The staff are cool and nice to talk to. Food is great. Keep in mind Bobby Flay or Guy Fieri are not cooking this food. I bumped into one of the cooks and told him the Portuguese sausage was very tasty and he didn't cook enough of it for my plate. (Joke) Anyway he laughed and we exchanged fist bumps.. acknowledgement of his fine cooking skills on the grill. Kids loved their food as always and if your kids need a kids menu they have it and they can also color on it. ( Crayons provided) Great portions and did I mention the view? Wow. Hidden gem of a restaurant and I am not going to tell you the resort name because I want to stay here next time I come to Maui. 5 Palms gets all my stars. Great job guys/gals!!

Great place for breakfast. Beautiful scenery! Right off the beach.

We had a very disappointing meal here recently on our elopement night. Lobster was overcooked and very rubbery, rice over cooked and just overall lackluster. I am giving 2 stars because the cocktails and wine were delicious.

Once environment. Went for happy hour. Had great prices and good variety. Maybe a little slow getting food out but they were busy.

This rating is for the drinks/bar only, as we didn t eat here. The bar was very lively and they had great happy hour specials, along with a solid selection of beers. Great place to come watch the sunset and have a few drinks.

Beautiful view of the ocean while you enjoy your breakfast or lunch. Be prepared to throw down for your meal and/or drinks if you decide to stop here, though! The food was certainly excellent, but the service was less than average. While there is something to be said for non-intrusive service, this was not that. When you drop the kind of cash you're gonna spend here, your glass should never be empty. If you're ok with spending a leisurely morning/afternoon on the patio, this could be the place for you!

Only 2 active Covid 19 cases in the county of Maui but most restaurants and residents are apprehensive to move forward. I m greatful that they re one of the first to reopen. I encourage all local residents to support this establishment, I certainly will. The dining experience and the staff were amazing.

Bread was as hard as a rock. Main dish is 90 $ for 2 and poor small ganish and source was so very dry to eat. The rest was ordinary.

Favorite happy hour on the island of Maui! Happy hour sushi is great! Recommend the sashimi trio with maguro, salmon, and hamachi. Not a sushi fan? No problem! The BBQ ribs or Korean chicken wings are ridiculous. A must try though are the crispy brussel sprouts. They are made with smoked bacon and sweet onion jam with a balsalmic syrup and shaved parmigiano-reggiano cheese. Delicious...

We had dinner here after our beach wedding in Makena. The sunset was absolutely breathtaking. Food and service was great!

I got married here August 2019. The staff was great in making the event spectacular. The food was good and the location can't be beat. This photo was taken with a regular cell phone just outside the restaurant. How can you beat this view?

Waited 2 hours for a table, kept being asked if I wanted to sit in the bar when I made perfectly clear that I wanted a table. An ocean view tables was offered to the party behind me (with the same number os people), because the manager said I wouldn t want to pay the $25 fee to sit at that location. After being judged by mine and my wife s looks we decided to leave the place. Our friends said the food was overpriced and not very good.

Was there the other day and outside of having a stellar view of the sunset, for the cost of drinks and the meals I'd definitely pass on a second visit for dinner......... Very salty food and little flavour, drinks were good not great.... The service was 10/10

I would like to say that we were very unhappy with everything at this restaurant.
The view was lovely but the staff were just not interested in being there, it seemed.
We ordered burgers with fries and onions rings and nothing was seasoned. The fries and the onion rings had been deep fried until they were dark brown, so hard it made it difficult to cut.
Looking at previous reviews it seems that the staffing and food issues are an ongoing problem and still hasn t been addressed.
My advice to management is that your staff all needs to be retrained.

Would only go during daylight if you re optimizing for an ocean view (there aren t a ton in Kihei). We went after sunset, and it was not worth it. Service was not good (they rushed us out - seemed like everyone was hoping to close early) and food was just ok - just typical, beach food and not worth the price.

Nice view of the sunset. Steak and lobster...beef was small and tough, lobster was tiny, drinks were high, service was slow and waiter forgetful. At times like this and slow tourist counts, they should be busting as to entice locals to return.

