Appetizers and seafood mac and cheese were very good! The Dead-Eye Double IPA was awesome! And they make their own hot sauce, Fisherman's Burn, is a must try if you enjoy it spicy. I know that I will be back!

The beers are top notch. The fish and chips, fisherman's platter, the haddock sandwich, they do one of the tastiest fried fish (usually haddock) around. You're in Gloucester and you're getting fresh fish.Rest of the menu is decent too I just gravitate to the fresh fish.
They make their own fries and potato chips. Wicked.

Gets loud when packed but service even when crowded is quick and friendly. Take out growlers. Bring the empties back! Great deal.

Great micro-brewery, pretty good kitchen, so-so service. The beer is always outstanding, and we like to keep a couple of their growlers in our fridge. The food is tasty, but the wait staff often make mistakes. They're usually good about fixing them.

Stopped by for lunch in the early afternoon. The beer was solid but the service was less than stellar. The staff seemed disinterested which is understandable in a fairly empty restaurant but there was little customer engagement whatsoever.

Great restaurant! Very friendly people and good live music. We were surprised with the quality of their seafood- very impressive. They have some classic burgers and soups, and authentic and (somewhat exotic) seafood!

I love Cape Ann Brewery. Whenever I take my kids to Cape Ann Whale Watch in Gloucester MA, we always have dinner there. Great food and a huge selection of beer. The restaurant is right on the Harbor and just a beautiful atmosphere! Two thumbs up!

Service was strange. Hostess may have forgot to tell us the menu was hanging from the ceiling, where to find the draft list, and we were suppose to order everything at once. Waitress was annoyed with us, likely for the same reason. Otherwise, the beer was good along with the food. Pretty good pulled chicken nachos.

The Dead Eye Double IPA is absolutely delicious. The pulled pork sandwiches are delicious. I ordered the $25 "Fisherman's Platter" that was described as various seafood with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Instead I got a HUGE plate of fried everything. Fried seafood with French fries. It was not good. I still like the restaurant, but I recommend avoiding seafood here because it's all deep fried, which is a real shame because the restaurant has a beautiful ocean view.

Pretty awesome food, drink, patrons, and staff. Very chill vibe. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the prices are just a tad-only a tad, too expensive. For example, calamari app is $10, but the entree is $14 (entree includes fries and coleslaw). So it's not too bad, but just a tad too....

Good location. I did not try the food. The deck outside was very nice with several rocking chairs and a cool breeze.

I only gave three stars because I was disappointed with the beer quality. I brew beer at home, and I am fan of ales. I did not enjoy the majority of the beers in my flight on my visit. I enjoyed the Fisherman's brew and the IPA. Both were flavorful and easy to drink. The Brew has a good malty profile with excellent mild hop flavor. The IPA is not overhopped and very flavorful.

The remainder of my flight was super light. They were seasonal beers. There was a Pils (decent), a session beer (did not finish), and a fruity IPA that I did not enjoy. Now, I like a specific type of beer (mostly ales), so I generally do not drink saisons, sessions, or fruity beers. I would definitely visit again to try some of the stouts and other seasonal options. They were out of the stout I wanted to try. Overall, a great place to visit. They have board games and a beautiful deck.

Food was okay except the hair in the Mac and cheese and burger all wrong. The rats and mice on the deck were disturbing, when we asked to be moved to a different table we were originally told we could not be moved after seated. They did move us to another part of the deck that has more mice and rats. Went in to have our food wrapped to go and got yelled at when we forgot to put a mask on. No apology or offer of compensation. First and last time going there!

We had an awful experience there tonight. There were 7 of us, 3 adults and 4 kids. We went for dinner and it wasnt very busy. After 20 minutes of sitting there without any acknowledgment by any of the staff members, I went to the hostess stand to ask if we had a server and was told they'd send one out right away and that they had forgotten to assign us one. The server came out and we gave her our entire order - drinks, appetizers and entrees. My husband has a dairy allergy and we told her if there was any dairy in the seafood stew, he would have the lobster roll instead. She even repeated it back to us. The 3 beers ordered came out, as did 2 of the kids drinks. The 2 waters ordered by 2 of the kids took 15 minutes to come out. Then we got the appetizers AND the entrees at the same time, except for my husbands order. Five minutes after everyone else got their food, a different server came out to tell him there was dairy in the seafood stew and to ask him what was the other option he wanted. My husband told him the lobster roll and then had to wait another 15-20 minutes before getting it. He had also asked for a Sprite, which he never received. Not once did a manager come over to talk to us. The waitstaff made themselves scarce and we didn't see them once we had our food. We couldn't even let the server know that the salad mu daughter had ordered without dressing came loaded with dressing. We sat at the table after we were done eating waiting for someone to come. My husband finally went to ask for the manager, who said she would see what she could do. And again, never came speak to us. I've worked in many restaurants in my life and the managers have ALWAYS gone to speak to the table if something wasn't right. She did comp 1 appetizer, 2 beers and the lobster roll. We weren't looking for a free meal, but just some courtesy for how bad our experience was by speaking to us and apologizing, which should definitely be done when a table was seated and not assigned a server. This is not someplace I would recommend to anyone after the service we received.

