Great location for me. Great staff, spotless rooms.
Very impressed by this hotel. Walking distance to Old Salem. They have an adjacent parking garage. Rooms are super clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast, which is included. Will definitely recommend.
This place is horrible. The restaurant is hardly ever open for dinner, and you can hear management screaming at employees in the background. If I am going to pay 130 a night, it will be to a place where I do not have to leave in search of a meal after a long day's work and get a good night's sleep in peace. All in all, management needs to clean up their act. Bottom line, if you need a great hotel downtown, choose the Marriott on Cherry Street - much, much nicer
The hotel is very nice and the staff are warm and welcoming. 5 stars when their fire alarm system issues are resolved and doesn't slam dance all their guests out of bed in the middle of the night. It happened this stay and it happened the last time I stayed too. This was a working trip and after the alarm went off, I was unable to go back to sleep, so I was exhausted all day. At least one of my coworkers was in the same condition after the scare.
Overall apearance and cleanliness was subpar. Bar service was a lot to be desired. Air conditioner was too noisy and we woke up every time it turned on during the night.
This hotel is very clean! All of the hotel staff are very professional, hospitable and helpful. All of the employees are as well. We have family in Winston-Salem and this is our "go to" hotel when we come visit. It's conveniently located and easy access to freeway.
Great location on the edge of downtown. Room had 2 tvs and a spacious bathroom. Note: Parking can be a bit of a hassle, but that's standard with downtown winston...
Location is a little out of the foot print the downtown area. Room was clean and staff were very helpful.
Explained to house keeping room wouldn't need cleaning but clean towels and removing trash would be great. Towels were not swapped and trash wasn't removed. Ice machine didn't work. Loaded frig with snacks, drinks and leftovers. Second day waited on house keeping to get towels and get rid of trash. Found out frig wasn't working. Leftovers wasted and put into trash. Many options for breakfast, but fruit was terrible. Ice machine still not working. Ice machine still wasn't working at checkout.
Had a great stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, hotel is very clean, and just off the highway to make it easy for an overnight stay over. I will plan on staying here again if I take another trip to the Biltmore. I will also recommend this hotel to anyone who asks. Thank you to the staff!
Fresh, clean, and new. But parking across the street is a hassle
Reasonably priced clean and staff attentive and friendly. Nice little bar in the evening.
Beds comfortable, night shift and day shift staff very helpful. Breakfast outstanding.
Good people hear my niece's car broke down and they let me fix it in their parking lot
The staff at this facility was first class, accommodations were acceptable , bar and after hours service needs improvement and/or adjustment.
Pros: The room is clean, the breakfast is good, and the staff is pleasant.
Cons: The bed is extremely soft and uncomfortable, the pillows are terrible, the smoke alarm has gone off at 11:30 at night for two nights in a row and has dragged us skit of bed to the lobby. All in all....I can t highly recommend this hotel.
If you are looking for a clean hotel and excellent downtown location, then this place is great for that.
Great staff, good breakfast, great location, needs more parking
Pleasant stop for the evening. Super staff. Good night's rest!
Outstanding standing hotel and the staff was very efficient and professional, I well make this my go to hotel whenever I visit Winston Salem.
Nice and clean. The room was well attended to. FYI this place has a no chl policy posted at the main entrance.
Budget friendly hotel located in downtown Winston-Salem. Walking distance to all the restaurants and interesting places in downtown. Hotel provides free breakfast which is great. Staff is very helpful and courteous.
Great service, clean rooms and walking distance from shops and restaurants while being on the quiet side of the city. Food and drinks were good as well.
the parking is messed up bc of road work. we just got here so not sure about threst yet
Good location in downtown Winston-Salem. Better than average breakfast offering and cool retro lobby which is clean and open. Room is good with descent space but did smell musty so carpet needs serious cleaning or replacement. Parking a bit of a pain since you need to walk across the street to a parking garage.
Nice and clean room, very well decorated and nice people.
Really nice and modern rooms. Awesome staff, very helpful and friendly. Parking is across the street so just check in and drop-off bags first.
Family Reunion Host Hotel! Perfect place. Lobby area and the bar area was the HOT SPOT. Steve rocked the bar. Rooms were cozy and clean. Staff treated us just like family. Out door patio under the stars was another HOT spot for some family members. We ENJOYED our Reunion stay!
Nice location, comfortable rooms, and fair rates. Good overall experience.
Marginal even for Fairfield. AC smelled musty and was dirty. Can barely hang two suits in the closets.
The hotel was nice and met our needs, however the I40BR work was noisy and made travel difficult.
Nice accommodations right off the freeway in downtown Winston Salem, NC. Good for a last minute booking and reasonable rates. It is a bit of a walk to get to the highlights of the downtown area, but doable on a nice day. Breakfast is complimentary and decent, the rooms are very nice and ours even includes 2 televisions, a couch, and a wonderful bathroom. Definitely would stay here again.
The staff are super friendly. Their bar and drink menu is great. The Food and Beverage Chef was very nice and welcoming. Hotel very clean. Bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Great hotel!!
Second Marriott in 2 days this Marriott was nice but wasn't as nice as the first one that we stayed in Lynchburg. The staff could not find our reservation what was helpful and getting us booked in and giving us ideas for food. But what you need to check before hand is to make sure there's not a professional biking race going on inside the city because all of the roads were blocked
Clean room other than the half dead cockroach in the middle of the floor of my room! That put a damper on the whole experience. Not worth $169/night. Complimentary breakfast was good!
Clean and professional. Work out room, restaurant and bar on first level.
