Being a local to the area Fitzpatricks has always been a venue over the years for many different events. To say that I have had it with them is an understatement; the place is falling to pieces, grubby and dusty, the staff (in general) don't care for their customers and hence service is abysmal, 25 mins qait time for a pint to be brought to the table, when it arrived it was a bitter tasting Heineken, and a bad barrel, again this is not the first time. Toilets are filthy, smelly and clearly in need of a complete overhaul, rancid. The saddest part is that this place could be a great jem but has been neglected beyond reprieve and hence the staff are Fawlty Towers-esque, albeit with out the humour element. A place to avoid if you want good service with a smile; you'd be better off going to McDonald's for the latter. Very sad indeed.

We loved our time in Fitzpatricks Castle. The room was lovely and had everything you could need, including a coffee machine! We enjoyed every meal there. ALL the Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Eoin the barman was second to none though!! Will definitely stay again

I went to the killiney castle BBQ today. It was a very good aptmosphere, the weather wasn't the best but what can they do about that ! They were very good providing blankets and warmth for us...... Next is the food, the burger was very good, I wouldn't call it the best burger I've ever had but it was still nice. The sausages were giant and looked hard to eat, but they were amazing and very easy to eat despite the looks, it had a great favour and a hint of spice. Onto the ribs, they were nice baby back ribs although they were very bland. The chicken, the chicken was very good, a classic drumstick. They had fish as well although I didn't try it myself.. they had a wide range in the salad department and the sauce department. At last,, the pavlova was amazing . It was giant and very nice. And I don't even normally like pavlova. We were a rag tag bunch of unlikely friends who were made feel very much at home. It was a light and breezy atmosphere that would suit any personality :) (From Sophie)

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and easy check-in. The room had French doors that opened to a lovely terrace where you could see the bay to the right with the sailboats. Easy walk to Dalkey. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner in the pub. We would book it again!

Lovely old hotel with wonderful charm. Staff was friendly, no air conditioner in the rooms would be the only negative. About a mile walk to Dalkey. I personally think they should have a shuttle that would run back and forth. It was only like a 8 to 10 euro cab ride but like I said it would be nice since that's really the only thing to do is go to the pubs in Dalkey. Food at the hotel was hit or miss. The chicken wings were not good. They should be cooked longer, burger was great, seafood platter was over cooked and had no flavor, And it wasn't cheap!!! The Guinness pie was really good as well. Rooms had comfortable beds. Request an upgraded room so you are not looking at the roof. You want to see the ocean. I'm a travel agent and didn't know and you would be disappointed if you knew you could get views of the sea and you didn't.

Interesting place with a lot of charm, and great location with nearby recreational hiking, sightseeing and dining options. Excellent service staff. Not overly kid-friendly, but enjoyable.

I was excited by the idea of staying in a real castle, but already the outside looks cheesy when you get up close. We got there around 9 or 9:30 and the only room service dinner they provide is pizza. It wasn't great.

We stayed in the Royal Suite at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel and really enjoyed ourselves. The service was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. Location is beautiful, especially if you're on the top floor viewing the city. Bed was very comfy and there's a great tub for having a soak. 10 minute walk to the train to Dublin, so this is an ideal spot to stay if you want to relax and not be in the hustle and bustle of Dublin.

The pool, hot tub and spa are very much a nice feature as well, just be sure to bring a swimming cap (men and women both) if you fancy a swim in the pool, or you can buy one on site.

Our one nights stay (room 327) was a present from our children to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.
The sea view room we had was lovely - just one complaint. We were woken at 2.00 am and again at 6.30 am by a very noisy plumbing problem in a room nearby (think above our room). We did report this on our departure (and also on the hotel review card left at reception). To date - no response from the hotel which we feel is a little poor. The toilet noise is mentioned by another guest further down the reviews so it wasn t just us.
That said the staff were very attentive and pleasant during our stay. The breakfast was good and the sun shone.

Ok: Food, staff (most anyway), location, generally clean. Bad: Basically everything else. Ridiculously expensive, woefully outdated decor, room incredibly small, scary elevators, noisy guests, disorganized serving, no top sheet on bed (eww), very unrestful sleep. NOT recommended.

Had lunch there. Uninspired. Tired old menus, physically and in content, though the food was OK. The hotel has such a good name its such a pity it cannot rise to a higher standard. I think its probably fine to stay on, but not for a casual visit.

