Great place to visit critters that are safe for life.
Great place to visit critters that are safe for life.
Dedicated to humane treatment of their rescues, this facility obviously loves and builds relationships with their cats. Do not miss the Pumpkin Party after Halloween!
This is an interesting place serving a good cause. They rescue big cats from people who can't care for them , some were business that have closed , magic shows, things like that. The tour director was knowledgeable and shared each cats story. They provide a safe environment for them to live out the rest of their lives in nature.
Super place to visit and the people whom live and work there are very nice. Cages are kept clean and the animals look happy. They are always looking for toys to enrich each animal. A not for profit, they could use all the donations you can spare.
The guides were very knowledgeable about each cat's background and habit. Cages looked well maintained and cats look happy.
Our tour guide was very impersonal and even rude !! I took 5 kids some had never been she had no patience for children and ignored the questions they asked about why the tigers didn t have water to drink!! Price was fair but won t go back
An endearing and unique rescue that emphasizes the stupidity of humans as much as the beauty and Majesty of big cats. A magical place everyone should check out
This year was my second time I did the ride and I loved it is a good ride and I love watching the big cats
Very interesting, the cats are beautiful and divas like any domestic cat. There is obvious affection between the guide and the cats. A good, slightly less than an hour tour.
Love their mission and love visiting and seeing the big cats
Amazing tours! Adults $10 and children $5 and it's well worth the money. Very knowledgeable staff
This is a true rescue, great place to go and see big cats. They take really good care of these cats and have rescued them from some really awful situations. Go check it out and help support this place! The tour was really good and inexpensive.
If you like exotic cats such as Tigers and Lions you truly must make the trip. This is not exactly a zoo, it's a rescure center where they take care of animals previously from circus or illegal owners. They request a minimum donation of $10 per adult and $5 per child. The center is supported by larger private donations. It's a no frills place so eat and drink beforehand then be prepared to witness these amazing animals. You will litterally be walking right beside a wire fence with the animals on the opposite side so keep the kids close. With approximately 180 cats you're sure to see a few of each species.
Wonderful experience. The center is very spacious, clean and provides a safe environment for the exotic felines. The animals looked amazingly healthy with beautiful coats. Even the coat of a 23 year old female tiger was shiny and vibrant. The tour guide was extremely informative and dedicated to the future of the felines. She was also very safety conscious and ensured we stayed together and away from the enclosures.
Really cool place to go, A must see at least once. I've been twice, experience varies with your guide, but still awesome experience to be so close to these big cats. Animals send to be well cared for and about. Two thumbs up to these great workers and volunteers.
Genuinely care about their animals & their interactions. Have gone here for years & its good to still get to tour despite covid. IMO this is the time to go & support these guys as there's not many people so the tour is even more personal.
I live love l ou ve this humane animal cat rescue center. A lovely man who rescues these animal from all over the world gave us a tour. Clean and good enclosed areas with plenty of room to roam.
This is one of my favorite places to visit. Don t miss this memory making place to see some amazing felines
It's a great place to walk among these beautiful cats. They are well cared for. One of my favorite places to visit.
Very cool big cat rescue center with beautiful lions, tigers, cougars, bobcats, leopards, and more! Only $10 for an outdoor tour of 50 big cats! The center has about 200 total, all rescued. There's also a gift shop, you can spend the night, and volunteer. Listening to lions roar is an amazing and unique experience!
It was amazing to see all the big cats recognise the guide and chuff and growl their acknowledgement. The cats seem a lot happier than in a zoo. The people at the rescue center genuinely care for these animals. And each cat has his own story.
It was very fun to learn about the animals here, it stunk very bad though.
You get so close to these amazing animals and you learn a lot too. You get to hear each cats story and whqt is being done to help them amd keep them comfortable. It was amazing!
