Friendly staff, clean room, comfy and warm bed, guest kitchen with free pasta - what more could I ask for? The location was perfect for us as we arrived at Sloterdijk, then attended a concert in The Box and later had great train connection to the airport. I have no idea how convenient it is for those who want to see the city because sadly we didn't have enough time for sightseeing.
Also I appreciate the fact that there are female dorms!

Incredibly well managed we will say that it is a hotel for travelers with people of all ages a very good free breakfast for children and not expensive for adults the elevators are very modern going from the first to the seventh floor with all the services correct wi-fi connections comfortable beds indeed and a very beautiful view is very well served by the grid since it is next to the station a very good atmosphere that reigns in the evening so you can take your walks in Amsterdam up to late the bar is open late as well as the reception and some games (arcade ...) are available !!!

Modern hotel with new equipment. This is generally very comfortable. It is next to the train and bus station and you can access many areas of Amsterdam very quickly. The team of the hotel is nice and helpful. I consider that the price we paid was rather high. The power in the shower is great too. This laid-back budget hotel near the intersection of the A5 and the A10 is a 6-minute walk from Sloterdijk subway station, and 7 km from lively Dam Square and the Royal Palace. The bright, streamlined rooms include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and en suite bathrooms. There are also mixed and single-sex dorms. Family rooms add bunk beds.Amenities include a funky bar with pool and foosball, plus a shared kitchen, a terrace and bike rentals. Breakfast and parking are available for a fee. What a fantastic hotel and location very clean and equipped , trams train and bus station all within walking distance. Only one stop on train to Amsterdam central. Would definitely recommend 100%. Some of the hostel rooms are fantastic, if you didn't know, you could quite easily mistake this for a hotel. There are showers that are very clean, modern and very easy to function. The beds, very comfy, staff very pleasant and helpful and the overall cleanliness of the building as a whole is top notch. There is also great other facilities here, such as a bar, buffet breakfast restaurant and table football. All great fun. I would highly recommend this if you are travelling, alone, with friends or with family.

Pros: The lobby area is nice. It's close to the train station and easily accessible from the city.

Cons: I had to move twice and still had problems in the third room. My first room was the size of a closet, and the window was very poorly insulated, so there was cold air coming down on my head all night. I then moved to a bigger room, which had construction going on above it from 8.30am. I was then moved to a room on a different floor WHICH ALSO HAD CONSTRUCTION GOING ON ABOVE IT FROM 8.30AM. The kind you cant sleep through. The least you expect when paying for a hotel room is to be able to sleep in a bit.
The staff were also not very friendly. I wont be staying again.

I've stayed in hostels around the world and this is one of the cleanest, most comfortable, and most modern I've ever stayed in. The guest kitchen is a bit small but functional. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment for 9 but I've seen much worse for more. I loved that it is so close to the train station. It's incredibly convenient for exploring the city.

We only stayed there for 2 nights, if you are young or a student you will love the place as the hotel looks like a student hob. For a family well they had rooms that we could all stayed together and still have loads of space the shower was separeted from the toilet area and the room was nice but not well cleaned to be honest. The price was great and really good place for a few nights but if you want more space as a couple not ideal but for a young couple with small kids this will be perfect

Good location, clean, friendly and lively. Hotel rooms although clean appear dated and a little clinical. Double rooms only have two single beds pushed together. However, as on a short stay this way not a problem. Bar and restaurant serving basic meals downstairs. Train station two minutes away from entrance. Several good quality restaurants nearby.

Great hotel for the price. It's definitely mostly a place for younger people, but they had no problems accommodating a family of four --- parents, a 5 year-old and a 7 months old baby. Rooms are nice and clean (and there's USB-A ports in many of the power outlets), staff is helpful and forthcoming and as most other people in Amsterdam, they speak English very well. Only minor issue was the noise from a nearby bar (Bret) but it wasn't even loud enough to wake up the baby, so not really a huge deal.

Also it's super duper close to Sloterdijk train/tram/bus station so it's easy to get places reasonably fast.