Stayed twice in June 2018. Lovely hotel with very gracious and kind staff. Even the housekeepers! Great location for walking and enjoying the village of Dalkey. Filling good quality Irish breakfast too. Only 20 minutes by Dart to Dublin so you could make this your base. Took the Dart to Houwth for an interesting day trip for about 20 Euros for the whole family. Would definitely stay at the Fitzpatrick again.

Nice Hotel and a very comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was great and the bartender are awesome. Only the Carpet wasn t really clean, but that s the issue if you have a carpet in a hotel. Room and bath was clean. Great three nights and I took the bus from the Airport to the Hotel 10 and approx one hour drive.

Interesting experience. Beds are comfortable, good service, expensive tea but it goes with the whole experience. The chlore in the swimmig pool will wash all your sins. Also, I'm not fond of carpets because no matter the quality of the vacuuming, they keep the smells of ancient ghosts... and of course, you can't help it remembering Kubrick's "...redroom, redroom..."

A great place to stay if you're in the south Dublin area. :)

I had the pleasure of staying during a work trip.

Long story short, I couldn't make my work trip and was stuck in the hotel for the day. This doesn't sound great but the lovely staff looked after me very well with coffee and a comfortable place to sit and work on my laptop. They also offered lunch.

The staff were so lovely and welcoming especially the girl on reception called Agta (I think that was her name ) she couldn t do enough for us .. we had food in the restaurant which was amazing and again the staff were so wonderful giving us a complimentary glass of fizz as it was our wedding anniversary .. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return with my children ...

Not quite a castle, more a manor but the staff are courteous, food was very good. I loved their seafood chowder starters. Views were excellent from the top room. Maybe needs a little updating but elegant nonetheless. If you are a tourist, you'd have a long walking distance to the next everything.

Our first night was very less than desirable. Very hard bed, weak water pressure in the shower and flat pillows. However, being our honeymoon and causally mentioning it, we received two glasses of bubblies. The next morning, we shared our concerns with the ft desk attendant. She said she would see what she could do. After a very long day touring in Dublin, we certainly back to an absolutely amazing room! I have never spent a night in a hotel room that was as spacious, classy, and full of amenities. Well done!!!

I've stayed here before and didn't have an issue but this time was a bit disappointing. Ordered steak in Dungeon bar. Asked for medium to well. It came out extremely tough and it tasted like it was reheated in the oven. Some of the chunky chips were raw. In the room the water took a while to flow down the sink and no air con. Room very stuffy. For 200 euro you do expect more.

A beautiful hotel in a quiet area but close enough to Dublin city center to see all the sites! The staff were all friendly and responsive to any request! They had any information we needed readily available and always offered money saving suggestions.
Our first night in we arrived late. Francesco and Mark greeted us. They made check in easy and effortless as we were exhausted.
The rooms are spacious and the beds extremely comfortable! Although we did not request it I would suggest getting the sea view rooms.
Carmen was the manager in the restaraunt that served breakfast and kind and charming lady who ensured our satisfaction with everything!
Check again was made effortless and simple!
Would stay here again without a doubt

The structure is beautiful, it is a real castle and inside it is very similar to the furnishings of the Titanic, fabulous. The only flaw is the small room, the very small bathroom and the credit card requirement.

Myself and my wife had our wedding after party here; from start to finish the staff went above and beyond. We felt at home the second we arrived and our every need was catered for. A big thank you to all the staff, especially Sebastian and Patricia, both went the extra mile!

Thanks again

Stayed here one night with my husband and baby. We opted for the seaview room. The view was ok and I actually wish we had booked the family room instead so we had more space. The bed was cozy, awesome shower and we had a nice light supper at the Dungeon Bar. Friendly staff and we even got to enjoy the pool for a bit. I'd stay here again but in a different room.

Megadire hotel but it was all worth the money. I return with pictures at some point but at the moment nobody is on my so-called smartphone. However, I have taken some pieces with my Nikon so they just need to be put on my laptop. So worth a little patient then they are there soon.

Location is excellent for exploring area, amenities are great for Ireland. The maintenance could be improved (shower leaked all over floor, light bulbs out in room, etc.). The majority of the service was outstanding with one exception - receptionist was terrible! It was the male working Tues night. He was rude, did not provide any useful info upon check-in, acted like we were bothering him, and we tried calling for room service over 10 times and he never answered the phone. I do not judge the hotel by this one employee as my overall experience was good and I would recommend the place. The morning receptionist (two women) were great and seemed well trained.