Staff was very knowledgeable about the history of each animal
This place was awesome. It was a long walk for my 5 year old though. We had a knowledgeable tour guide. The animals seemed happy. They do not buy or sell animals but only take ones that need a home. It is sad that so many would try to have these wild pets in captivity. Most of the animals had a sad history with being in enclosure that were dirty or too small causing them health problems and stress before being rescued. As sad as it was to see all these animals in their enclosures, when they belong in the wild, it really seemed like the workers cared for them and like this service is needed for these animals who have been breed in captivity or kept as pets and cannot he released into the wild. It was a cool experience.
Please thumbs up if this post was helpful.
Closest you can get to big cats without being in the cage.
It was awesome seeing the cats and knowing that they are being taken care of. We stayed overnight and had 5 cats right outside our room. And the personal tour that came with the room was fabulous! I highly recommend!
Happy to know that these big cats have a safe environment with handlers that care.
This is a wonderful place for animal lovers. They've done tremendous jobs to rescue abused cats. The big cats are now live in a great environment: lots of spaces and care. Our guide was very nice and informative.
This place is amazing. It seems a little primitive at first, but you will NEVER see more active and mentally healthy big cats in captivity. These cats have all been rescued and saved from bad situations and now have a safe home. They take young and old alike and have SO MANY cats it's unbelievable. The foliage and surrounding make you feel like you're walking in the wild and you will never get this close to animals like this in the zoo. Definitely a cause worthy of the admission price and the staff obviously cares about the animals. Don't wait, make the trip.
For 10 dollars per adult I could not have been more happy! They take you on a tour of the original 25 acres of the owner's 'Joe' property. Telling you stories about each cat and where they came from. They even give you species specific information that I found fascinating! Especially the part about the white tigers, I wont spoil! If you get the chance check this place out! Go after a nice snow fall and the tigers are extra playful!
Fun visit for the kids. The guide was very friendly and pretty knowledgeable.
Interesting place to learn about all different kinds of wild cats. However, the cats don't appear to have large enough spaces to roam. Also, some of the enclosures are rickety. It's only a matter of time before one of those animals escape.
Educational and friendly staff for a wonderfully unique experience!
The care and love given to these animals is truly heartwarming! Thank you for a wonderful tour!!!
They have lots of pretty cats to see, I'm so glad they have such a nice place to go to.
A very worthy cause and worth seeing. Only knock would be 98% of the cats are just one variety, tigers. Was hoping to see more kinds of big cats.
The take very good care of the animals. Nice personal
Great thing they are doing, fun tour. Unprofessional staff. They need a sign saying where you can't go because it was very unclear.
This place was really great! A great experience for me and my 2 nephews. The closest I've ever gotten to a large cat. What an experience. The staff really care about these animals who have come from some bad situations. This is such a great thing. The animals were all healthy and looked good. Thanks for taking care of these magnificent creatures.
You get to see the big cats up close and personal. The tour guide that we had was awesome and very knowledgeable on all the cats.
It was boring and the guides are not people friendly
This is an amazing place! An experience like no other. I highly recommend if your an animal lover!
When my soul needs a refresh, I spend a few hours with the cats. Joe and staff angels on earth.
Great tour for the price, knowledgeable, friendly, patient staff(we had a lot of little ones with us)
This is anamazing place to learn about cat preservation.
Loved it. Exotic cats from being rescued. Hour walk with explanation.
Loved all the cats everyone should give to this it's great what their doing to help these animals.......
This was awesome. They have like over 200 tigers I believe!! The animals here are all rescues and seem to be very healthy and happy!! Can't wait to go again!!
Great place to visit. Lions and tigers were awesome. Love it.
The wild cats are great and the knowledgeable guides are amazing.
An amazing and interesting place. Sad that is has to exist to save them but I m so glad that it does. The tours are informative and you can tell the caretakers genuinely love these animals.
Must visit. Your visit does support the care for the cats.
this is an incredible Rescue of big cats they had so many different kinds I know I drove a long hours to get there but it was truly worth it I would go back again
They are providing a great service and it was so interesting to learn about the cats.
Very educational experience. It's NOT a petting zoo, it's a rescue facility for big cats that are not people pets. They are doing a great job of helping big cats live out their lives in a good place.
