A beautiful and fascinating museum. Do a little reading beforehand about the history of the famed Faberge Eggs, as they really are the highlight here. The intricacy, level of detail, and precise mechanics of these eggs and the small toys they sometimes contained cannot be expressed adequately in words. Simply stunning. Better still, the descriptions all contain English!
It is located in the Shuvalov Palace and presents the works of the great master of jewelry art, as well as objects of applied art from the turn of the 19th-20th century, paintings and much more. The museum was created by the Foundation "Link of Times" by Viktor Vekselberg, which has long nurtured the idea of creating a full-fledged center preserving the cultural heritage of Russia, and has been selecting exhibits for many years. The most famous items of the museum are the collection of 9 Faberge eggs, which Vekselberg bought in 2004 from newspaper magnate Malcolm Forbes. He bought it in bulk - even before the opening of the auction, thus providing himself with an advantage and paying $ 100 million. Subsequently, he replenished the collection with an egg-shaped King George I bonbonniere and the Safra collection set. The exposition of the museum, the largest private collection of Russian applied art of the XIX-XX centuries, contains more than 4,000 items. Its central part is reserved for the demonstration of the products of the famous court jewelry company. Vakselberg has assembled the second largest collection of Faberge gift eggs (there are 10 in the collection of the Moscow Kremlin). In the exposition you can see the very first egg - "Hen", made by the master in 1885. The guests will see canvases by Russian and European artists - Renoir and Korovin, Bryullov and Semiradsky. The Shuvalov Palace was handed over to the foundation in mid-2000 in a dilapidated state. The best craftsmen were involved in its restoration, and the building came to life again, acquiring a luxurious appearance. The cost of the restoration work amounted to about 1 billion 200 million rubles. The opening of the museum after renovation has become a grandiose event in the cultural life of the country. The interiors of the palace, combined with jewelry and art objects, present a decent picture of the genius of Russian masters. In addition to exhibitions, the museum hosts musical and creative evenings, scientific conferences. The concept of the cultural and historical fund is the return to Russia of the historical and artistic values of the nation.
Here you can clearly feel the former greatness of the Russian Empire. It is sad that the world-famous suffered a sad fate. A hundred years ago, Faberge was quoted on an equal footing, or perhaps higher than the famous Cartier.
Nice place. Thought there were more faberge eggs. But astonished what this guy did in total
"The Faberge Museum is a private museum in St. Petersburg, located in the courtyard of the Naryshkin-Shuvalovs and has an unparalleled collection of Russian jewelry and decorative and applied arts of the 19th and 20th centuries."
When buying a ticket, you can additionally purchase an audio guide, but we decided to walk without it. Each exhibition sample is numbered, at the entrance it is possible to take a book for free in which the names of all the exhibits are indicated. The book, of course, must then be put in place :) We almost accidentally did not take it with us, so much were impressed by what we saw that we forgot about everything :)
The magnificent palace. Magnificent works of art. They must be seen. Frography can not convey all the beauty !!!
It was fantastic being able to see the famous eggs up close. I had my nose pressed up against the glass enclosure, as I didn't want to miss a single detail !
I'd recommend getting the audio guide, as it explains the design of each egg, when it was produced, why it was produced & the little surprise inside the egg....
Great experience. Don't miss it !
Entrance fee is 500 rubles & another 250 rubles for the audio guide (a deposit of 500 rubles is required).
A beautiful museum, very informative. You can usefully spend time.
Beautiful, but they give it a lot of importance and it's not that big.
An interesting and informative place. There is something to see
A superb collection, including both faberge and non faberge pieces. There is so much more than the famous eggs!!

