I was a frantic bride this time last year, searching for a church that would allow me to bring in my own officiant (it was a deal breaker for me if I couldn't use my pastor, whom I had grown up with and was a close family friend almost all my life) when I found FUMC. I sent them a desperate email with little hope of a positive reply to my request, and lo and behold, they were more than glad to accommodate me! Bringing in my own officiant was not a problem, and neither was utilizing the fellowship hall space in the basement for the reception. The ceremony took place in the sanctuary which seats up to 300 people and was gorgeous for wedding photos. Mrs. Karen W was a huge help in making sure my wedding day went to plan and kept everyone on target. I brought in my own DJ, catering service, and photographer in addition to my own officiant, without any trouble at all. If you are a bride looking for a place to have a wedding in the NOVA area, I would highly recommend FUMC hands down. It was very affordable too, a fair price indeed! It was perfect for me, a gift from God, truly. Melissa in the office and Pastor Devon are both lovely people who helped me a great deal, too. Honestly it is a rare occurrence to find such kindness, understanding, and warmth when dealing with venues. It was such a wonderful experience having FUMC be part of my team, and my wedding day turned out so beautifully and well organized with their help! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. It was a honor to work with them.

A church open to everyone and embracing everyone as beloved children of God. Strong youth program. Strong outreach to those in need.

Attended the Sing-Along Messiah here. It was free, but I would gladly have paid because the church sanctuary was such a beautiful setting for Handel's music, and the event was so well-managed. Parking is free, too.
