Great time with my daughter. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone there that I've encountered also seems to seriously love their job/ volunteer work.
Wonderful place! The cats are well cared for and the tour is well worth the $10
Visited with my father & grandchildren. We had a great time. Our guide was friendly and informative and the tour and souvenirs were affordable.
I initially judged this place by its cover - coming from a suburban environment, I was pretty sure we were going to die out here But when we met the people, we definitely relaxed. This was one of the most memorable experiences we've ever had on a road trip. Our tour guide was an older woman who knew every single cat's story and all the cats absolutely loved her. We got up close and personal with many of them and it was just unbelievably magical. As soon as I got home, I changed my Amazon Smile to support them. We'll be coming back down here someday.
My family & I have visited the Exotic Feline Rescue Center about 4 times over the past few years & we've definitely enjoyed every visit! Each visit is personalized & I learn something new each time! We love it!!!
Educational and friendly staff for a wonderfully unique experience!
This place is a great spot to checkout within quick driving distance of Indy. The kids will love it and these people are put good back into the world!
Loved our tour guide Tori. You can tell she really connects with these animals and loves the work done here. This is an amazing experience and reminder not only of the carelessness of people but the caring nature of people. Loved hearing about the stories of each cat as well as how they work to give them the best possible life. Would love to return for thier fall pumpkin event.
Staff was very knowledgeable about the history of each animal
They are doing selfless service towards the big cats by caring for them.
Neat place for the unfortunately captured and neglected! They're doing their best to provide a home.
Great place to get outside, get educated, and see some neat beasts. It is not a zoo, and the cats have an appropriate amount of space to live and are well cared for. The care takers and volunteers know the animals well and understand their tendencies. The cats are not domesticated in any way, but it is a safe environment. Wear appropriate footwear, as it may be muddy.
It was truly fantastic! The people and animals were great! I would highly recommend to anyone considering! It was so cool. Make a trip and go. So worth it!
I have been a few times and it is always humbling experience being that close to the enormous cats. If your fortunate enough to be on a tour while they roar its awesome. The work they do here is wonderful when they talk about rescuing the cars the really do save there lives and then any Veterinary treatment that they need is taken care of also.
The closest you can get to big cats. Worth a visit.
This is a really cool place to go! Everyone there was very friendly, and they were more than happy to answer any questions about the cats. They all are very dedicated to these animals and it shows! Would highly recommend as a great experience for adults and kids.
This is a fabulous place. Small but an up close look at Tigers and lions among others. Sort of off the beaten path but WELL WORTH it!!
Fun and interesting tour, never knew lions made so many different sounds.
FANTASTIC.
They can accommodate disability on this guided walking tour, from what I experienced! I have multiple sclerosis and a lot of walking breaks me down quickly, so I asked if they had a golf cart available or would I have to walk... If you call ahead and let them know you have a disability, I imagine they're happy to accommodate if their 1 golf cart is available (can hold 3 passengers). I lucked out that it wasn't already being used when we arrived. :)
Wonderful explanations and stories about how they acquired the cats! Many of the cats were lounging & napping, but a few were particularly friendly or playful. The tour guide was very friendly and patient. Because the cats all operate at different energy levels, I would definitely go back, because the experience would be different every time!
This staff is incredible and willing to answer any questions!
I love that there is a place for wild cats to go for life.
Top notch staff really care! Cats have found a good home finally.
The guide was so awesome and had so much fun seeing the exotic gals!
Booked the overnight stay as a birthday gift to my SO and we had a blast and really enjoyed the animals we toured the property twice. The first was when we first arrived and in the public group, we got info on a large number of animals most had been rescued from bad conditions and nursed back to health by the efrc staff and many have unique traits/scars to talk about and tell their stories which the staff shares while making sure you dont get to close because some areas of the tour put you and animals within touching distance.
The second tour was the next morning where we got to follow a keeper around the secondary area where those close interactions are even more noticable and you have to dodge the cats trying to mark their territory. The cats in this area were generally in better condition when rescued so the stories arent as engaging but you get the chance to really pick the brain of the keeper and ask those harder questions. Plus you will see more of the behind the scenes action of feedings and other things needed to really take care of so many big animals.
The best part is the time you get to spend in you own private access area where at the time 4 enclosures housed 5 cats that you can watch and talk to some of them respond like house cats others just like the wild animals you would expect. We enjoyed sitting in the chairs and listening to the wild sounds rumble around the entire property until about 11pm and turned in for the night. The room is comfy and is part of the directors home so you arent ever really alone to try anything stupid like reaching into a cage although i did run back and forth playing hide and seek with the tiger and i believe i was always the prey.
A great overnight date for the price if you have an SO that loves animals and a great learning opportunity for a single day trip with the kids.
We stayed overnight, and had a really good time. It is an amazing experience, and it was awesome to sleep so close to the big cats! The tour guides are great. We can tell how much these people care for the animals. My favorite part is hearing the lions roaring to each other. It echoes all across the center. We will be coming back.
I ve been coming here since I was a child and the place has grown immensely. You can see the level of care these kitties are provided and the staff is always so knowledgeable. Great family event and is well worth the trip.
We had a great day here. We loved seeing all of the felines!
All the volunteers are nice and the cats ( exotic felines) are well taken care of and adorable, they even have a baby tiger. Also when they give you a tour and tell you alot of facts about the cats.
It was a nice break from the ordinary. Lots of cool animals, lions, tigers, bobcats, jaguars and more. The animals appear to be well taken care of, and the guides were friendly.
You. Should. Go! All of these cats have been rescued some from horrible conditions. Their home is so nice. They are so well taken care of. You can get up close and personal with them. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
An amazing place that takes in exotic felines. The staff is knowledgeable and great at telling the back stories along with providing education on the animals. Love what they do!!!
