Faithful Companion Pet Cremation Services Review

This is the email I sent to Faithful Companion after using their services:
I wanted to email your company regarding my experience with Faithful Companion Services. We were given your information from My Pets Vet Group for cremation for our precious Bailey who passed Monday 5/21. I was very disappointed when I called your office and spoke with Doug who never said anything regarding our loss and mainly wanted my credit card information. He didn t give me any information or options and I had to ask him questions about the urn and personalized name plate. He said someone would call me after the cremation to set up time for bringing her home. Another person called me who set up the time (can t recall his name) and I think he said sorry sometime during the call but again there was no expression of care or concern about what we were going through. It was all very cold and uncaring. The person that came to our home was the only person who said that he was sorry for our loss and that was the only expression of sympathy that we had with your company.

Our loss was very sudden and we were in total shock. I was surprised at the lack of compassion from a company whose brochure reads Whatever your needs may be, our experienced and compassionate staff will help you through this difficult time. I have lost 5 other pets and 4 of them were cremated in Columbus at Schoedinger Funeral Home. I received such a sense of compassion and concern each time with their company and they treated me the same way they would if I had lost a person.

I hope my email will encourage you to do some quality assurance regarding your staff. During a very difficult time for us your company actually made it worse. How do I even know if these are really Bailey s ashes if this is how you treat the person that is paying you for a service? Also, the costs were a lot more than I have ever paid in the past.

Such care and comfort given to my beloved 4 pawed baby. They were so kind. I am grateful for their service.

We were given the wrong remains.

Two days ago we had to put down our dog, Zuli. We decided to have her cremated. They were very quick to schedule delivery for this morning.

My wife was given a box with remains and a copy of the paperwork that I filled out at the vet. However, after inspecting it, it was clearly labeled as "Cremated Remains of Sherman" and the paperwork attached to the bag was for Hunter Petcare in Franklin, OH.

Understandably, my wife and I are very upset. It was beyond difficult to put down a member of our family of 11 years and then to have to worry if her remains were lost. After a couple of phone calls they found the correct remains and had them delivered.

I can understand that mistakes happen but with such a sensitive subject I find it inexcusable. If the delivery man had even bothered to quickly double check the package he could've saved us a lot of heartache.

One of the owners of the company, Joe, reached out to me to personally apologize for our experience and offer a refund. He let us know that they would do their best to make sure this type of mixup doesn't happen again. I appreciate that he took the time to contact me personally.

Lost my dog and brought him here for cremation Extremely professional people who made the entire process very comfortable.

My experience was mixed. They were very prompt and respectful when picking up my girl. However it was downhill from there. They did not call to deliver her back to me. When i called to check on her I was told they did call even though my phone did not show any calls and I did not have any message. The lady employee argued that the delay was my fault because i did not answer my phone...really! At the time of grief I really did not feel I need the push back. I would not use them again - I need amd paid for follow thru from beginning to end.

Faithful Companion went above and beyond anything I could have expected during the loss of our dog. We had an in-home (actually backyard) euthanasia scheduled same day and Faithful Companion was right there, flexible with their schedule, in the evening to pick him up. The sincerity and sweetness of the employees was unexpected and so appreciated. They returned our sweet old pup s cremains in less than 24 hours with the utmost sympathy and professionalism on alums. I would recommend them to all my friends and family.

At a time when there were no words to comfort me and there was nothing anyone could do to take the pain away. Yes I lost my best friend and vowed to take care of her until the final end. Faithful Companion gave me that ability. Not being a trusting person and having heard all sorts of horror stories, I wondered how I would be guaranteed that the ashes I would take home would actually be my Lucy. With Faithful Companion I had no reason to worry. I was able to be with her the entire time, from start to finish and the staff was supportive, caring and understanding. Thank you Faithful Companion for allowing me to peacefully and trustingly put Lucy to rest. I can't begin to explain what that meant to me. Diane

My baby Gizzmo passed unexpectedly Thursday October 8. He was my best friend and companion, I would like to thank you for your service and compassion with the loss of my baby. I will be forever grateful for your service at such a hard time.

My dogs remains were handled very respectfully by this company and returned promptly. I felt like the card provided was a reprint that is sent out over and over again making it seem very impersonal. Other crematory services that I am aware of make a point to plaster a paw print for you to keep forever, which would definitely add a personal touch. This business needs to be more personal and I truly do not believe I would recommend them for my other beloved dog.

