This shelter for men is known, but only to those who have been there and also to others who were told of one's experience there. From my point it's a great place for men. They do a great job keeping people fed during the two meals in the day. The Ministry also has other services that they do and it's always for a reason. If your unfamiliar, you should check it out yourself.

Ranking only the food+washrooms here, 5 stars for huge quantities of delicious food -- plenty of meat on some of the dishes, fresh coffee, they had cookies, they even have packaged sandwiches you can keep in your pack for later. Washrooms for men are large and clean

Staff is super cool. They will help you if you are for real. If you don't want to help yourself they will brush you off to make room for real people. I'm a bike messenger and I stayed here when I needed shelter while saving up for first and last month's rent for my own place and as long as you prove to the workers that you're legit, you are in welcoming hands. This is not a place for addicts who do not want to work or make their lives better.

FATHER ED IS THE MOST CARING PERSON I'VE EVER MET IN THE RED ZONE, WORKS FRONT LINE WITH VARIOUS SORTS OF MEN FROM EVERY WALK OF LIFE AND GREETS ALL WITH RESPECT. HIS AURA IS OF PURE DIVINE LIGHT, WORKING MIRACLES NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT, WITH SOULS NOBODY CARES ABOUT. I HAVE A DEEP RESPECT FOR THE MAN. A TRUE SAINT AMONG US.

I have occasion to attend mindful meditation at 10 Tracy Street which is attached to the Good Shepherd. I have dined there once and gone for tea on a cold day. They offer good healthy food two people without asking any questions everyone behaves in a civilized fashion there are nuns and volunteers working there and the food is I must say quite good the attendees are people with him uncomfortable because they remind me of my children there are a lot of homeless people who are decent honest and just don't have enough

An awesome ministry for providing shelter, meals, medical attention, after care outreach, Inhouse church, clinic, clothing bank, and food bank. Well cultured social workers attending every permitted requirement. Great rooms and beds. So many bed slots and good security. Houses homeless citizens, immigrants with refugee status, drug abuse individuals, boasts of a rehabilitation centre for drug abuse users and addictive gambling abusers. It's a very good place and all works according to the system requirements.

They do a great job at helping out the homeless, and the poor. You can drop in to get socks or tooth paste. Doing a great job for the community! On queen street east guessing to get off at parliament on the north side of the street. There are many people coming and going so please be patient. Recommended for support and place to find different options.

The staff here are extremely helpful, friendly, compassionate, and understanding. I am extremely grateful to of found this place, as it is saving my life. I started off in the homelessness program they have here, and quickly realised the true problem that I am here is because of my addiction, so I entered into their dare program. 5 out of 5 stars for sure. This review is not yet finished.

Shelter facility in Downtown Toronto with 25 beds for DARE (Drug & Alcohol Recovery Enrichment), recently that they work with people having Gambling Addiction. The facility serves 400 people (average) Morning breakfast between 9 to 11 am & Meals between 2 to 4 pm. Very well trained staff, who cares. Also, provides clothing to needy people. As per my experience, THIS is the organization... If I am to donate for the sake of Humanity this is my choice. I wish them ever lasting SUCCESS in all their endeavor our

Good shepherd Ministries saved me during a time of extreme struggles. Some people tend to not see the obstacles in life once things are settled in and well but i have gone from employed to back on the street and homeless a few times in my childhood up until recently in my young adulthood. I could never get on my feet because i was never aware places like this exist and i can not stress the importance of them enough. It takes time for people to make improvements in their life and having food to eat is what makes it possible to eventually land a job and successfully make it through the 3 weeks of training before getting a paid. But more importantly some people are never as lucky, with opinions aside not everyone gets the job and some struggle with bad luck interview after interview and do not have families to help support them or even friends to help them stay a while.. My thanks goes out to everyone involved. You really do save lives.. Thank you.

Toronto is fortunate to have shelters for men such like this one. It definitely services the needs of many, giving out toiletries and hygienic items (when available) as well as clothing for both men and women. They also provide hundreds of meals a day to disenfranchised men and women that can make it here. I would give them 5 stars, except for the following reasons: 1) The beds provided are adequate, however the system for keeping a bed once acquired seems unjust. One has to make it here for a 5:30 pm registration lineup every evening. If you can't make it there in time for some unforeseen reason, your bed is given away to someone else. 2) A few of the longtime staff are uncompassionate and unwilling to address conflicts at all or equitably. 3) The D.A.R.E. (Drug and Alcohol Recovery Enrichment) program is poorly administered and mostly ineffective...

My experience at the good Sheppard. As a recovering addict. The first three months I was there on methadone in the Dare program. I was coming down off of a large dose of oxycontin about 6 80's a day as well as other drugs and alchohol. I started to retreat off the methadone and ended up going to st mikes rehab for three months and graduating. I am also a member of the ca fellowship and have done stepwork. I came back to the dare program for there so called "aftercare" in waiting for st mikes transitional housing. I continued to reduce methadone until i cut it at ten ml. I was in so much pain in my knees and back my right leg especially. I spent almost two weeks in bed, noone even asked me if I was ok they just complained that i wasnt working in there dish pit for free. I went to my Dr and he sent me for x rays on my back and knees. My right knee needs to be replaced and my left knee needs to be drained. My arthritis is so bad that it's affecting my tendons. I've been doing renovations and service since I was 10 years old. My Dr prescribed me perks for the pain so that I could stand the pain and get out of bed to keep up with my life. Keep in mind my dr knows about my addictions and the fact j was on methadone and completes treatment. That was enough for them to kick me out saying i relapsed. This organization is not educated enough to make that decision. Its pretty bad that when i called the news to report it they already knew what i was talking about. They phoned them as soon as I left I'm sure to cover there tracks. Its all about the money with these guys. St mikes transition has no problem with me taking what my Dr has prescribed to me for good reason, but this organization classes it a relapse. A relapse to me is calling a dealer and picking up drugs, not being honest with your dr about your past, and trying to work with him for your future. I worked three months at this place every other day on bad knees to be able to stay here as they charged my health card and now that I am doing what my Dr is telling me to do instead of self medicating, I'm a relapser? Really guys. You should have called my Dr and at least given him the chance to defend me, you are not drs. Your solution was go back on methadone. Really. What a dumb thing to suggest. I will remain on my course of sobriety, with no help from you. Thanks for everything. Good people, great place, they started my journey of following rules and drs orders. Pernalized me for doing it. Just a real lack of medical knowledge and openmindedness. Ill continue to do what my Dr says. Thanks
