Nice hotel older clientele needs a refurb in the reception bar area good food in restaurant
Service wasn't great, food was ok but nothing special. Wouldn't be in a rush back.
Had an afternoon tea there and it was really nice! The place was cosy and the mini pastries were devine.
Stayed here for one night on the 10th December 2020. They had a special offer which was a 3 Course Meal and breakfast, 189 for 2 people. It was birthday treat from my wife and we were given a free upgrade to a sea view room with balcony.
Staff and food was amazing. We had a cocktail in "The Library" before having our meal in Mapas Restaurant. Really enjoyed everything and would recommend. We will be back.
Rooms were lovely. Having stayed here before I found the pool area a bit neglected, the food in restaurant was ok and not a huge selection a manager giving out to a young trainee who was doing her best wasn t very nice (gave her a nice tip) very disappointed with checkout keys were taken off me and not even asked did I have a nice stay, don t think I ll be back
Stayed in a beautiful suite. Excellent food. Comfortable bed. Luxurious toiletries.
The girls are great, they even know how much sugar I take in my tea
Was at a comedy gig very badly layed out if u wanted a drink u had to leave room disturbing everyone behind u and bar was only open down stairs
ABSOLUTELY CANNOT FATHOM OTHER POSITIVE REVIEWS OF THIS DELAPIDATED PROPERTY!? I checked out within an hour of check-in, losing one night's room rate because the hotel was just SO awful! Room hallways in disrepair, room door falling apart, security lock missing (unsafe), neighboring rooms slamming doors (could hear through walls), creepy artwork in room, room outlets falling out of wall (electrical hazard), outdated and semi-clean bathroom, something LIVING in the room drapes, etc... I could go on! Barely a ONE star property! Not the "castle" 4 star as advertised! ***I have pictures as proof of everything I stated here.
I had a few issue upon arrival. It seemed that only the minimum was being done. So much so, that the previous guests hair was clogging my bathroom sink. I had maintinence come and they unclogged it, but left the wod of hair in the sink. Classy, right? The coffee maker was broken and little things were missing. Like the hair dryer for my wife. Also, they refill the bottles of sparkling water with tap water. Cheap. We told staff before our arrival and when we checked in that this was the first part of our honeymoon. We were told after we complained about the sink that if we had mentioned that, normally they would upgrade our room. They did not.
On the positive side, when i told management about these issues, they were prompt to fix things. The manager sandra was very nice and helpful. On the second day of our stay, we came back to swan towels, fake rose petals on the bed, and actual sparkling water. They even put a bottle of champagne on ice for us. This was nice, but it would have been nicer upon check-in. It also kinda felt like they were sucking up because the first day was not good.
So my first day there was 2 stars at best and after a few emails with management, i had a 3 star experience my second day.
From first to last it was a wonderful experience I hope to do again soon!
Ah have not enough words for this fantastic hotel . Just didn't get to stay long enough . It was beautiful. Family room was big enough for 5 . You got 1 Hour in pool which was long enough for everyone to get a chance . You where given slippers and dressing gown to wear to pool so not much people changing in dressing area . Just one fault it was very slippy in pool area . Food was beautiful and loved the dungeon. Staff was so friendly. Loved dalkey area .Definitely be back again
Pleasant atmosphere. Great parking. Friendly staff.
Accomadation good and food good. Leisure facilities are good but changing rooms are in poor condition
We had booked the overnight stay through the Agency, it had to be the icing on the cake of the honeymoon, one night at the castle seemed a magical thing in itself.
The park around was beautiful, the castle a little less, renovated on the outside like inside with motifs and purple and gray tones, a small room with dust that hung from the ceilings ... not the best, we thought clearly better from the photos. ..disappointment.
This hotel has great facilities and while it looks a bit faded in parts it is a pleasant place to stay. It has decent food and is well located for getting into Dublin, or even to the airport as the bus terminal is in the hotel car park.
Attended a funeral there. The hotel is beautiful, staff efficient and friendly and the food excellent.
Very nice hotel. Excellent food and friendly staff. Rooms are nice and comfortable!
