OK, so we ordered ferrymans draught, out of stock. Ordered then J & B and soda. Received something else. Waiter can't be bothered. Non existence service. Needless to say we will not be back. Sorry this is not the end. Then I ordered a Stella Artois draught. Out of stock again.

Took a Smokey Bluers, quite expensive considering it comes with some oven chips. Tomato and onions were good, as well as the blue cheese.
Sadly the meat is your average patty that is just cooked like any normal fastfood...

Nice vibe, good service but way overpriced seafood platter for one... no mussels so I said I'd have extra calamari but it was really a standard plate of food and not a platter... prawns small and under-cooked, sauce bland and fish under-cooked too. Bit disappointed but they were pumping so I somewhat understand... don't eat at a pub/tavern that's pumping! Food is not going to be of high standards.

Good day I am very disappointed my husband went to your pub while his ship was in during armed forces day he had a draft and paid the barman with a 200 note I know that for a fact because I gave it to him the barman (with short dread locks) argued that it was a 50.00 but besides that there where cockroaches running across your bar over the lemons when that barman was asked what he going to do about it he just shrugged his shoulders....will be putting this on Google and TripAdvisor.
It's a tourist bar, you get what you expect. Had a couple of local beers which were nice. Live music was fun. I'm sure there are better places to go to in Cape town.
I love this place. Amazing vibe, great staff and really good food! Always a go-to when you meet up with a couple of friends or the family.

I was in the Waterfront on Friday 24th July with my friend and the weather was beautiful. I had an appointment to attend and just thought I will go for a quick breakfast as I was very close to Ferryman's Tavern which seemed the best option at the time. It was around 12.30 midday, however they had a breakfast add outside and I thought this is perfect as I was rushed and did not have time to have breakfast at home.
We had our temp check done and went to sit down on the outside area waiting to be served.
The waiter (Dylan) approached us and I asked about having breakfast. Firstly he asked me what the time was, as breakfast end at 12.00 in mind the breakfast add in the front. I was all good with that, and asked about their flat bread. No flat bread available either. I then asked "What is the most popular meal here". He answered "Chicken wings and chips".
All good, we ordered 2 Virgin cocktails in the meantime, while looking at available options on the menu. My friend and I was sipping on our drinks when another customer came walking in and asked about breakfast. The customer was a table away from us. A very polite female waitress was assisting him and he referred to the breakfast add outside.Without any further ado the customer was assisted and advised that "Yes breakfast is available" and she asked "How would you like your eggs done Sir".
Wow!!!!!! I felt so hurt as just 15 minutes prior to this occasion we were refused breakfast. I asked to speak to the Manager regarding this matter. The manager came and had a very bad attitude, trying to explain that because of COVID-19 they only had 3 chef's and they are balancing out their meals. The manager then asked, "when did you ask for breakfast?"
Really? At this time I was fuming, as the manager advised that the waiter made a mistake and he will go find out if the chef Can make us breakfast.)
This was messed up as we were sitting there for 30 minutes now.
I then asked for the bill as I needed to run as far away as I could from this place. Firstly once again they have showed me that the colour of my skin played a roll in their Service given to me and secondly, as a Customer Service manager in a professional institution, I received the lowest service ever, I am embarrassed. I hope the management of Ferryman's Tavern looks into this matter as we need all the customers we can get in this trying time. If 1 customer is lost it can damage your business as word of mouth can also be extremely damaging.

Well-kept and cozy restaurant with good value for money. Well sorted drinks and menu. The drinks are good. Daily live music in the garden. The portion sizes of the dishes are adequate. The taste is good. Large children's playground next door.

Great pub. Lively atmosphere, good menu and live music. Gets very busy so finding a place to sit can be challenging. Service is excellent even when busy.

Compared to some of the other restaurants around the waterfront, the prices here are fairly decent.
This is the second time here. The first time they obliged to the request of creating a custom platter, which ended up being very enjoyable.
The staff are friendly and the service is good, however there is some room for improvement in this regard.

During the day time it's the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat, always has some sort of live music in or nearby to enjoy, it has a great seating area for those who have kids with them during the day when it's very relaxed, however when it turns to the evening it's more of a bar with live music nearby (loads of bikers park their bikes just outside so for bike fans it's great to view some different bikes). Vibey like the rest of the waterfront.
Service slower than a dead snail, food sub par and sitting in non smoking section smelled like smoking section due to close proximity to each other.

Not only do they serve some really delirious food but also the vibe is amazing and you can enjoy a live band performance as well. Really lovely place to socialize,have a drink and a bite with some family and friends.