The beds are comfrtable and practical, with a box where you can charge your phone next to the bed, and the rooms are very clean and modern with an ensuite toilet and shower ( a body gel/shampoo 2in1 is provided). The sink is between these two rooms and has a hairdryer and provided soap next to it. There are clothes hangers, lockers where you can put clothes in and a lovely view out of the window.
On the ground floor there is a bar, som vending machines and a play area for little children. If you choose to have the inclusive breakfast then there is a wide variety of food to choose from and you ccan refill your plate as much as you want. Just be aware that you are expected to go into the kitchen and put you plates into a plate rack when you are done.
Finally, there is a trainstation and a tram station very near by so easy access to the city centre, as well as a large convenience store where you can buy snacks and other essentials.
Overall a great place to stay for a few nights.

From the first moment you get in, you feel that they want only your money. They have for wall decorations advertising of add ons. They charge you even for storage your luggage even if you are a guess, they don't care about the guesses. Room are ridiculously small. The hotel is far from the city.

The anticipation was great, the disappointment eve...

The anticipation was great, the disappointment even greater.
As soon as we entered the hotel we got an uncomfortable feeling. It started with the fact that we could not yet move into our room and therefore had to lock our suitcases in a locker. Since you could only choose 2 or 24 hours there, we had to pay 16, although we couldn't do anything and only 3! Took hours. When we were able to get into our room it didn't smell very good on the way there. So it went on in the room. In our room for a total of six people there were two windows that could not be opened. The alleged "ventilation" has done nothing to provide fresh air in the room, just as little as the ventilation in the shower. After just 2 hours the air was standing. Fresh air ? Nothing! Unfortunately we found all the hair and handkerchiefs in our beds that didn't belong to any of us even before we used them. For the fact that the lobby area was so clean, the room disappointed us even more of course. A shame :(! Apart from the current situation, a room, especially a multi-person room, without a window that can at least half open is simply unreasonable!
The stay in Amsterdam was very nice, unfortunately not in the hotel :(.

I didn't have a look at the pictures of the single rooms. Once I was there, I felt like shocked. I couldn't imagine you could sale a room (can we decently call that a room) so small at such a high rate : more than 80 for a "closet". It is robery. It was like a jail cell. I wanted to upgrade but unfortunately for me, there was no room available. I find that the price is not convenient for the size of the room.

A bit expensive for dorms. You must pay for towels. At the reception they didn't explain the difference between the day tickets for public transportation and they made my friend lose 12 because they refused to get the ticket back and exchange it for the one we needed.
Nice common areas and kitchen

Very clean, amazing accommodations. More of a hostel than a hotel, as you can get rooms with strangers, but that being said this is by far the nicest hostel I've been in. The location is pretty good. It's directly beside the Sloterdijk train station, and is a 15min train ride to Amsterdam Centraal ( 5 round trip).

I made the reservation through the hotel website because there is a special treatment reserved for groups (min 12 people); I received a good offer and confirmed the stay with Bed & breakfast for 15 people. We have received all the information and answers to the questions we did not find on the site. We found ourselves very well both for the excellent organization and for the good position with respect to the train station (20 minutes from Schiphol airport) and the terminus of several buses. The buffet breakfast is abundant and varied. Note to the responsible Claudio, prepared and available to our requests. Very positive experience, definitely worth considering for another trip to a place where Meininger is present :)

My reservation for a 7-bed dorm room was 'upgraded...

My reservation for a 7-bed dorm room was 'upgraded' (downside for a lone traveler looking to meet people) upon arrival to a single hotel room without extra cost. The bfast was solid/standard for upscale hostels. The place is right next door to the tram and rail station making it a good starting point for day trips outside of Amsterdam or to head into the city. Unfortunately, my stay here was my worst of my Euro trip because of a nasty bed bug infestation. I was left with rashes all over most of my body, that itch terribly and left my ankle infected, swollen, and oozing. The handling of the situation was most disappointing as I am accustomed to good customer service. The manager of the hotel stated the investigation of my room discovered no bugs and therefore she could not give me a full refund for my stay. However, she did acknowledge that my bites looked stereotypical of bed bugs. Additionally, bed bugs can be difficult to find as they hide in furniture and wood during the day. If not for this incidence, I would recommend the hostel for people looking for a quiet area outside the city from which to explore the city.