Tour guide was very rude. My cousin, her boyfriend and I brought the 4 kids we babysit and the tour guide disregarded the kids and yelled at them for trying to look at the cats. She was rude to the kids when they tried to ask a question. She was especially rude to my cousins boyfriend, who is an African American. She was very disrespectful to him and corrected him about the cats pacing back and forth by not having enough room. The cages are very ridgy and poorly kept up and cats in a zoo enclosure have more room than the ones at this rescue. I highly DO NOT recommend going here, only if you want to be treated terribly and not even get to enjoy your experience (that you pay for)
The exotic felines are beautiful and all have a story that very knowledgeable staff shares
Incredible place showcasing beautiful cats that range in size, color and breed! Wonderful learning asset!
This is a very cool place! The way they treat and love all the cars there. They were beautiful and living their best life
Guide was a little rushed this time. I've been here many times and every time brings me back
So many cats! The fee for entry definitely felt worth it, especially knowing how expensive it is to keep the cats.
If you go on a really nice day, it's a lovely little adventure for the kids! Donate and support this amazing place that's doing such a kind thing.
Very cool place. It is nothing like a zoo. It is as natural as possible. These cats were living in horrible conditions until they were rescued. Just hearing what people do to these cats will make your skin crawl. It will make you wonder why humans can be so cruel to animals in the name of entertainment.
Neat place to visit. My wife and I went then 4 weeks later took our children.
Joe Taft is a nice guy, my good friend used to work for him & he will let her walk with us/me & talk to the lover kitties:) I very much enjoy "chuffing" with the tiggers <3:) 1 year I rubbed noses & chuffed with Montana! Unfortunately he's passed now
PLEASE make it out to meet these AMAZING kitties, support the Exotic Feline rescue center!!
Great place to visit to see exotic cats that have been rescued!!!
Very neat place. We got here at the end of the pumpkin party and was able to walk around. The cats were mostly napping due to all the food they ate so we didn't end up doing a tour but next time would like to very much just to learn more about the cats.
Fun way to see big cats up close and they rescue animals that lived in terrible condition allowing them to live out their days outside where cats belong, not being asked to perform. Guide was informed and nice. Beautiful drive through farms to the sanctuary.
This is definitely a hidden must-see destination in Indiana. It's just a little over an hour outside of Indianapolis and is certainly worth the drive. Wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy, especially if there's been recent rain. You get an hour long guided tour that runs at the top of the hour. It's not a ton of walking, and the pace is nice and easy. Strollers are good too, but plan on the wheels getting dirty. You get incredibly close to these "cats", which makes the experience supersede something like a zoo visit. Call ahead and plan to go around eating time. Extra smells (ughhhh) but super cool to see them eat. Each cat's story is amazing and great to learn about. Highly recommend!
Great place to visit. Admission is very reasonable. Learn a lot about the big cats and how they ended up here. Learn how people can be so uneducated and greedy when getting "pets". This is a wonderful place for these beautiful big cats to spend their lives after being rescued from places where they do not belong. They really love their jobs and their mission!!
This place is beyond wonderful! These amazing creatures are so beautiful and majestic to see and hear. I just went there last Sunday for the first time, and I cannot wait to go back! I am hoping to stay at their overnight accommodation so I can just listen to the sounds of these wonderful animals.
The staff are beyond kind and informative about all the different exotic felines there. I cannot thank the volunteers, staff, and everyone else enough who help maintain and rescue these animals all while giving them a sanctuary to enjoy their lives. Thank you for helping these beautiful fur-babies while educating the public how these animals should never be kept as pets but be respected for the wild and beautiful animals they are. The world could use more kindness, and your organization is leading example of such wonderfulness. Thank you!
If you are even remotely near here, I recommend a visit. The tour was excellent and you can tell all of the workers and volunteers really care about the cats.
The guided tours make your visit super informative and personal. You get really up close with dozens of beautiful big cats. All for only a $10 donation. They do great work day in and day out rescuing and caring for almost 200 tigers, lions, and other exotic felines. Go see for yourself!
The guides were very knowledgeable about each cat's background and habit. Cages looked well maintained and cats look happy.