I love all. The building, the rooms, the floors, the lamps and, of course, the exhibition. Everything seemed fantastic. I was amazed. It's not very big, but I think it's better, so I can appreciate in detail and in detail the entire Museum. I went in the afternoon and there were not many people and above all there were no groups.
Small museum but with a lot of content. We were surprised that for such a low price it offers so many different objects, precious rooms, faberge eggs, luxury everyday objects, vases, crockery ...
A very interesting museum. Stunning exhibits. But you definitely need to take a paid audio guide, or download it to your smartphone for a fee of 250 rubles. There are no signatures under the exhibits.
You can visit a small museum fast, 450 rubles adult entrance.Faberge eggs do not have much chance to see the museum .. Other jewelery and palace items are also on display. There are also some works of art. Being close to Nevsky Prospekt makes it easy to gwzilmesi.
The museum building is a masterpiece. But do not expect Faberge masterpieces in every room. There are actually not very many of them here, they all fit in one room. You also need to see several paintings by Aivazovsky in one of the halls.
Was in the museum on 5.01.18 at the exhibition of Modigliani, Soutine and others. This was my first visit to the museum. However, this is not the first attempt to get to the exhibition. The first was unsuccessful, because, even when approaching the museum, I saw a huge queue of people who were like me. I decided not to waste time and book a ticket in advance on the museum s official website. It is very comfortable! You can even enter the building through a cafe (an additional entrance for visitors with online tickets). Inside is very very beautiful! On the ground floor there are cash desks, wardrobes and a shop. Exhibition halls are located on the second floor. Entrance to the second floor is from the main staircase. In the wardrobe, do not forget to put on shoe covers, otherwise they will not be allowed. The illumination of the paintings was not very well arranged at the exhibition itself: somewhere, good lighting, and somewhere dark. But overall I really liked it. I plan to visit the main exposition.
Went to the exhibition of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
They did not get to the main exhibition, but saw it out of the corner of the eye. Very beautiful.
Modern access system, polite staff. By European nice place. After visiting the expositions, you can have a tasty and inexpensive snack in the cafe-restaurant.
Will need to come here with the children.
Excellent display, well set out with self guide books available.
Cafe very pleasant. Good menu and service.
Exciting from start to finish.
Audio guide to take absolutely to enjoy the richness of the museum.

Beautiful. The largest collection of imperial Eggs you could see. Beautiful pieces with stunning details
Beautiful collection. Highlighting the lighting of the fours
Quite an interesting place. But the painfully high price is 400 rubles
Awesome. Interesting. Touching history. Be sure to visit !!!!
A small museum with chic exhibits. In addition to Faberge eggs, all kinds of silver, malachite, enamel works are presented. Audioguides for hire.
The museum is fascinating. A huge collection of jewelry.
If you like colorful eggs it is definitely worth a visit.

Small and collected but if you have an hour or so of free time it is definitely worth spending it here!
Jewels, decorated eggs and porcelain to make your head spin.
Possibility of audio guide.
Interesting collection. If you do not take a tour, be sure to take an audio guide!
Very nice and interesting museum, I recommend it a lot.

Great collection of Faberge goldsmith's art.
The precious eggs in gold, enamels and stones made for the Tsar of Russia are very famous.
If you go take a ticket with a guide, Maria, it is very interesting to lead a tour, after the end you can get acquainted yourself with all the exhibits. You can take pictures without flash
Make sure you visit, there are some. Beautiful peices on display
An incredible amount of exquisite art objects. The Armory Chamber in Moscow faded in my eyes. Recommend!
It was a rainy evening: warm, cozy, beautiful. Unfortunately, I do not understand art and jewelry, but I got aesthetic pleasure. I recommend to visit.
Beautiful ... interesting .... not to be missed ... I don't want to say more ... you must see for yourself
A unique, beautiful, valuable museum!
The organization for selling tickets at a good level. There is a cafe with cheerful waiters who KNOW English (this is a real plus). Shop, at the exit, with a large assortment. The quality of work is excellent! Therefore, it is more expensive than in other places.
Very beautiful and informative museum. I enjoyed it a lot.
To say that my daughter (13y.o.) inspired by the exhibition Viva la diva (Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera) -Do not skazat.Ekspozitsiya consists of several schalov where you can trace the parallel chronology of the life path of Diego and Frida photo description, see full of pain and revenge paintings by artists, see personal things, installations and film. Perfect.
Magnificent collection. Wonderful place. To do very pleasant and interesting.
Amazing museum, very well organized, not that big, and definitely interesting pieces of production, recommend for a visit if you are a tourist and have some spare time.