I am very pleased how the whole process went. The person who I emailed was very nice and understanding. Helped me through the start process and price quotes. Her on email and the guy who came and picked my dog up kept telling me how sorry for my loss. The guy put my dog in a box with a pillow inside. He explained everything to me and asked if I had any questions. They returned him the next afternoon in a beautiful bag. My dogs ashes were put into a beautiful wooden box. The bag also contained a signed card as well as information and receipt. Thank you guys for making my boys and I grieving a little less. You guys did a great job. Highly recommend and will use again.

Very professional and understanding. I hardly ever give 5 stars for anything but this place did and exceptional job and was very comforting. They made a very sad situation smooth to get through. Plus the service they offer is hands down the best in Cincinnati. They also came through on a Sunday which was very nice because they were there when we needed them.

The sudden lost of our dog, Bentley, left a huge hole in our hearts. But they made this hard time easier with their caring and professional ways. So happy are vet recommended their service to us.

Extremely professional. All their beautiful urns are on display so you can see and touch them. Also various pendants. Their pricing is really reasonable. Three tier levels. 1st- you drop off and pickup. 2nd- Faithful Companion will pickup and return. 3rd- same as second tier except you get a really nice marble urn. Open until 10pm every night ! ! !

It's always hard losing a pet, the staff did a great job understanding what I had gone through and were extremely professional throughout.

This company works fast. Our dog passed away yesterday so of course, it was a very sad evening to not have him around anymore. This morning we got a call from Faithful Companion letting us know they had his cremains and would deliver everything back to MedVet today, so that we could pick him up from there. The box and engraving is beautiful and very well put together. You just know your old buddy is resting peacefully in there. We were able to bring him back home and all has ended well for our beloved pet.

We lost our beloved cat very unexpectedly early morning on a Sunday. Not knowing what to do with our vet being closed and most other places not opening again until Monday, we were fortunate to find Faithful Companion was open. We met with a gentleman, Paul, that morning who was very kind and walked us through our options. He allowed for us to have a moment of privacy to say goodbye one last time and assured us we would have her ashes returned within 24 hours. Just as he had assured, she was returned home to us the very next day by another very kind gentleman, who hand-delivered her to our front door. This has been a very difficult time for us, but Faithful Companion helped make it easier with their compassion and ease of service.

I lost my sweet baby Snowball yesterday. I had the vet's office send her off to be cremated and wasn't expecting to get her back today. She was put in a very pretty box with a signed sympathy card and a copy of the Rainbow Bridge poem. My other 2 came back in a week (give or take) and was in a white tin. I'm guessing the vet's office has changed crematorium. I will be calling Faithful Companion to see if I can purchase 2 containers and put my other 2 babies in there.

I lost my kitty Grace yesterday. Anyone who thinks that raising a pet isn't like raising a child is absolutely wrong. We had 17 years of feedings, playtime & toys, injuries & illness, complaints about bath time - I even got to experience "the joy" of diaper changing once she reached her twilight years.
Our family vet (Dr. Jenn at the East Hills Vet Clinic off Wards Corner Rd exit) recommended the services of "Faithful Companion" and I am absolutely blown away by the respect with which they treated my baby girl and their sincere sympathy for my loss.

They drove from Sharonville all the way into Kentucky to deliver her ashes to me. Surprise though, along with the urn holding her ashes I was given a remembrance ornament with her paw print and name. This blew me away because just before we let her go, my husband and I had taken an impression of her paw print for the exact same purpose.

5 stars to everyone at "Faithful Companion" for giving me a reason to smile on my very first day without my little Gracie.

They are very reasonable and helped our family tremendously. Very kind and professional. Brought our Lucy girl home to us quickly. Our clay paw print is some part of her we will always cherish.