So much fun! All the volunteers and workers really enjoy their work helping these cats. Can't wait to go back.
What a wonderful service this place provides. Rescuing huge cats (of all sizes!) from horrible and/or unfavorable conditions. Thank you!!
Awesome! This place is a great way to get really up close and personal with many different kinds of wild cats, including tigers, lions, servals, and many others. The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the animals and on multiple occasions were able to get cats to come over to us. It's pretty muddy but that is easily dealt with. The guide said the tour shows about 50 of the 175 cats currently on exhibit. (This number is subject to change and is accurate as of 24/3/19)
They have tigers and lions close enough to touch through a fence (DO NOT DO SO) It is the closest I have ever been to a animal that size that wasn't from a farm. It is clear they really do love the cats, the tour guide I went with knew all the details of the dozen or more big cats. I will come back when it's warmer.
Very interesting and quite sad listening to the circumstances of how the felines were brought to the rescue. Our guide had only been there 2 months and she was so informative. We definitely left with a greater awareness of the plight of these beautiful animals and what a seemingly good job the rescue is doing to give these animals the best life they possibly can under the circumstances.
Never have you ever been able to get as close to any of these magnificent animals as you do here. Obviously the people here care about the animals and their care.
We are going back every 6 months.
Loved it.
Awesome place! Educating the public while preserving and rescuing big cat breeds. Knowledgeable tour guides, lots of cats and fun all around. Cheaper than any zoo you'll ever go to as well. $10 for adults and $5 for children. Cool little gift shop as well. Can't recommend this place enough.
My boyfriend and I spent the night here and had a wonderful time. The room was cozy, and right outside of our window was a white tiger, a bobcat, a black panther, and a cougar. A black longhaired housecat spent the night in our room and cuddled and talked with us (a Meowcierge, if you will) and he brought us a mouse on the porch in the morning. So cute. The next morning we were taken on an extended tour, and got to see the kitties not on the regular tour. We also got to see the barn where they process the 3000 pounds of cattle and deer they feed everyday. I enjoyed hearing their stories, the chuffing and happy tigers, and the roar of the lions. The cougars were my favorite, with their big purrs.
My kids loved this place! Can get up close with the cats.
Great place to visit and help them support the animals.
THE MOST AMAZING, WONDERFUL, DELIGHTFUL "hidden-in-plaine-sight-secret" of INDIANA....You WILL NEVER,EVER get a chance to be as close to a tiger as you are at Exotic Feline!!!! I LOVE EFRC!!!!!!!!!
Everyone should come the big cats. Experience the power of them and the love they have for their handlers
If u love big cats this is the place for you! The tour last about an hour and it goes by so fast. Every big cat has a story and personality to go with it. Bring your camera and your love. It's well worth it.
Love this place, the owner Joe is the nicest man ever. The staff is pretty cool and very knowledgeable
Great place to visit we went on a Sunday and was late so we called and a worker said to come on over he ended up being the owner Joe it was cool to hear how he started the rescue and a really good guide we have been there several times this was the best thank you Joe we will be back to spend the night be sure to rev your Harley up the cat's go crazy!
Judy gave us a very informative tour. Totally worth the stop.
Awesome. Get to watch the big cats up close & personal!
Very good place to go and get a tour of these exotic felines. Better than driving an hour to the closest zoo.
Great tour. The guide gave us lots of detail about the cats. EFRC takes very good care of the animals.
So neat! Each cat has their own personal story which is neat to hear about.
Some amazing animals, rescued and taken care of in an amazing compound.
Great place to see exotic cats up close and also to learn about the exotic pet problem
Caretakers actually love and respect these animals. Guide was very informative. Will stop again in future.
This place is truly a hidden gem in Indiana. I had one of the volunteers come into my work wearing the shirt and handing out fliers and showing off pictures of all the animals. He seemed to love it so much I had to go that day. After seeing it for myself it really is a one of a kind amazing place to visit. Being able to get within feet of these animals is an experience few will ever get to experience. They are very knowledgeable about all the animals you can and can't see and all of the works seem to enjoy their rolls they help with at the EFRC. I definitely recommend stopping by for a tour and seeing all the incredible animals.
Super friendly staff, and tour guide that answered many questions. Very knowledgeable on animals care and personality!
The staff are wonderful and it's very educational for all ages !
A hundred and fifty big cats in Indiana? I love big cats and I love the people who take care of these cats and who run the EFRC. Definitely worth an Indiana, Kentucky or Illinois day trip. You can schedule an overnight stay if you are travelling from further away or just want a more personal experience. If you visit for an Evening Roar, I'm your bartender. Cheers!!
They seem to have their own agenda and hate everybody else that has anything to do with big cats
Wonderful. Tour was fascinating, and it's all for a good cause.
Very informative. These folks supply a good service. This is a must do
Place is amazing. And a little nerving walking through the place knowing these cats would eat you. Ha Ha place is inspiring
Have a great reason for being and that are doing a task that has two sides but in the end they are making the world better
Love this place and what they are doing for the cats.
Love the closeness and the back stories of the cats.
They give the big cats a great life until the end. The volunteers are passionate about taking care of the animals and educating the public about rescuing and preservation of wildlife. Such a cool place!
Had a good time up until the lunch wagon arrived with dead cattle and a huge horse! Not sure what the answer is but I don"t think Indiana is the place or these creatures!
I love visiting and learning about all the cats. The tour guides have all been great, fun, and informative. You really get to be up close to these animals. Wish it was more accessible, my mother had some difficulty navigsting the terrain with her rolling walker. And she could not feasibly use the outhouse. Can't wait to visit again.
I loved it when on a charity ride last Sunday got to do the tour and jessica our guide was amazing definitely will be back out there
