Firewater Grille Review

Excellent restaurant - food fabulous - great wine - good service - had Barramundi one night and fillet steak the next - there's nothing they could have done to make is taste any better - yum, yum and yum - pricey, but well worth it. I highly recommended this place.

Good service but attentiveness seems to be lacking considering the calibre of restaurant the owners are selling this as. Sides and entrees are mediocre but mains are very tasty. Ambience is excellent and the main seller.

Love going to the restaurant.

Although the light fittings are layered in dust and the cobwebs on the room are huge and have not been cleaned for years.

Curtains around booths need a good wash or replacement.

Really great food! Service was a bit slow on a Wednesday night. They took our drink orders after arriving.. Took quite awhile before the actually took our meal order though. Very enjoyable steak.

The customer service was amazing, super friendly. The food was excellent, wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely be eating there again 10/10

The Firewater Grill boasts a peaceful atmosphere with a private dining feeling due to its spacious and well laid out arrangement. The staff are professional and attentive. The menu selections are varied and the quality of the food and its presentation is excellent.

Lovely meals, great service and comfortable seating.

Temperature was cosy and the fire/water centrepiece adds some nice ambiance.

Look up, the ceiling lighting looks like the tail end of a Saturn V rocket

Magnificent quality food and service. We had the fillet and sirloin steak with the garlic sauce with king prawns... absolutely scrumptious!! I had the orange almond dessert. Could not fault and I am extremely fussy at fine restaurants and this passes with flying colours. Gold star service. Will always come back. Highly recommend!

Food was excellent however the menu is quite limited. Staff are professional yet friendly. The atmosphere is quite pleasant and prices reasonable for quality of food. I had rack of lamb and my wife the salmon and both were delicious and perfectly cooked. Desert was a little underwhelming as the apple pie was full of flavour but quite cool at the centre. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will go again.

We love going to the Duxton Hotel Restaurant for dinner and especially on our Wedding Anniversary and have done so the last few years. Once again we were not disappointed. We chose the salmon and the pork cutlet and a side of buttered vegetables and all were perfectly cooked and extremely delicious. The dessert plate was lovely. The service is extremely friendly by the staff and Maitre D and the surroundings are lovely. Being right next door to the Perth Concert Hall the restaurant at the Duxton is an ideal location for a lovely meal before attending a concert, but would suggest allowing plenty of time on a busy night.

Very professional and attentive staff, fancy setup inside and more importantly the food was exceptional.

The service was wonderful, staff dressed impeccable and nothing was too much for them to manage. There were a lot of people in the restaurant celebrating birthdays and were offered a slice of cake, which was a beautiful gesture. Loved being able to see the Chefs cooking our meals. Would definitely recommend.

Went for anniversary dinner with wife have to say as a chef. I was very impressed with the food quality and the chefs skill in preparing his dishes. The attention to detail resulted in amazingly flavorful meals. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. A special mention to our waitress for her wine knowledge and recommendation she was absolutely spot on.

A great place for a great meal. Excellent views of the swan river. Good selection of wines. Extensive range of food to suit all palettes.

53 members of SCOAWA held a luncheon on 26 November 2020. Staff were terrific, venue was great and buffet food excellent. We will be back again and again. I cannot recommend this place more highly . Shruti the Restaurant manager is a terrific asset for this establishment . Don't go past this place, you will regret it !!

We had to wait to be seated, staff were a bit flustered as they said they were busy however restaurant not full, there were spare tables. Two items not available from menu, ran out! We waited an hour before we asked when our main meal would be served, they were aware that we were going to concert. We only had time for main course, and because of delay was rushed for time to eat. However we did enjoy the meal

Dined there before a show at the Perth Theater. Restaurant was full. All staff very friendly but clearly not able to cope with the volume. Mains delivered before entree finished. Desert not delivered at all following a 25 minute wait. However food was well prepared and tasty. Basic pub fare.

We celebrated two birthdays here and had a fantastic meal with very attentive service throughout and a surprise happy birthday desert for both. Ambiance was great with fire and water and very roomy seating.

My husband and I had our 10 year anniversary dinner here on the weekend. The restaurant is lovely and you can clearly see by the menu that you should either have the Lamb or the Steak. Both our mains were beautiful. I had lamb and hubby had wagyu but entree of 2 overcooked scallops for $22 left a bad taste in my mouth! The desert was very bland I had the Japanese cake and hubby had the Bailey's cheesecake, definately note a wow moment. The mains however stole the show and we were happy. We used the entertainment card and got a bit of a discount which paid for our bottle of wine ;) service was good and would give it another try.

Had a lovely (express business) lunch at the Duxton on Monday. Really enjoyed the food (more than when it was a buffet) and the staff were delightful. It was my 85 year old Mother's birthday and they made her feel very special and she thoroughly enjoyed her day! (Thank you Johanna & Yuki)

Loved the fresh food, not a very big buffet compared to other buffets but the quality of the food was very good , staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs especially Johanna , Suki, and i am not sure the managers name who was also great. Used a coupon for 3 course meal + bottle of wine. Sceptical prior but absolutely impressed by quality and quantity of food, wine selection (Houghtons Quills) and service. Maitre D and staff exceptional.

It was decent, as far as buffets in Perth go - which isnt many. It was neat with enough of a selection to enjoy a nice big breakfast. The omelette station and pancake machine provided a little wow factor thats expected for a buffet. I think some cloths around the handles would be a good idea to prevent germs where possible, or someone dishing up the food instead of everyone handling the lids.

A great dining experience with awesome mouthwatering food.

Ordered the 600gram Tomahawk steak, asked for it rare. It arrived and was done medium, it was also dry, tough and bland. All in all it was one of the worst steaks I have had in a long time. My wife had the Macadamia encrusted lamb which she said was excellent.

Very Disappointed. I went for the Traditional Xmas Buffet long lunch $55. Drinks not cheap on top. Lovely venue good staff but food very ordinary. No roast potatoes, roast veg or sprouts, pigs in blankets etc. Stuffing was hard dry balls. Tiny jug of brandy custard so had to ask for it. Before i knew it was told last chance at buffet as closing up so was a short lunch really. I think when you pay that much money lunch should stay open longer its Xmas lunch after all.

The first time I went to this upper-class restaurant I was very impressed. The management and staff were impeccable, when you go to a nice restaurant you want to be waited on without having to have to chase them for food and drinks and as soon as we walked in we were welcomed with a table, bread and drinks promptly. I had a lovely reef and beef steak with veg and it was great. Everytime anyone was even getting close to finishing a drink someone was there to get another imediatly. Kids were also well catered for. It was so good I went the very next night, however a few months later I went back and management of the floor staff had changed and of course by then the menu had also. The waiters and waitresses were a lot less organised and I had to chase drinks and even the bread after I first sat down. The food was still really good but I had my heart set on that lovely reef and beef and being a change of menu was disappointing but in the end was still lovely. I will still go back another time.

Excellent food and even better service. A bit pricey but you don t go here for a budget meal. Ambience is good but the deer heads on the walls are no longer appropriate in this day and age.