This was a good hotel for the evening. The bedrooms were clean and tidy. The check in an out was easy. The only things that caught my attention were the small amount of toiletries in the bathroom, check out was automatic and my friend and I were not able to split the bill, and the toilet seat was a bit wobbly.
Overall this is a fine hotel to stay the night and was very comfortable.
We did like the location but that was about it. I do NOT recommend staying here. We drove 7 hours from out of town and arrived at the 3 p.m. (check in time). We were told our room was not ready and made to sit in the lobby for a full hour. They did NOT offer another room or any type of compensation for the inconvience. We have two small children and one of the two was ill. It is unacceptable that we had to wait over an hour for a room that was supposed to be ready at 3, not past 4. I am sure they would charge you if you stayed in the room an hour past checkout, so why would they check us in an hour after check in time and not provide anything more then a sorry.....this was not acceptable. We spoke with the manager and emailed Marriott with no response. Stay somewhere else.....
Though I didn't get much time to enjoy the room it was clean, nice, a fairly comfortable bed (might also have been how tired I was) and good service. Overall great stay and whenever the next time is that I am out this way I will stay again.
The stay was okay. Front desk people were very friendly. Clear that whoever cleaned our room kinda slacked off a little(bathroom wise) but everything else was fine. But other than that my stay was okay.
Walking distance to great bars and restaurants! I had Pappy Van Winkle at Tates down town
The front desk staff is exceptional my stay here during this pandemic has shown me what we are made of the staff at this hotel have exceeded my expectations. Bravo to the staff at Fairfield Inn Marriott
The staff is very attentive. Quiet downtown location.
Great atmosphere, tasty continental breakfast and accommodating staff.
Rooms were clean and roomy. The front desk and bar staff were fantastic. Great food at the bar. Walking distance to many eateries as well.
Musty, humid rooms. Changed rooms. Looked at 4 other rooms before we could find one that wasn't worse than wh6we originally had. The admitted there is an air conditioning problem with the individual room units. Here for college weekend so a other hotels sold out.
Not a good place to workand needs to be updated. Carpet filthy doesn't gets vaccum etc. The smell of mold is overwhelming.
Nice hotel with comfortable rooms and beds. Very friendly staff.
Stay was quiet and comfortable. Convenient to downtown, Hwy 421, Old Salem, etc. Stayed here twice and no complaints from me.
Rooms are comfy and location is really close to downtown digs. Highly recommend it.
It's a nice, clean hotel. The lobby has a breakfast area, commissary and, best of all, a bar! The drinks are a little pricey, but equivalent to that of most hotels.
The staff are really friendly and positive. They made my check-in and stay very pleasant.
Take heed when using the toilet. It requires you to hold the handle down for a few seconds, otherwise it will not flush completely. If you don't pay attention, you might just find yourself leaving yourself a present to discover when you return from dinner. Kind of like putting something in the crockpot all day and returning home to a finished roast. Only, it's not a roast and you won't like the smell and definitely will not eat it. Not that I did that or anything, just a hypothetical.
Great service and price, Paul was extremely helpful and friendly!!
Hotel is nice, but you have to park in the garage up the hill and walk in the rain back down to the hotel.
Jamie was fabulous, so was Penny (made our room look spectacular) and the m&m cookies in the lobby were a great touch!
Great customer service very clean and great location.... The bed was very comfortable too.....
Nice large clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff.
I had 2 reservations here that were cancelled without my knowledge. What's even worse is the fact that i was not even notified prior to arrival that my reservations were cancelled. I arrive only to find that i cannot check in because my reservations had been cancelled by the manager. Once i arrived i was not even given a reason as to why my reservations were cancelled. I wasn't given a reason as to why i was not notified by phone or email that my reservations were cancelled. This was an extreme inconvenience to myself and my family after driving 5 hours and not being able to check in. The manager Laura was VERY VERY RUDE! She was very unprofessional. She lied to me when i asked her why my reservations were cancelled and once i left the property, i called to have a conversation with here and she continued to be quite rude and unprofessional, then she hangs the phone up on me. When i called back, one of the front desk associates answered and when i asked to speak with Laura i heard her in the background tell the associate to hang up. So ultimately my family and i had to find other accommodations, which was very frustrating and those accommodations were located very far away from where we needed to be during this particular trip.
Hotel room was nice a clean. Staff was nice. Breakfast bar had a great selection.
A bit dated but clean and has a very friendly staff.
We never stayed here...because of the interaction with the front desk when I called to inquire about parking. The answer to my question was "TEN DOLLARS DAILY! TEN DOLLARS DAILY!". When I asked if it was for a 24 hour period, the answer was "TEN DOLLARS DAILY! TEN DOLLARS DAILY!! I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH MORE CLEARLY i CAN SAY IT!!" So...the next question was, "If we check in on Friday...do I pay for Friday....and then pay again for Saturday when we check out?"....that was when the front desk hung up on me. I've never experienced that before....and I hope to never experience it again. I won't call the Fairfield Inn in Winston-Salem again....so I hope to avoid it. WHAT A WEIRD INTERACTION!
Nice place friendly staff great water pressure would stay again
My girlfriend and I recently used the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Winston Salem as a stopping point for our 19 hour drive. Because of inclement weather we made the reservation on short notice and this didn't cause any problems. The desk staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean. There was free WiFi, and breakfast in the morning, including coffee in the room. We were here for only a few short hours, but had absolutely no problems. TV worked, secure parking was right next door, and the bed was comfortable. Based on my short stay, I was pleased with the staff and facilities here.
Feont desk was very helpful and the rooms were comfortable.