My beloved Maisie passed away the night of April 12th, and when I made the decision to have her cremated, the veterinary clinic informed me that Faithful Companion would be handling the service. As I am not from America natively and Maisie passed away while we were on vacation, I was frantic that she would not be returned to me before I had to leave (my experience with cremation is that it takes a week or longer). The clinic assured me that Faithful Companion was very personal and would do their best to meet our deadline, and that the clinic staff would explain everything. It was true. My baby girl came back within 24 hours in a beautiful box, everything just so, and a sympathy card had even been attached. It was a great relief to me in this time that my baby came back to me ASAP, and the care taken for our situation was greatly appreciated. I only wish that I could have given her an engraving or something, but being out of country at the time made it difficult to get things together. Thank you, Faithful Companion, for making this nightmare of mine so much easier. I very much appreciate it.

My vet recommended Faithful Companion to us, and I feel really fortunate that we found you on the day we needed you most. My vet was coming to our home to help us say goodbye to our sweet boy Luca. She quoted a time that would be best for FC to arrive- they arrived at exactly that time. Today my husband and I took our beloved pet dog of 13 years to be cremated here after her passing Saturday night. The staff were warm, friendly, helpful and empathetic. They made the process smooth and nagivable at this difficult time. They were willing to answer all our questions and had a comfortable facility for coping with our loss. We will always remember and appreciate their support!

I cannot express how caring and compassionate Faithful Companion s are. Just last week they took care of our 18 year old dog, Duffy. Two years earlier, they took care of Tigger, our 14 year old poodle. They were respectful and caring. Their compassion shows in their excellent work ethic and the meticulous care they take with everyone s beloved pets. Both of their ashes are in the beautiful wooden boxes you provided, and are sitting on my dresser, until it is my turn to join them.

We lost our golden girl Miranda on October 17, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. While we are devastated we had to say goodbye, the care and professionalism shown by Faithful Companion made her passing somewhat easier. When her remains were delivered to us the next day, our 10 month old (75 lb.) puppy, whose world had been turned upside down in the past 24 hours, came bounding out the door. The gentleman was so kind and gracious - he petted her, calmed her down, and helped me get her back into the house. It has been very comforting to have Miranda "back home" while we continue our grieving process. Thank you so much for treating our big girl with such respect and dignity as well as the gentle act of kindness shown to the little sister she left behind.

I cannot say enough goods things about Faithful Companion. We lost our 15 yr old fur baby Zero unexpectedly.The staff was very compassionate and explained everything to us in detail. The staff went and picked him up at Med Vet and then delivered his remains to our house the following day. The box was beautiful with a beautiful inscription. We also purchased the paw print which turned out amazing. I am thankful we found them and will use them from now on. Thank you Faithful Companion for taking such great loving care of our baby boy. We are forever grateful.

After the unexpected loss of our beloved pet our local vet sent her remains to Faithful Companion. We received a beautiful packaged container on return along with a signed card. It's easy to see that care is taken throughout the process

I had a stray cat I took in and then her mama in March 16th 2000 18 she gave birth to 6 kittens three sets of twins to tortoise two Siamese white and two gray Tabby's three girls three boys she's a very loving cat it took a lot of time to get her trust and I took 6 months on February 15th I noticed that Mama wasn't feeling great I thought maybe she was just dehydrated unfortunately I took her to the SPCA and then 200 AR when I found out that she was not dehydrated she has sepsis sadly February 21st 2020 Mama crossed over the rainbow bridge thank you pet cremations part of me thank you for all the wonderful services that you did to bring Mom a home to me hibachi Porter was absolutely beautiful and thank you for the wonderful service that you did for me to provide her her final resting place the only family she knew I would recommend your services to every family and friend member that I know thank you again for the wonderful box and the beautiful Carrie took care of Mama

I can't make enough good comments about Faithful Companion and their professionalism/courtesy. Our mixed breed Grace was so sweet and loved everyone. She blessed our family for 14 1/2 years after my son rescued her as a puppy. We will miss her dearly. The vet at Union Pet Clinic (Ky....just south of Cincinnati) told us about Faithful Companion and recommended them highly if we were considering cremation. After some family discussion, we decided to use their service. I noticed in their brochure that, with appointment, I could observe the procedure. Thanks so much to Regina for setting it up. It was really special for me to be there and their associate Jonathon, was so understanding and considerate. Although I didn't expect it, I asked if it was ok for me to take our beloved Grace home with me that evening. He said yes but it would require a little longer wait. Of course, I said that would be no problem. I am so happy that Faithful Companion provides this service and that I could observe the procedure. But, what was so special to me was that I was able to take her home with me that same evening. Thank you so much!!

