Very nice rooms, much better than expected for the price. Pool is on the smaller side but enough given the average capacity. Breakfast is alright, given a wide variety of choices of both food and drink. Definitely a good budget-conscious option. Recommend.

Well-kept and appointed MOTEL not too far from downtown and the theatres. Large room and comfortable room
Internet only available if you have a laptop and a cable. Would do well to have a srong wi-Fi and a password. Was useleess to me with a smartphone.

Hostess at the front desk was very rude upon my arrival, Stains on the outside of the toilet, smell of sulphur when I turned the shower on, rooms could be updated, the lobby was beautiful but the rooms need to be updated

We booked a room here for two nights. The booking contract stated there was free high speed internet included with the room. The room was at the end of a long wing and there was no internet. When I called the desk to report it I was told there was nothing they could do, claiming there must be too many users. This was a false claim as it didn't work when i tried late at night and early in the morning. I was not offered any compensation for the internet i didn't get but did pay for. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The staff were not overly accommodating. They refused to allow a late check out. They twice came knocking on our door claiming there was a noise complaint while allowing an entire youth hockey team and a wedding to run the halls until the early morning hours. The free breakfast was also mediocre at best

The Stratford Festival as an organization is first class. We make reservations in January for the summer months. We had to make a few changes and exchange tickets this year. They were most accommodating and the the whole process was quite easy.
We are so lucky to have such first rate live theater just a few hours away!!

Attending an Eastern Star reception today, I must say I have NEVER had roast beef as tender & juicy at a public venue before. Kudos to the chef - this time the unsung hero! The wait staff were very good as well but PLEASE offer the chef my thanks & comments.

Room wasn't cleaned the three days we were there. I ran out of towels and brought all our wet towels to the front deck to get more. At that time he brought us more towels to the room i had to change the garbage myself. The pool was nice but would have been nice to have a little more notice for the closure during the wedding. Other than that it was a nice hotel.

My hubby and I stay here every time we come out this way. Love it! It's not a fancy luxury hotel, but it is wholesome, and quiet.
Since Covid, obviously they don't have the breakfast going on, but we have had it before and it was really good as well! Definitely won't stay anywhere else when we come to Stratford

The land that time forgot. Is a mishmash of old and new with construction workers sitting on a bench outside my window drinking and blasting music until 3 am. The A/C was in the washroom hall. Awful. The smell is interesting. The wifi is terrible.

It was an alright stay. The rooms were pretty nice, we were a bit worried when it smelled like smoke throughout the halls as we were walking to our rooms but inside our rooms there was no smoke smell. The shower was pretty tiny, one side of me was pressed against a wet shower curtain. There were two sinks in the room which was nice.

We always stay at the festival in when in Stratford. It's easily accessible from the highway it's close to lots of restaurants and other amenities. Provides all the must-haves such as: Reasonable price, clean rooms and has been a quiet Hotel whenever we've been there. They also offer a small Fitness room, a decent-sized indoor pool and a hot tub. Breakfast is included in sort of a sit-down restaurant. They serve you drinks but it's still buffet style for the food. The food is slightly higher quality than a typical continental breakfast but still lower quality than a restaurant.

Wifi is spotty. Netflix is out of the question. Dont rely on the internet for work or other important tasks.

Overall it's a nice, quiet, friendly hotel, just wish they'd upgrade their network.

Great breakfast, unexpected selections hot diverse buffet included with the room. Selected this particular place as advertised indoor pool, hot tub & sauna..sauna was out of order but having the pool & hot tub was great. The place is very dated in all aspects but clean, spacious & comfortable..This place must have been quite the fancier place when new but I still liked & appeciate their offerings

decent

Check in was quick and simple. We were in the back motel part. Room was very basic. Bathroom very small. Beds comfortable enough for a night. We were there with a wedding. It's smart to put us out there since we were louder and didn't disturb other guests. Breakfast was ok. A waffle maker or pancake maker would have made it better. The coffee wasn't that great. Waitresses seemed stressed trying to clear the tables and get guests seating. If they slowed down a bit and smiled the atmosphere would be more pleasant and probably go faster. Check out was quick and painless.

Nice place, nice room but you are dropping the ball on service.

I am a guest who works nights. I am currently staying here @ $129/night. Yet, I can't to get my room cleaned. Each evening when I go to work at 8pm I flip the sign to Maid Service. When I return anywhere from 5am-9am my room HAS NOT been made up... You can do better, I know it!