I advise you to visit, it is better with a guided tour - interesting comments.
Fine works of jewelers and craftsmen in wood, metal, ceramics and many others. They are surprised by their skill, taste, simple original solutions that transform ordinary things into priceless works of art.
The price is too high for 100-200 rubles, who expects to see a large number of all kinds of carved eggs will be very disappointed, the collection is rather scarce, apparently the best in private hands. But a lot of other utensils produced by Faberge factories at different times. In general, it would be nice if it were not for the cost of tickets.
The museum is located in the center of St. Petersburg in a beautiful, restored palace. A large collection of products by Russian jewelers of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The basis of the exposition is the famous Faberge Easter eggs. I liked the small collection of paintings, consisting of works by Aivazovsky, Renoir, Korovin, Palenov.
A must see when visiting St Petersburg. Such beautiful craftsmanship and such a big display.
Were at the exhibition of Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera "Viva LA Vida". Very interesting. It is possible to take an audio guide or go through the whole museum with a guided tour. Every time we open something new here.
A very beautiful place. Although once worth a visit there.
What an awesome Museum!!
Not to be missed if you are in St Petersburg. Not very far from the Hop On Hop Off bus stop in fact a very interesting walk!!! Leave yourself a good 2-3-4 hours to do justice to the museum (and the gift shop!)
At the end of it we were quite exhausted - we just couldn't take in any more beauty!!
Amazing displays of exquisite artwork in metal and Ceramics. Well worth the entry charge which is even cheaper if you have the Saint Petersburg card.
My poor IPhone images don't go anywhere near representing the beauty of each object: exquisite in every detail and a testament to the attention to detail, workmanship, intricate & superb craftsmanship strikingly apparent in each and every precious piece.
Don't miss it and don't be rushed!!
An excellent museum with royal trinkets and all shaggy utensils. The halls look gorgeous. Faberge factory products look much better live than on the screen.
A very cool museum, in which, in addition to the well-known eggs, there are many decorative objects produced by Faberge: both the usual dishes and decorations, and devices that are exotic for a modern person, such as a stamp box, a match box and much more. As a bonus, there are beautiful interiors (after all, a museum in the palace) and a number of paintings (even, unexpectedly, Aivazovsky). I advise you to take an audio guide to better understand what is happening - the explanations were stingy on the signature. There are also paper catalogs with explanations on the counters in the halls.
This was a beautiful museum. Individual tours are held between 6:00PM and 8:45PM. Reservations are needed for groups of 15 or more. There was one English tour available during mid day when we went on a Monday and there maybe more English guided tours during the weekends. We rented an audio guide in English like most russian museums to tell you more about the pieces in exihibit. There are nine easter imperial eggs on exhibit here, the only other museum in the world with more eggs is the moscow armory.
Great small private museum. I would love to find the goose that laid these beautiful eggs.
One of most popular St.Petersburg museums. Situated inside Shuvalov palace if i'm not mistaken. Possible to see unique Faberge egg collection. Also there are small exposition of pictures of the famous painters like Renuar and Aivazovsky. Also exlosition consist of different vintage pieces of art. And museum is quite small and not so heaby like Ermitage.
One of the most beautiful museums in St. Petersburg. Small but very nice. Closes at nine in the evening. There are audio guides in all the main languages. Even if I am not a lover of jewelry I recommend the visit to explore the stories underlying each object
On the afternoon of March 8, when an incredible influx of visitors runs one (!) Ticket office. Well done! A trip to the Dali exhibition left a residue.
A wonderful collection of beautiful things. The museum is located in the palace of Naryshkin, which was renamed Shuvalovsky. After the marriage of Naryshkina with Shuvalov. Beauty. The originals of the most beautiful paintings of the world level.
Lovely palace and the Faberge eggs are amazing and so intricate
Outstanding Faberge collection, including many Easter eggs, situated in a beautifully renovated palace.
This one was rather meh... I would probably skip it if I would go again. It's really all about the eggs which are nice but I wouldn't spend hours looking at them.
I think a very interesting but seen museum
unfortunately only on the fly.
