First Oakville Toastmasters is not just a public speaking club, it's an institution where you learn life and leadership skills. People are amazing with vast range of experience. Professionals to new comers to Canada, all have something to learn, something teach, something to contribute. Thanks FOTM for helping me in becoming better version of myself.
First Oakville Toastmasters is a friendly and supportive club that gives people a lot of opportunities to build leadership and public speaking skills. I first visited the club in 2017. I was nervous at first, but I found that it was full of diverse, supportive people from different ages, backgrounds and walks of life, all of whom were helping each other learn to speak and practice leadership skills. Since then, I have been encouraged to try new leadership roles I would not have considered otherwise, including serving on the club executive two years in a row. This club has helped me make new friends and learn new skills and I am thankful to all the people who are a part of it. I would recommend FOTM to anyone looking to improve their leadership and communication skills.
Amazing club with very supportive members to help you grow. Meetings are well planned and organized, there is a chance for everyone to practice public speaking at every session.
First Oakville Toastmasters 2245 is a very warm, supportive club that encourages everyone to participate and grow in their communication skills. Tonight was no exception. Everyone was prepared, we had a super impromptu speaking portion, we had an informative business session and we had a fantastic speaker and evaluator present. We learn from observing and trying different roles. One member did his first mini-speech and he was so informative about an issue that was important to him - mental wellness during Covid-19. There was laughter, seriousness, information shared and those who wanted to talk a little more stayed on after the official meeting was concluded. So glad I'm a member of this group!
Great club with great people. They have a great process for the meetings that covers a wide variety of skills. The members are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming and the atmosphere is light and perfect for learning.
First Oakville Toastmasters Club is the best place to learn public speaking, leadership and communication skills. All members of this club are very friendly, supportive, and encouraging. The feedback I have received has helped me gain confidence and refined my public speaking skills in a short period of time.

First Oakville Toastmasters is a very welcoming and professional club. That was my first impression from 5 years ago. Over the years, First Oakville has not only made me a better speaker, built my confidence but most importantly, it has become my community. It is amazing to see how the club has translated this quality into the weekly Zoom meetings and continue to help everyone to develop the skills that s most needed in this new reality: public speaking, leading and building connections all virtually.
