We very quickly found the tutor we hoped would work well for us. The only thing I didn't like was the pressure to have to try and message the tutor through the system and worry I was going to run out of the time given to commit to the tutor before I had worked out whether she was right for our purposes. I would have preferred access to the tutors email, but appreciate that may be impossible before committing.

I teach Bulgarian to English speakers thanks to this website. It's very intuitive, with a sound level of security for both sides. It offers a chance for learners and teachers to meet in a safe environment. I managed to find 7 extremely motivated students within 1 year. Once students pay to revelae tutor's contact details, the interaction with the website is over and no transactions are carried out there. This makes the whole process very smooth. Highly recommended.

I "signed up" as I needed help to find a piano tutor.
Within minutes I was shown a choice of potential tutors within close travel distance to my home.
When I made my choice, within minutes again, the chosen tutor responded, and we agreed a date and time for my first lesson.

I have been registered with First Tutors for over a year and I m very impressed with how this website works.

Pupils are able to view their potential tutors profiles and decide if what they are being offered meets their needs. The communication process between a pupil and their potential tutor is excellent - and only when both are happy with the arrangements are contact details made available to each party.

I can t recommend this website enough for pupils searching for tutors in whatever subject they want to learn - the list of subjects is extensive.

First Tutors is a well populated website, so when I was looking to resume piano lessons again as an adult beginner I had plenty of tutors to choose from. The tutor I contacted got back to me straightaway, which I presume is because First Tutors has some mechanism for alerting their tutors that someone has made an enquiry. Also, I've only been contacted by First Tutors when necessary. The only thing I would say is that it would have been useful to know how much the fee was 'upfront' as I felt a little nervous not knowing how much the fee was going to be prior to setting up the lessons with the tutor. The fee was fair but like I say it would have been nice to know beforehand.

I've been with Firsttutors for nearly a decade; one of the tutor platforms I advertised on when in the UK. Having enjoyed such great service with the UK site, it was an obvious choice to continue with the Irish site.

I would highlight two things:

Firstly the thoroughness of vetting the tutor's competency and character.

Secondly the reasonableness of the fees that First Tutors operate.
It's all on a one off basis and neither the student nor the tutor end up funding a middle man for years on end.