Great food and what a view! The wait staff are attentive and super! Ask for Missy, she is extra sweet and knows the island ! They offer discounted pricing for locals so the price won t disappoint you. My favorite is brunch or lunch! Great selection and ono drinks and other libations that are their specialty . Love this place then can go beach afterwards ~ !

From 3-7 p.m. there is a half-off sushi, appetizers and drinks happy hour. I wouldn't go especially out of my way to get here, but if you're in the area, food hits the spot.

The food and service is fantastic. Would highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner with your spouse or if you want to bring the whole family that would work too.

Amazing bloody Mary's with all the fixings :) eggs Benedict was perfectly poached and the potatoes were soft and flavored. Service was great. View was perfect! Perfect breakfast spot!

This place has a great breakfast. It's a bit expensive but if you like good food, worth it! Service is a little slow but you have an amazing view to ease the wait.

Great appetizers that are half 1/2 price on their Happy Hours and I believe they have two 2 Happy Hours!! They have one in the Early Evening and one in the Late Hours of the night, I think?? Food was delicious but - a BIG BUT - the service was absurd. We sat at the bar and watched the bartender walk by us multiple times, stop in front of us multiple times, and clean glasses all before we finally flagged her down to ask if we could bother her to ask for a drink. Then, when we asked for another drink, she used our same glass with watered down ice to make the next drink - uh, hello bar tending 101?? The bartender was either treating us poorly for no apparent reason (maybe we looked younger and she expected a weak tip from us - we appreciate bartenders and tip 20+%), is incompetent, or just doesn't give a ****. Either way, that one experience will likely prevent us from returning, despite the excellent food.

Seriously unimpressed. Brussel sprouts undercooked and hard. $14 ravioli was 3 undercooked ravioli, literally the edges were hard raw dough. Coconut shrimp was 4, bar quality bland shrimp. Waitstaff was not very present.
My chair felt like it was about to fall apart.
My impression being the owners just take profits and do not put back into this place. Horrible for the price.

Food could be much more

Been meaning to write a review for months..The service was amazing. On the last day of our vacation in feb, my boyfriend (who is dark skinned, covered head to toe in tattoos and bearded) and I walked I here and every customers jaw dropped at the sight of him. We are not the typical people you would see at a high end place like this, but wanted to treat ourselves on our last day in Maui. From the moment our server (Genevieve I believe her name was-the one from Cali) came to our table, she was beyond welcoming. Timely service, very friendly and knowledgeable and was so incredibly kind to us. On my way out of the bathroom, my sandal broke and I was so embarrassed to walk back to the table with one shoe in such a fancy establishment. I stopped at the bar and asked if they had tape, glue, anything to save me. Well the 2 guys on the salad bar and the dishwasher all went on the hunt, took my shoe and actually fixed it for me!! Talk about amazing hospitality. They did not once make me feel like an inconvenience, were more than happy to help. Oh and the important part-the food was TO DIE FOR. So good to the tastebuds and the eye. And the sunset was gorgeous. Most romantic meal of my life, thank you to all of the staff who made our visit so memorable. You guys rock!! I believe it was feb 21st...management, please give your staff on this day a huge pat on the back. I will forever reccommend this restaurant to anyone I know travelling to Maui.

Good service, okay food, but the restaurant was dirty including the table cloth. If you are going to serve dinner with a white table cloth make sure is clean.

Yellowfin entree was fantastic. Melt in your mouth savory deliciousness. DH wished there had been more lobster meat on his plate, but he cleaned it nonetheless. Nice atmosphere, but expensive. Choose your meal wisely and it will be well worth it.

If you aren't a seafood lover you won't like it. View of the beach was absolute fantastic!

Came here for some happy hour drinks and we had a great time

This is a beautiful location, great staff, lovely meal, (we had breakfast). Will be a tradition, for sure, on our yearly visits. Items: banana pancakes and traditional eggs benedict). Reservations would be recommended.

The hostess who never smiles is the only bad thing about this restaurant. She is definitely grumpy. Everyone else is on point! Great customer service and the food is delicious.