The hotel is in a very good location, with very close transport. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is very good and it's worth all the money. It is more a hotel for young people, but they also have spaces specially designed for children. Overall, I recommend the hotel and I will definitely return.

In general quite well and 10 minutes from the center by public transport (which is also next to the station)

The only thing is that the air conditioning cools very little.

IMPORTANT: I do not recommend parking in the public car park near the hotel. They broke my car window there. I had to park there because even though the hotel has parking, they told me it was not available.

During this event, which I understand is not the hotel's fault, I had very little collaboration from the staff. A little help or a guide to know how to act in this city would have been very good.

Very close to Slotterdijk train station. It takes only 5 minutes to get to the city center. But if you buy a GVB card, which is cheaper than Amsterdam card, it's not available for the train, which means you need to take bus#22 to get to the city center, and this takes about 20 minutes.

The hotel itself is clean and spacious in a 6-people room, with stylish and good quality beds. But the water was hard to drain down in the bathroom. The drainage should be cleaned and maintained at a very smooth-going condition.

Besides, the hotel accommodated many people and most of them were teenagers, but there were only 2 elevators and the speed going was quite slow, which was obvious not enough for all the people waiting for them. There should've been more elevators for so many people!

The kitchen has all the things you need: the frying pans, the boiling pans, the glasses, the cups, the knifes, the forks, the spoons, the plates, the washing detergent, the towels, the sponges, the cooking stoves, the kettles, the washing machine, and even the fridge for customers to store their food with name tag on it, which is very friendly and convenient for travelers.

The hotel is just right beside the train station, but there are many stairs to reach the hotel, so we had to carry heavy luggage downstairs by ourselves, and the hotel staff weren't willing to offer a little help even when we were all women with a little child. Too many stairs down to the hotel but the hotel staff were reluctant to help their customers in need, which was the worst part of the hotel.

Good location. Amsterdam accessible via the tram. Get the 24hr or 48 hr ticket from the hotel reception. There is a Spar near to the station for those on tight budgets. Hotel is clean and at 7 euro breakfast good value. Rooms are fine with a good shower. Ours didnt have a bath. A great hotel for exploring the city.

Outstanding hotel for the price which is literally 2mins from the tram and train station with direct links to the city center. Would definitely recommend staying here if your planning on visiting Amsterdam. The breakfast that was included in my package was great and really set you up for the day. The bar on site serves a selection of toasted sandwiches into the evening and has a good selection of drinks on offer too. The rooms are basic but maintained to a high standard and were immaculate.

A no-frills budget hotel ideal as a base for a family visit to Amsterdam, which is why we booked! V clean and bright room, comfy beds. but no kettle! All The staff were v helpful and the buffet breakfast,( ideal for cheese lovers!) set us up for the day. Lots of coming and going ( v popular with school groups) but nice laid back atmosphere in the bar. Only 2 mins walk from Sloterdijk tstation and also the bus and tram station so very handy for getting into the city in 15/20 mins.

Good value for the money. Beds not comfortable. Very clean, the staff very kind and helpful. They are very good guys working there. They can provide you a lot of tours and activities in Amsterdam and in other cities nearby. Breakfast is very good, fruits, hot chocolate, delicious cheese, breads, cereals and so on.They serve dinner as well There are also a pool a table foot. Close to the hotel you will find a supermarket (Spar), very convenient. In front of the hotel there is a bar.The only problem is that there are not much around and the city center is very far.Public transportation is expensive and no so well connected as other main cities in Europe.

I stayed here as a chaperone with a group of ~20 American High School students and the place definitely provided the bang for the buck. The staff was extremely courteous, the bar was well stocked with a knowledgeable bartender, and the breakfast was one of the best of our whirlwind European adventure.

A hybrid between being a hostel and a hotel. Average prices, all in all good value for money. Well connected right next door (about 30 meters) from Sloterdjik station well stocked with a Starbucks for breakfast if not included.
They do not change the towels, at least in the standard rooms and the hangings are on request. Good service and quite welcoming staff considering northern European standards. Recommended.