Lack of wifi and no ability to control temperature in the room is infuriating in this day and age. Also the blankets are extremely uncomfortable. Going by the name we assumed it would be in the core of Stratford but it is actually situated on the very outside.

The rooms are clean. Carpet looks and feels new. Bed is clean. Only down side is the coffee machine. It had water calcium in the bottom. So i boiled the water. And poured back in the water resevoir. The coffee tasted great. Even with the powdered cream. Internet is good enough for youtube. I didnt play any games. Netflix works but slow to start but no interuptions once it started. Havent had the breakfest yet. Heard the sausages are good, most places have gaebage sausages.

Update (7/21/18):

Update (7/21/18):
On the second day, management did allow us to move to another room, which was more spacious and not as bad-smelling. She apologized for the staff member from the night before, who did not allow us to switch.

There was still a faint odor to the water in the new room (and I recognize this faint smell is not that uncommon in certain areas), but the overall condition of the room was much better (although I requested a modernized/upated room and did not receive that - it still looked like a time warp) - and it was nowhere near strong enough to fill the entire room for hours on end, as in the previous room. The first room had corrosion in the tub, the tub faucet was pulling away from the wall, and there was rotting drywall next to the tub as well. (They really should not rent that room at all until it's updated.)

I would recommend steering clear of this place. In my opinion it cost about twice what it should have, even for the better room - and no one should have to be in the room we were in initially.

Ways in which this hotel is awful (written 7/18/18):

1) 1970s era ceilings haven't been touched
2) some rooms are updated; others are not but the rates are the same (and in some cases even more for the worse rooms )
3) the bathroom light can only be turned on along with the outside-the-bathroom sink. Got a kid who needs a nightlight? Your whole room will be lit up like daylight and you won't be able to sleep (which is why I'm writing this at 1 AM). Keep it off and the room is so pitch black you'll risk injury in the tight quarters if you get out of bed because there is no good place to put your suitcases.
4) "free wifi" is different from "free internet" and if you're in a "courtyard" room (I.e. Outdoor motel style) you don't get wifi which is a serious misrepresentation of amenities.
5) last and absolutely worst of all is the horrible smell, which is a known problem that they neither warn of nor provide any discount / compensation for. My husband tried to change rooms and was told it's an issue throughout the facility, and that he could not change rooms without paying an additional fee. I'm sensitive enough to odors that I currently have a sore throat /beginnings of a migraine from the bizarre combo of sulfuric water, possibly old cigarette smoke from a bygone era that is lingering in the drywall, maybe some mold, and chemical cleaners used to try to mask the smells. You'll smell worse after your shower than before... So gross.

I'm so disappointed .. There are many awesome places we could have stayed instead for less or equal money. I've waited almost 30 years to get to Stratford for the second time, and we made a seriously bad choice.

(See airbnb before you book here!)

This hotel doesnt realize how cool it is. The decor here is aged, but well cared for, lasting a full fashion cycle and becoming trendy again! My bathroom shower and toilet was millennial pink, and the pool room was like being transported to the 70s. This is not a criticism. With some very tempered changes, this could be a major destination for bloggers and Instagrammers. Weakest feature was breakfast which could use a revamp. We would go out next time despite the convenience of staying in. We had a large group - more than 9 rooms - and everyone was happy. A great evening was spent with kids and family in the pool and hottub. Please let me throw an 70s themed California pool party here. We would all be famous... wish I took more photos.

Stayed in a room that was 1 queen bed (one of the more cost effective rooms) in mid September. The hotel itself is honestly good for the price. When you're trying to save money on a hotel this is a good option. The free breakfast had good gluten-free options alongside vegan/veg food (home fries, the toast, jam, tropical fruit, juice) but sadly no almond/soy milk :(

The pool was alright. In need of updating but standards should never be high for hotel pools there was also a sauna, patio, and hot tub.

Noise level between rooms is not bad, can't hear much which is good.

The room we stayed in (queen & cheaper) was really cute. The bed was really comfortable, lots of channels on the tv, loved the cruelty free soap, and the shower was beautiful. The only problem was the room was quite humid for it not being that humid outside which made it difficult sleeping for some. Fridge (with freezer) and micro were available per request.

Pets are allowed with an extra charge :) and there is a small gym as well.

Front desk and housekeeping are super sweet and helpful! Thanks to Kayla for making our room so nice!

Would definitely stay here again for the great price and good rooms (especially with the competing prices in stratford).
