I set up an appointment for today with Jeff. I found Jeff to be awesome. Then they sent a sales person out named David. Had no samples of the epoxy floor. Found one web picture of it. Then continues to try and sell me the flooring I wasn't interested in. Got upset over already seeing all their website pictures. But the topper, he told me I couldn't afford him. Jokes on him, because I could have paid cash for everything they were going to do. But my husband wanted to stay around $10,000, after a general idea of what we wanted.The fact it would be about 2 1/2 times that. Was okay with us. We would have given him a deposit to get things started. But according to him we can't afford. So him and his company loss a sale. I have never had someone try to insult me in my own home.
Very happy with end result from Finished Basements Plus. Staff were very pleasant to deal (including sub-contractors like drywall, painters, etc) with and were very accommodating with our requests.

Had a large unfinished basement project in Birmingham, where we were looking to brighten up and define the space with a main area, a gym and a bathroom/spa. From the moment FBP came to into our home we felt great about them. Every employee was enthusiastic and knowledgable. Their process was straightforward and smooth, they laid out steps along the way, stuck to their timelines throughout the project, kept our place clean and left us with an incredible space. We wanted it to look simple and elegant but also wanted to pack in features like a large glass wall into the gym, mirrored gym walls, rubber floors that transitioned into hardwood, lots of tile work in the bathroom, steam shower, sauna, etc. Finished Basements delivered on every aspect and we can't state how thrilled we were with the company, process, and end-result. Craig was the only contractor who responded to my Angie's list inquiry for estimates on a basement wall leak. He agreed to not only fix the leak permanently, but also recommended I replace my 35 year old sump pump and add a battery backup to the pump in case of a power outage. All the work was done as described and done so according to Craig's estimated schedule. There were no extra or unanticipated charges and I am very satisfied with the completed project. I will definitely contact Finished Basements in the future should any additional leaks appear.

We selected Joe's proposal from among three other quotes we received to finish our basement. His proposal was the most detailed and best value. We also chose Finished Basements Plus because they remodel basements full time and thus have a full team of the trades that allow them to rapidly ameliorate any shortcomings and maintain a schedule.
Unfortunately, the City of Ann Arbor imposed some requirements just before final inspection. This stretched our timeline by months as Steve and Katie took our case up with the City. With their assistance, we managed to finally satiate the inspectors. Finished Basements truly went above and beyond what they needed to do to ensure we were satisfied with the final product, finally!
Everyone on their team was great to work with, but Ed (our project manager) and Mike (the jack of all trades who completed our final punch list) were especially awesome to work with.
I met with my salesperson Pam three times. Each time she gave me a different story. The price increased. The area of basement increased. She had proposed to build an office instead of bedroom to save the cost. But when she came second time she said it s better to be a bedroom. It s OK for me. When I came to her office in a heavy snow to get the final quote, it increased from the estimated $55,000 to $80,000 after the discount. The explanation why the area increased by 100 sf and price changed was that is. Like a scam.

If I could give this company a zero I would. We have new build house with a partial finished basement. Waited almost two weeks for someone to stop in to quote my project. The first phone call to the front office they seemed hesitant to quote my project because of the partial finish. Immediately when there sales person Michele walks into my basement starts ridiculing everything that has already been done. After she is done jumping down my throat she immediately states we are possible not the company for you. Try not insulting customers when quoting a job. I never once implied once that we would not be open to properly doing my basement and bringing up to code.

When we built we of course wanted to finish our basement, but held off in order to keep initial costs down and have it done the way we wanted. After saving for nearly 9 years we decided it was time to finish our basement. We contacted a number of companies to bid the project and give us their design ideas. It didn't take long to conclude that Finished Basements Plus was the builder of choice. Aside from their superior products, nearly all-employee workers, and an online day-to-day schedule of what was to be done, we simply felt extremely comfortable working with the designers and were very happy with what they came up with. Despite the horrible experiences other people have had when finishing their basements, we had just the opposite. FBP not only kept to the published schedule, they completed the project nearly two weeks in advance. The workers who came to our home were extremely friendly, professional, and in a few instances, had change suggestions regarding the plans which proved to be great.

6 months ago- (march or April 2018)Joseph came out and gave me some good advice on my basement. Even though we won t use them for our finished basements because we don t have the budget to replace our studs and insulation, he was still pretty awesome. I learned something new about bond insulation and how the basement works.

My biggest objections as a consumer / home owner with having my basement finished were 2 things.
1. Having Random contractors in my house, As I have a family and I wasn't interested in living with Contractors for 3 or so months.
2. Contractors not showing up, under delivering - I've heard the horror stories from many ppl regarding how bad it was when they had their basement finished.
I selected to contact Finished Basements Plus because of the 5 star google reviews. I read each one and they spoke to me. I felt I found a reliable company so I had them come out to give me a quote.
I met Chip at the first meeting and expressed my # 1 and #2 - he assured me that Finished basements only does basements and has their own crew and it will be painless, etc.
I can tell you he was accurate. upon starting the job in June - the crew was respectful and extremely mindful of my home and family - not to mention this was June - end of August, so the summer and my 4 young kids were home the whole time. Going to my basement requires you to track thru my garage, thru the kitchen and to the basement. The crew laid out protective carpet and even vacuumed up DAILY! The crew was extremely professional an was nothing but exceptional to my family down to my dog.
Katie during the design process was amazing - it took more time then expected (my end) however she was patient and offered great ideas that harmonized well with my vision and plan. We did some unique things that we out of the box / challenging and they took it head on and delivered!
During the project things would come up and the crew would always be accommodating and would jump all over it. Craig our project manager went above and beyond to make sure our needs were beyond met. I had a house hold emergency with my electrical one day "Unrelated" to the basement - and Craig helped me out no problem. Def a 5 Star White Glove Company.
Rob and Ed were amazing - The bar and the details of the custom work is beyond my expectation and they were happy to accommodate ideas along the way. They were amazing to my kids and beyond respectful - world class guys to have on any team. and if you recall - this was my #1 priority.

This company is the "cadillac" of basement finishers. Overall, a great experience. Everyone we dealt with, including subcontractors, was top-notch, professional, helpful, friendly. Joe (sales), Katie & Karen (designers), Craig (project manager), Mike (final work - mirror hanging, handrail, etc), just to name a few, were excellent in their areas. Craig answered all calls & texts promptly, took care of all of our concerns. He even talked with our Comcast tech on a Sunday morning! Katie continued to assist us with design questions throughout the process, and then even after work was completed. Mike was great, offering helpful suggestions, answering many questions, he is very knowledgeable and good at what he does. Workers showed up promptly & workday ended at a reasonable, prompt time, just like they said it would. Everybody was just so polite & helpful, I can't say enough. Really, I have not one negative comment. Even the electrical contractors helped me find my hiding cat before they started their work! If you are looking to have your basement finished without any headaches or stress and have a great-looking basement in the end, this is the company to hire. This was one smooth operation. They finished 3 weeks ahead of schedule!

We just finished a project with Finished Basement Plus. Starting from a 2 hour in-house consulting, a detailed quote and plan, material selection and plan finalized, and finally the construction. All the steps were clear, simple, and good communication. Everyday the construction floor is nice and clean, even the runner to the stairs got cleaned daily. I have yet to hear back from them after our hour and a half consultation on finishing our basement. It's been over three weeks. The representative was supposed to send us documents to get us started and put us on the schedule for August. Very disappointed especially given the fact that i expressed my worry about being stuck with an unreliable company after paying. He had reassured us that they were not like that.