This was my first time using Faithful Companion for pet cremation and I would get them 10 out of 5 stars if I could. My situation was not great when we saw the oncologist for my beloved pitmix, I knew we had to say goodbye and the woman who helped us fill out the papers at MedVet was so sweet. She told me how Faithful Companion picks them up same day (huge factor for me) and would call me tomorrow to make sure arrangements were taken care of. It took one extra day because I wanted to order the paw print urn (which I had not said previous and we thought it might be a few extra days) and they were upfront thinking we had missed the order for next day cut off. My baby was back to me yesterday, Wednesday July 17th after we had to say our goodbyes on the 15th. Knowing this process would not be easy I can't thank those at Faithful enough for how smooth this was for not an easy time, they were so caring, professional and understood the pain. They have had to do this with their own pets and I give them outstanding reviews to anyone who has to go through this. Losing a pet is not easy but knowing they are in good hands meant the world to me. Thank you again for everything, the urn is beautiful and happy to have her home.

My boyfriend and I lost our little kitten Alfred very unexpected on Thursday night. I m new to the area so I had no clue who to go to for cremation. I looked everywhere and found Faithful Companion Pet Cremation Services and saw how many great reviews they had so we immediately drove over. We were greeted so kindly by a man even though we were a mess from the incident. His name was Daniel. Daniel gave us time to be alone with Alfred while we said our goodbyes. Then he discussed with us our options. It was quick and easy. Thank you so much Daniel for your kind words and I appreciate everything that you do. The following day we got our little Alfred back with an amazing paw print, beautiful box and a sweet card. The man who dropped him off was also incredibly kind. I ve never met a group of employees who are so thoughtful and sweet. Thank you all so much for what you do, even through this tough time you made it a little bit easier. While we knew "it" was coming, we never expected it to be a decision we had to make this past Saturday night. The emergency vet. explained our options & we opted for Faithful Companion, as their price was around what we had expected to pay. What made Faithful Companion stand out to us is the personalized service. The vet said they typically return the cremains in 48-72 hrs; I was beyond moved when I received a call this afternoon (Monday), less than 48 hours after our dog had died, to see if it was okay to return him to us this afternoon. (Even in writing this I am choked up, simply because it meant a lot to our whole family). Our lab, Monty, was returned to us in a beautiful wooden urn & not only that, they personally delivered him to our home (which I believe is over an hour drive from their location). I truly cannot say enough about Faithful Companion - our expectations have truly been exceeded.

With the sudden death of our dog on a Sunday, I was thankful to find Faithful Companion open. The employees were compassionate and helpful. They offer drop off or pick up services. Our dog's ashes were returned to us the next morning. Following all covid guidelines, they made a very difficult day easier and have provided us with a way to memorialize our beloved pet.

On September 27, 2019, I unexpectedly lost my sweet boy, Chief. My best friend was taken way from me way too soon. He was under the best care of MedVet Hospital. Despite their best efforts it was my sweet boy s time to go to Heaven. Once he left for Heaven, my attention immediately went to the care of his remains and him being brought back home to me as quickly as possible. After speaking with MedVet about my options, I knew Faithful Companion was the only option worthy of my sweet Chief s care. I needed him back home. The other option available with another company was a two week process & for me, that wasn t an option. Chief was treated with respect and that was so very important to me. I needed to know every step of the process. I called Faithful Companion and they explained the entire process. I was so comforted that I got my sweet boy back to me in 24 hours. When the doorbell rang, the gentleman that brought him home was so compassionate and truly seemed to care. He took the time to share his condolences and ask about Chief. The compassion and the professionalism was so comforting in my time of his unexpected loss. Thank you, Faithful Companion...words just don t seem adequate for the gratitude I feel.

I just want to sincerely thank you guys for always being prompt, professional, and courteous during what is otherwise an unbearably painful process. Your company has cremated two of my beloved dogs since March 2018, and on both occasions I ve been overwhelmed and sick with grief. The staff that have come to collect my dogs, as well as the drivers who have returned the urns to me the next day, have been kind and understanding, and the urns themselves are beautiful. I m not quite sure how to write a recommendation being so incredibly sad...I feel I need too though.....I want to talk about what we absolutely loved.....

