Great educational place to go

Great educational place to go
For all ages. Right on the waterfront. Healthy food choices provided in the restaurant.

They have science I can play with. What else is there to say? Go to After Dark on Thursday nights if you're 21+ and don't mind being around a bunch of drunk adults acting like children (it's hilarious to watch).

We only saw it from the outside, the museum is a little expensive but if we had had more time it would have been visited. Outside there are several experiments you can do or watch for free. I really liked it! Especially the mist experiment ...!

This place is something a bit different, a science museum where every single exhibit is interactive, and it's great fun. Yes there are lots of children around, but even packed I don't recall having to wait very long to try out anything because there's always something else that catches your eye. If the kids really bother you, why not go during their 18+ only night? I'll certainly try that next time around.

What impressed me most was the detail in which the actual science behind the fun toys was explored. For example,a pendulum exhibit explained the actual mathematical equations that describe the motion of pendulums, and a biology exhibit went through the chemical equations behind animal respiration. It was a step beyond that they probably didn't need to go to, but I appreciated it.

One piece of advice - bring some hand sanitiser. If I didn't already have a cold when I visited, I'm almost certain this place would have given me one.

It s a fun place filled with shenanigans but the price is a bit too high for what it is. I don t think it was worth it but still a cool place to check out. That being said, if you are on a time crunch, skip it.

This was a fun family friendly experience. The exhibits appear to be manufactured onsite at their machine shop. In the hour before the facility closed we weren't able to get to everything in the building, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless. The exhibits are designed to help with critical thinking skills of kids and is a great learning activity.

I practically grew up in the Exploratorium. I didn t realize it when I was 7 years old, but I was already grasping the fundamentals of physics, biology, geology, thermodynamics, and botany. I could solve binary arithmetic problems and explain to my friends why a bicycle stands up. Things like computer programming and physics were a breeze later on in high school.

Although it s no longer donation-only, today s Exploratorium is better than ever. I ve had a family membership for years and bring the family in often. This is one of the best places around to bring kids--they will have fun and can t help but learn along the way. When the new location first opened, I missed the old dark, dank, cavernous feel of the original location, but the location, capacity, and overall atmosphere of the new location seems natural now. The food and waterfront view aren t bad either.

I ve been to hands-on science museums around the world that have followed the Exploratorium s model, but the Exploratorium is the original and still the best.

What an incredible museum. I love hands on museums and learning experiences. We want with our 3 year old and 5 year old. We all had a great time. There are so many exhibits and they are organized in a very natural fashion. It felt like every time we found something cool and fascinating to experiment with, we would look to our left or right and see yet another mind blowing activity to put our brains too. We spent most of the day here, having lunch at the Sea Glass restaurant (which is also amazing, see the photo) and it just wasn't enough. This is a place that earned and deserves multiple trips. I look forward to returning in a couple months.

Great place for kids and adults alike. Dump the screens, use your hands and learn how the world works up close and personal. There is a reason it has been around for more than fifty years... Science is freaking cool! Highly recommend. Really good restaurant onsite as well, organic, sustainable, bar, smoothies, etc.

One of the best museums I've been to, period. Almost every exhibit is interactive, and all of them are fascinating. I gasped, laughed, was shocked, etc multiple times throughout the time I spent there. And it's all science! Make sure to block out several hours, there's a lot to see, and you won't be bored

This place is awesome. Came here when I was in Elementary school and last year for my birthday. I wanted to go back into the dark room. But this is a great place to go and explore with your children or friends. Totally recommend coming here.

Thursday Adults only was SO FUN! You can grab and adult beverage and play with EVERYTHING, I really enjoyed the Black Box exhibit. They have events and conferences that we missed but give yourself at least 2 - 3 hours to see and play with everything. Entry $20 and drinks are $10-15

Are you from Vancouver? Do you miss home? Go to the Exploratorium and you'll find it's just like Science World. There are so many things to do inside, so much to learn that you'll spend the day just running around from exhibit to exhibit having a great time. Fun and friendly staff, very knowledgeable to boot, and always willing to teach you something new. Go there and have a blast, no matter what age you are! They have a treadmill there that you can do an infinite slinky on and that's just fantastic fun! Foodcourt is also pretty good, and the building is massive so you have a lot that you can enjoy before getting even remotely bored.

Family time was wonderful, but running after the kiddos made it hard to see everything in the vast expanse there, so I'd recommend a visit with children and another without. The food was delicious (although a tad expensive for the quality). Admission was a tad pricey but it was a huge place to explore. Many different and interesting things to see and interact with. One center showed themselves upside down in the mirror, one center had a microphone that sounded the opposite of your voice (so if you had a soprano voice, you heard a bass voice), there was a neato (putting it lightly for lack of a better word) clock, a huge color changing slinky looking thingy on the ceiling, and many other things (but I was primarily running after the kiddos.) Definitely a lovely day with the family.

This is amazing. Not only my 7-year-old junior, but also his parents can enjoy exhibits such as this pinscreen. They frequently refresh their exhibits and you'll find new ones every time of your visit. Recommended!

It is a really fun place to go to. I am not the type of girl who is into science but I really like the exploratorium but it haven't changed my mind about science. I went there Tuesday 05/30/17 for a field trip and it was super fun! I'm going there again with my after school program at my school on 05/01/17. I hope you didn't enjoy it as much as I did!

We went for After Dark and got there just as the doors opened. It was fun, but ultimately it was just too crowded, especially as the night wore on. The drinks, while admittedly tasty, were just way too small for the price.