Amazing and beautiful place for a romantic getaway with your boyfriend
We loved staying here: the staff were polite and helpful, the room and bed comfortable, the shower fabulous and the food delicious.
Customer service via email is very poor. Representative was very unhelpful and a quite rude.
Friendly warm atmosphere. Very comfortable bed and excellent food.
Lovely breakfast, amazing afternoon tea. The atmosphere feels great too, but the rooms are however overpriced as they're outdated and need a refresh
Located close enough to Dublin for airport transfer, but far enough away so it's not exceptionally crowded. Awesome view from the room as its located on a large hill. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice. Hotel is literally a converted castle so it makes for quite the unique experience.
Iam very upset with my experience in this hotel because i paid alot of money for no swimming pool or spa and the Xmas dinner was very expensive so i struggling find a restaurant outside to eat the staff was nice but still I am sad and my kids very disappointed
A little tired looking in places but understand it is for a different generation. Will need a facelift soon.
Great. Staff were mostly fab. Breakfast very good though the continental could do with a few more choices.
Enjoyed our nights stay, staff were helpful when we had questions. Shower pressure will blow ya away
Nice hotel with Dalkey only a ten minute walk down the hill and Killiney hill right beside it
Nice setting to catch up with friends. Perhaps a little pricey for the quality of food served.
They do a very good afternoon tea or you can have a very pleasant coffee and light snack In the impressive foyer.
Great hotel!!! We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, along with the old world charm. Everything was top notch and was up to our expectations, we typically stay in 5 star hotels, and this was a very good hotel.
Thrilled with our stay. Such a beautiful hotel and lovely genuine people who couldn t do enough for us. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Lovely hotel great location great food and service rooms are really nice
Absolutely wonderful rooms and experience. The wonderful person who checked us in went way out of her way to ensure we were able to still get dinner (even though we were really too late for dinner) and to make sure our stay was enjoyable. I would definitely stay again!
Fantastic experiance in this wonderful hotel staff were friendly helpful and happy looked after us and a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful hotel will definitely return
Lovely grounds with squirrels, thrushes blackbirds and crows.
Excellent staff. Bedroom spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The location was perfect for visiting Dublin city and touring around Wicklow. Overall our experience was faultless. Looking forward to staying again.
Nice hotel with Dalkey only a ten minute walk down the hill and Killiney hill right beside it
Had lunch here after walking killiney and Dalkey hill, it was very good value and nice surroundings
Usually good and today no exception tolerant of smallies who h must be hard at times
Really enjoyed this place. Would love to bring my grand children back some day
A lovely stay as always, with the friendly and hardworking staff providing great service, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Great food too.
The hotel is lovely. The service was great and they did a gluten free afternoon tea. The bread on the sandwiches was really bad. You can get some lovely gluten free breads now so this was a shame. The rest was amazing.
Was here for a wedding. The food was sublime & the service excellent.
The service makes it feel like a home away home- friendly, homey and on point. Best not to expect anything modern.
Definitely an impact hotel, good location. Courteous staff but their maximum they give in the mapas internal restaurant, large parking lot at the entrance and excellent connection with Dublin airport, in fact it is enough to take the 703 that is terminus inside the castle.
no help with luggage
breakfast only up from 7.30 h on weekends
no socket-outlets next to bed for medical devices
Had a brief visit for a private function. But my trips through the castle were amazing and I would highly recommend a visit.
Rooms are clean, dated, small with few outlets, and no A/C, but I loved the shortbread cookies, tea, and the excellent and friendly service at the desk, bar, breakfast. I would stay here again unless it was the peak of summer.
Won't service a Bloodily Mary at Breakfast, not good!
Quiet, serene lobby & aft.noon tea area. As a lng term jazz enthuasiast (Sun), i believe u need sme rfurbishmnt, specially carpets wth varnishd tables, othrwise, v pleasant.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, good food in their restaurant.
Nice place i frequent greeted yesterday by 2 beautiful fires so welcoming on a cold wet morning gorgeous !!
Make sure to tell the janitor that he ruined 6th class Harold boys confirmation
I love the quirky Old vibe to this place. Saying that, there is an excellent restaurant and the beds are amazing.