#1 Our precious Mila....We rescued her 5 or 6 years ago from the SPCA....She was an older dog, but we immediately fell in love with her....She was so under weight, and needed all the love and support we had to give....Everyone says they have the best dog, but we truly did....She was an 82 lb lovable lap dog.... She definitely had her own personality!!! I could go on and on about her....

#2 COST We called several places to find out the cost of doing this...Most places including our own vet were close to or over $500 and she would be returned to us in a plastic container, or not returned to us at all.... We had to pick the most reasonable option available, and for us that was the $200 plan...We got her back the very next day(less than 24hrs) in a beautiful cherry would box....

#3 Customer Service is absolutely amazing!!!! This happened at night...We arrived right before they closed....Of course we were all crying....The gentleman who helped us brought out a cart , it had a very nice box on it, with a lovely cushion in it....I m sorry I missed his name, but I know you guys know who it is....He was sooooo very polite!!! Encouraged us to take our time(remember we got there right before closing), he was so understanding!! He explained everything that would happen and how it would work....Absolutely the best customer service I ve ever had.... They delivered her back to us at 1:45 pm the very next day (included in price)... The gentleman who brought her back, was just as great as the gentleman from the night before....She came back in wood urn, in a nice bag, along with a sympathy card.... It really meant a lot to us....I just can t believe how incredible this place was, and everything they told us was accurate, and she was handled with such great care....I ll only use and recommend this place for all future needs..

Our dear dog Barook, aka Brooky, left for the Rainbow Bridge yesterday morning. We were shattered, as we knew we would lose him soon, but we didn't think it would be that day. Our wonderful vet, Bev Ramos, helped him on. We got his remains and paw print this afternoon. He is home, where he belongs.

Great experience. My pet owl got hit by a car one day, and miraculously survived. His life had been bad ever since. He developed PTSD, and I had to take time off work to coach him back to health. He had been getting better, so one day I decided to leave him at home while I went to get groceries and food. I left out some treats and mice for him, but when I got home he was dead, lying on the floor. He had choked on his own pellet. I was destroyed. I picked up his limp body, and quickly dropped him as his body was so cold. He had died hours ago! I decided to leave him. I forgot about him for a while, maybe a week? I decided, while in tears, to consume part of his eye as to make him a part of myself forever. I took out the eye, and boiled it to remove the germs. I quickly ate a piece and held my mouth closed as to not vomit. I cried for 3 hours after. I had to seek therapy. After 2 months of therapy, I was ready to take him to be cremated. His body was almost half rotted away, but it was less of him to get rid of, right? The staff was so kind and helpful. They advised me not to eat anymore of the owl while waiting on a set date for the cremation, but I decided to consume the rest of his eye from prior. It wasn't as bad as the first time, but I did get a little nauseous after. A week later, I took his body in to get cremated and the staff got the job done quickly. I now have his ashes in a jar on my bedside table. Loved the staff, good work!

(side note: the ashes tasted pretty good as well!)

Our dog kiko passed away suddenly and we called everywhere looking for help . So glad we called Faithful Companion they were so kind and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone . Thanks again for your kindness .

I just lost my best friend Missy of almost 17 years. I always dreaded the day and knew it would be one of the hardest days of my life. Faithful Companions has made this process so easy and I cannot thank them enough. The entire staff is extremely compassionate and caring. Thank you for making this process as smooth as possible.

After our beloved dog (Sasha) was treated at The Pony Express, they recommended Faithful Companion Pet Services. We opted to use them for Sasha. The entire scheduling of the process is done at Pony Express and they reassured us that Sasha was in good hands. The very next day we received a phone call from Faithful Companion, the very first words were "We are so sorry for your loss". That to us meant so much in a time of emotional distress. They were absolutely professional and respectful. The gentlemen walked us through the entire process and assured us that Sasha was taken care. They scheduled a time to drop off our beloved Sasha that worked for us. The gentleman that dropped her off was friendly and displayed great respect. The package contained the ashes, the receipt and we didn't expect a sympathy card signed by the staff and a bookmaker of the Rainbow Bridge Poem. Not only did this mean so much to us but also demonstrated the quality and caliber of the type of company Faithful Companion is. I highly recommend Faithful Companion to anyone wanting something a little special for your beloved pet. Thank you guys for what you do, it means a lot to have this option available to us pet owners.
