The best thing about living in Ferndale is the awesome library!!! Awesome customer service, very helpful staff, good selections that keeps getting better and more diverse, and tons of positive events. #home
I live in Hazel Park. I go to the Ferndale Library...for many readons. All of them are good. They have WAY more computers than Hazel Park. You get 4 hours instead of 2 on the computers. At Hazel Park, I spend more time having the staff More
Awesome place to be, very nice clean and very helpful staffs. Very good collection of books.
Great customer service , helpful staff, updated movie selection , clean environment, and great events!
This is an amazing building. They atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I use the library primarily to rent DVDs but have got books and other materials. The staff is friendly and professional. I ve also used the community room on multiple occasions and it s a great resource to have available. This is a fun and family friendly environment.
I aways enjoy browsing here. The staff is great and glad to help. An active library with lectures, meetings, music.
Amazing. It's so quiet and peaceful. Staff actually enforces the rules.
Don't like this Library I remember one time they Accused me of leaving Christian Tracts in the bathroom when it was two Mormons in the Library that day. This took place in 2015. So I don't go there any more. I prefer West Bloomfield Library
Great place for toddlers and kids Good activities and friendly staff My baby loves the story time and every activity for infants
FPL has been a godsend for me in a million ways but especially now. They have the best youth librarians on Earth! Before parenthood I always came to the library for the usual stuff, books, DVDs, use the computer, Wi-Fi, printer, and copier. The services have always been top notch and everyone is very kind. However now with my son I feel even more overwhelmed with love for the FPL. Thank you!
This library is beautiful. Very helpful staff. Parking is great and very very inexpensive. They have a wide selection of DVDs and even have a lot of retro TV series available! I love it there.
Nice but a little dirty. Beware the police ticket cars like crazy in the parking area outside the library
Great library with a lot of resources and kind staff. It's also very comfortable with so much seating available. :)
I am so impressed with the curbside pick up at the Ferndale library. Thank you for offering this service and all the hard work that the staff does to help out the library patrons. I miss attending baby story time ( a program I love ). The librarians at this library really go the extra mile !!
Every interaction I've had here has been wonderful. The staff is helpful and the selection is great.
This is a cute library with friendly staffers. I love visiting the library check out the staff-recommended books on the shelves or to just sit down by the fireplace to read. Really cozy. The quiet areas are quiet and perfect for studying. This library is a hidden gem of Ferndale.
One of the best libraries around...the staff is awesome anything you are searching for they definitely helps out.
The Ferndale Library is not the largest library, but fits with Ferndale. The collection is still a good size and you are able to check out books from other local libraries and have them delivered to the Ferndale Library to check out. I have never had an issue getting a book that I was looking for. There is also great programming for people of all age including music, children's story time, Adulting 101, classes, gaming for teens, book clubs, etc. There is plenty of seating available in the main library area and just outside the doors to get work done. There are larger meeting rooms that your can reserve. Depending on the day there are people having meetings, doing activities such as crafts, playing board games or having a get together. The children's area is in the back corner when you enter the library, we spend a lot of time there. There is only one entrance and exit (besides emergency) which makes it a lot easier to keep track of your little ones. The librarians get to know your family and even greet my toddler by name every time we come in. They are also very knowledgeable about children's books even telling me what book I wanted from the random description I gave them (pig, striped pants, etc). The children's programming is also wonderful. I've been to everything from the baby story time to toddler story time and the music and movement program. Both my child and I have enjoyed them. The Ferndale Library has probably been one of my favorite libraries in a place that I have lived. The small town feel where they get to know you with still having the services and ability to get books that you would expect from a larger library.
My only interest in the library is for their youth stuff. They have frequent reading hours and really great staff. It's pretty cool
Nice library. That when you consider the size of Ferndale is surprisingly large.
Quiet, but ever since they remodeled, there just aren't as many books. They removed over half of their stock. Every time I go in I am saddened by this. It's more of a community center / internet cafe than a library now. It's also full of people waiting for the bus, and the furniture is always gross or littered with crumbs.
We are so fortunate to have this amazing library in our community. The building itself is modern, bright, cheerful, comfortable and green. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The library offers all the basic resources you would expect, but goes way above and beyond bringing innovative programming that is both educational and fun! I would venture to say that Ferndale has one of the coolest libraries around.