This pub was alright. We thought we came at an off time and could catch the staff in a good mood. It took over 15 mins to get seated on the patio which was fine for how good the food originally looked. Was told we needed to have our food and drink order in at the same time and had to have it ready when the waitress comes by. Drinks were good. Food had an off putting flavor, they ran out of brisket and the clam chowder was so loose.

Feel like we used to get more food before. Mussels, fried clam, clam chowder and cod bits all excellent. Fish and chips were sad, way too much batter very little fish on all 3 orders from our group, cold fries too.

Top 3 best breweries in Boston and definitely in the North Shore. Beer selection is always excellent and the food is real good.

Atmosphere day or night in this place is a nice laid back happy party.

My go to every time I'm in town.

First, if I could give less than one star, I would. HIGHLY disappointed in this place. Extremely uncomfortable seating. Hard, wooden, picnic tables with no support or cushioning. Selection of food was very limited. My guest & I got the brisket and steak tips. Well...his brisket was ALL fat & I have no idea what my steak tips were marinated in. Shame on you. I'll NEVER go back & will make sure to inform many others of the same.

Came here for lunch, staff was friendly, had the brisket grilled cheese, it is humungous, I couldn't finish it if I wanted to. The sour raspberry wheat beer was very nice and the views are great, would definitely recommend. Hope to come back soon.

Great place for lunch and beer. They initially were out of clam chowder, so we got fish 'n chips and a beer flight to start. The fish was excellent, and we enjoyed most of the beers. After walking around town an hour or so, we stopped back in for a bowl of chowder, and it was worth the wait!

Two tired boys. Could have used crayons or something but staff was very friendly and understanding. Beer was really well done. I had the Scottish ale. Food was good pub fair. Was afraid to try ghost chilli wings.

Later found they had a corner full of toys for kids.

great little brewpub by the shore. The German beers, Helles, Dopplebock...Etc, are amazing. Ipa's need a little work but good for the average beer drinker. Nachos were HUGE. Overall very good, recommend coming here this time of year. Fireplace was cranking.

Wonderful craft brewery and tap bar, staff are very attentive and outside seating overlooking the harbour adds to the atmosphere. A huge barbeque/smoker outside the entrance wafts irresistible odours to the surrounding area, enticing you to come in drink beer and eat.

Decent food, but I was a little disappointed with the beer selection. Only 8-10 beers available; I would have expected more from a brewery with as many different beers as they do. Not even talking about the more specialized beers (I was disappointed that the 70 Shilling wasn't available), but even the Fisherman's IPA wasn't available. I thought that was their flagship IPA...

My girlfriend and I decided to visit Rockport and Glaucester for our anniversary (not so much fun) we had decided in advance to stop at Cape Ann Brewing Company for what ended up being a late lunch (approximately 2:00 PM). The staff we came across were excellent, friendly and in my opinion they seemed like a well oiled pit crew swooping in to bring food and checks as well as bus the few tables as soon as people stood up. Let's talk about the tables. The tables were approximately 20 foot long picnic tables with a nice finish. Multiple parties were crammed into these tables. Having a conversation with anyone consisted of yelling over the obnoxious crowd. The place seemed more like a farm trough than a brewery, herding cattle in to stuff their faces and then right back out the door.. the longest part of the event is waiting for seating, for us it was 40 minutes. The Beer from what we tried was pretty okay but nothing to write home about. The food was average. We had pulled pork tacos and brisket tacos, the bbq was about average, also nothing to write home about. I had coleslaw and French fries, the slaw was not great.. honestly KFC has better slaw. French fries were typical french fries and the portions were pretty average definitely not worth the check, however the staff is absolutely worth a good tip. The attire for this joint seems to be boat shoes and salmon colored shirts accompanied by the I am rich, loud and obnoxious attitude.
