It was a great place for kids and science enthusiasts. Various hands on experiments and learning experiences. Could spend an entire day if you would see all experiments. The Tinkering studio was the highlight of the tour. Try to go and get tickets early and then watch the rest of places while you wait for your turn. Same goes for drawing station.

The best science museum that I have ever ever visited! No matter u are a beginner in science or a graduate student, u will definitely learn a lot from the experience and what s more important, (re-)gain the enthusiasm for discovery of science! The only thing need to notice is that u should leave more time for this traveling spot. 1 hour is definitely not enough. 2 hours should be fine!

After Dark (Thursday s 6pm-9pm): museum is open for adults only. There are bars set up throughout. The exhibits are fantastic! Drinking isn't required for enjoyment. The hands on demonstrations of scientific principles are meant for kids but are lots of fun for adults too.

I decided to check out the Exploritorium during free Mother's day admission. As a grown adult with no child supervision, I thought I would stroll around just to know if this was a worthy place to recommend to visiting guests with kids. In a matter of seconds I was sucked into all of the amazing science experiments, hands on gadgets, interactive experiences and fun facts. It's got something for every age group and you could get lost in the magic of it all for days. I feel like I left having a great time, learning a lot and seeing some really interesting stuff that made me go 'huh'. I really recommend checking it out!

A great place for kids and mechanically minded adults. Great examples and demonstrations of the quirks and phenomenon of physics. It has a few fame theory experiments too. Well worth spending a few hours here.

Must visit place for Children and Adults as well. Lots and lots of exhibits to try out. Have troublesome toddlers? Leave them home. Had a very bad experience, when I took the decision to take with me my toddler daughter! Dorve me nuts!

This is probably my favorite Science place to go to and I am an adult. We spent all day here and didn't get bored. Just pay attention to if they have school field trips as it can get packed with kids (go early, take an early lunch; should be less busy again).

The dream of consumption of any lover of science, in this place it is possible to interact with various gadgets that explore many concepts of science: colors, lights, shapes, weight, magnetism, pulleys, acceleration, speed, liquids, all thinking about how to show in practice a scientific concept. Ideal for children and teenagers, but also fun for adults.

What a fun way to spend a Thursday evening: Adults only night to run around the exploratorium and explore. Loved all of different interactive exhibits. Tickets for the Tactile Dome is an extra $10 but totally worth it - its definitely an experience and not for ones that are afraid of the dark and/or claustrophobic. You can get through the course in 10-15 minutes. Would also recommend going through the course with a group of 4-5 friends. There is mesh netting to crawl through and slides to go down.. at the very end there's a bean pit for you to land in. Go in with an open mind and just have fun! Adult only nights also mean that alcohol is served, which is always a plus ;)

This place was amazing. First time in SF and we stayed nearly all day here. There are a ton of great activities and exhibits. My favorite part was the "what's happening" cards at all the exhibits, it really provides great context. Beware parking nearby. We parked across the street and almost got stuck there because the attendants leave after 6. If you do park there, be sure to just pay what you think you have to in order to keep your own keys. The museum will stamp your hand for re-entry, so just make sure to have someone in your party go pickup the keys before the attendants close for the day. If you do forget to get your keys before they leave, be sure to call the numbers BEFORE going to the address listed as the keys may not be moved and you'll have to return to the car to pick up your keys anyway.

I went during the adults-only event that happens every Thursday! It was very fun, so many different exhibits to play with, and they're always working on new ones. I could see this being an incredible experience for a kid!

It is by far my FAVORITE science museum! Thursday night special for adults is such a great idea! It was possible to try out all the stations without worring for kids being all over. The museum is like a big playground for geeks with various themes such as nature, micro, human body/perception, physics, etc. (+18 so bars inside the museum was a plus for those hanging out lol). Picture is a living wall of micro mold/bacteria representing what's on Earth.

I've been to a few places like the Exploratorium in my time, but I think this one probably does it best out of all of them.

The place is suited to all ages, and I think most would enjoy the mostly interactive exhibits. There's interesting exhibits and information about a variety of topics, like physics, biology, chemistry and engineering.

I went on one of the "Adults Only" nights, which was great fun considering it's all the same exhibits but with alcohol!

The staff were nice and friendly, however the place was quite busy.

If you're considering going, allow plenty of time to do everything as there can be quite large crowds, especially in the summer time.

Nice

This is a "not to be missed" activity in San Francisco. It helps you and your friends understand their 5+ senses in ways we had never seen before. Plus it's an easy walk down to Fisherman's Wharf for a tasty dinner. Don't miss the Hyde Street Pier with it's tall ships and FREE sea chantey sing-along held on the 1st Saturday of each month at 8 pm to midnight. Just sign in at the gate anytime after 8 pm. Great harmony's and it's lead by a park ranger who helps you learn why certain sea chanteys are sung to different rhythms. Best FREE event in the city!

One of our favorite places in San Francisco - we started visiting when it was at the Palace of Fine Arts and now we bring our grandkids here. This is the best science museum we have ever been to. Nothing we have seen can equal the variety and the energy in this place! We renew our membership each year, and when we are in town, we always find ourselves dropping by to see what is new. The store is great place to pick up kids' gifts. The cafe has a good assortment of reasonably prices foods and drinks.

Had a wonderful time in this beautiful new science museum. The new open warehouse is so spacious, great for events and birthday parties. Also a great date place, because all the inventions are hands-on so it's fun to discover new things together. Check out the maps room, the view of the Bay bridge is so beautiful there, especially at night with a loved one. Enjoy!
