Good hotel about 20 minutes from the city center on foot, in front of a river, but quiet, the spacious rooms the sink a bit small, to use the bathroom we had to close the door since it was right in the bathroom, breakfast very good.

The overall experience was satisfactory. Great location, the hotel was generally clean, and the staff was polite and helpful. Where I think they could improve are the bathrooms - they're little better than Travelodge. I'd expect much better at that price range. Also, we had a guest randomly come into our room in the morning (she got confused, thinking it was hers, tried her key unsuccessfully, and then got a passing cleaner to open the door..... It's a good thing we were dressed at the time!). Overall, it's ok if you just need a nice bed, a hot shower, and proximity to the city centre. The bathrooms really do need work though!

Great hotel in Dublin! Room was well appointed, and the staff was super nice and helpful. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to Stephens Green which has a ton of pubs, shops, and restaurants around it... Walk another 10 minutes to Temple Bar where there are more pubs and restaurants.

If your don't mind the walk you can get to most major spots in Downtown Dublin from the hotel. We walked to Jameson and Guinness with no issues. Cab ride cost from Temple Bar to the Hotel is about 10 Euro too so not to bad.

Having parking at the hotel was super nice... But their parking lot is small and first come first serve so just be aware of that.

Really enjoyed our two nights here. The rooms have plenty of space and as well appointed. The bathroom was nice, including the tub and shower. The breakfast in the morning was also good. Last, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location, service etc. Corridor quite noisy early in morning. Bed very close to corridor wall so it was noisy in the room, could literally hear conversations through wall. But otherwise all good.

Not bad. Great location. Rooms and interior are a bit dingy. The TV is tiny (Guessing 20-24" tv) Also, the rooms have no air conditioning, which probably doesn't matter usually, but I happened to visit on the warmest day of the year. But I didn't come to Dublin to stay in my room.

Lovely rooms and decor

Lovely rooms and decor
Staff are very friendly and professional
Security and close proximity to the city centre is an amazing plus to the hotel
Close by any shops and food places and pubs should they be needed

I liked the public areas of this hotel (reception, breakfast room), but the room, although well furnished as shown in the pictures, was dusty and mostly airless. Unbearable when it's hot, the sun goes all day through the big windows and only a small window can only partially open! And especially not normal when the site indicates that the room is equipped with air co! The breakfast was good and the neighborhood nice.

I was going to rate this hotel with four stars, but after reading the unfounded, anonymous whine about the lack of parking, I decided to give it five...

This hotel has a justifiably high rating. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and nicely furnished. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent. Bar prices are reasonable for a hotel of this type, and the restaurant serves high quality food.

I'm in Dublin on business from time to time and I've made some bad experiences with hotels here in the past, but in future I'll be staying here.

Extremely, helpful friendly staff! Recognized us after meeting one time. The manager went out of his way to look for a place that rented motorcycles. The rooms are immaculate, and very comfortable. We enjoyed 2 evenings in the bar, which was very nice; the bartenders were attentive, extremely kind, and fun. We stayed here the first two nights of our visit on here in Ireland, then returned for the last night. We we're happy to be spending the last night here!

Nice. Upscale reputation. Modern setting (not 'traditional' Irish pub style bar). Limited car parking spaces available, but access to and from it is 'around the block' from the hotel entrance. 15-20 minute walk to St. Stephens Green centre (city centre) so located away from city centre noise. Moderate to expensively priced.

Great hotel, clean modern central and has everything you need. Off street parking is a total bonus. Hate the frosted glass in the bathroom but that is a tiny personal issue but not a reason not to stay here

Staff was very friendly, amenities were as advertised. Bed was comfortable and room as spacious for European standards. The restaurant was nice as was the bar. The hotel location was outside the city center and appeared to be hosting professionals rather than tourists, I prefer the location to the rowdy temple bar area but is only a 10-15 min walk to the city center. It took me about 40 minutes to walk to the guinness storehouse. I chose to have dinner near the hotel most nights because I wanted to have a few drinks with dinner and since I was traveling alone I didn't want to venture too far. The restaurants didn't disappoint, Specifically the Farm, and Sussex were exceptional. I also had drinks/dinner at Searsons and the waterloo. The only negative that I experienced was the variability of the shower temperature. The first day I arrived very early so my room was not ready, I used the shower that afternoon after checkin and dinner at about 5-6pm without issues. All other days I used it in the am around 7-9am. The shower would be lukewarm to extremely hot to cold so I had to constantly adjust, but I wasn't terribly bothered. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in dublin, especially outside the city center.

Lovely, well appointed rooms, very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but the nice cold flavoured water in the lobby was a nice surprise. It's a healthy walk downtown, and the buses are a block or two away.

Again, nice place, but not very convenient.

Nice quiet hotel for dublin. Not to far way from busses or the Luas green line stop if you know how the Luas works it's great. Staff were all very nice and welcoming. My room was very cold as the window in it was letting a draft in. Dont know how good the other windows are in the rest of the rooms. Would recommend this hotel.

The Mespil Hotel in Dublin D4, Ireland is a nice hotel that is only a short bus or taxi ride from the city center, or a 25 minute walk if you have the time. The area is both business and residential. There are many good places to dine within a few blocks and at least 4 coffee shops if you like coffee. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with a friendly and accommodating staff. Our stay was for 6 nights. Our room did not have air conditioning and the heat is not controllable from the room in which we stayed. However, in October and with a window that partially opens we were comfortable. The bathroom had a very nice shower and plenty of hot water. The room also had a electric hair dryer in the desk drawer which was nice since we didn't have a voltage inverter for ours. There was a small refrigerator and a safe located in the room as well as an iron and ironing board. Our King size bed was very comfortable. The room had a business type desk and chair and a small round table and comfortable chair. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay at the Mespil Hotel and would stay there again.

Nice hotel. The people are friendly, rooms clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms are nice. There is free parking, although it is limited & free wifi. Cost of breakfast is a little steep.

Modern business hotel in a convenient location. They also have a fitness center with a few cardio machines and a couple of machines. It's not fancy and their selection of weights is minimal but it gets the job done for the average weekend warrior. I did have an issue with my room and not being able to adjust the AC, after trying a few fixes I was given a different room. Breakfast is excellent with all the classic English and Irish breakfast options and fruit, yoghurt, and juices. I would definitely stay again.

My stay at mespil hotel was really good, big beds, great food and good rooms.
It is a little expensive to be paid for non business travelling, but this doesn't make it bad.
The stuff is really kind.
