Great hostel with very clean rooms with a superb location with being so close to the train station. Staff were extremely friendly too

I will 100% be staying here again. From how warm and helpful the (24 hour) front desk was, to how clean EVERYTHING was. This place is super accommodating, literally ten seconds from Sloterdjik train station, has a grocery store nearby, a bar that's open until after midnight. A self serve kitchen where you can cook and do laundry...Honestly! Just amazing. Did I mention how amazing wonderful the front desk staff were? Definite recommendation, ESPECIALLY if there's a big group of you and you're able to all stay in the same room (make sure you ask as this is not always the case, but they will always try to group the majority of your party together). The beds aren't the most comfy but what can you expect from a six bedroom bunked bed hostel/hotel...and most importantly they are clean AND cleaned during your stay. It's also only one stop from Amsterdam central. Check it out!

The hotel is very clean and looks modern. The 5-person room is spacious with a good shower. The only flaw is the enthusiasm of the staff. There was hardly anyone in the hotel but they seemed too busy to say good morning.

Meininger Hotel in Amsterdam blew us away. We only had 10hrs there so we didn't use many facilities but everything was amazing. It was modern, clean, check in was easy with lovely people. Would highly recommend and will stay again.

Hotel is located next to the train station. It is only one stop from the city centre. The hotel was recently renovated. The rooms are in top shape, and the bathrooms are very modern looking. Hotel staff is nice and friendly.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It's clean, staff are helpful and room was very nice. It's right next door to the train station and only one stop from Amsterdam central. I will be returning to this hotel for my next trip there.

Massive building and we'll equipped though a but out of the city

It was easy to find the hotell, easy to find the busstation, to much people in the breakfast, a lot of suger in all food in the breakfast, boring that it not was so much restaurang in the near on the evning, easy to park the car, nice staff, very bad mattress in the beds, our backs hurts.

Third time staying in this Hostel and definitely would and have recommended to anyone to stay here. Very clean and a perfect distance from city centre (I like to commute to city centres when travelling.) Only negative would be that it is very lacking in atmosphere and is quite soulless, which is to be expected of a large chain hostel. Despite this it is the best place i ve Stayed in Amsterdam for price, cleanliness and location, will no doubt be back soon!

Everything was great. The breakfast is cheap! Value for money. People at the reception were friendly and very helpful! Clean, comfortable, pleasant. Very near a supermarket and the train station! Free walking tour was great too! The family highly recommends MEININGER hotel!

Room was very spacious but basic. No kettle, fridge or microwave. Instead, you have a guest kitchen that is very small and supposed to cater for guests from 300 odd rooms!

Great hostel near the train station. Excellently connected to Amsterdam and whole of the Netherlands

We had a good experience here. Just was not a fan of the bathrooms. The whole bathroom was basically elbow to elbow for me.

The hotel is clean, no too noisy and have a lot of facilities.
We regret just we don't have the room booked, but we were upgrade, so it's ok :)

Overall the experience was great. The hotel was well placed, and the room was quite comfortable. The only points that could be improved are the air conditioning (the room was way too cold) and the provided towels were way too short.

Very nice hotel, clean, confortable. The beds were good enough and the staff was very atencious. One night I arrived late for dinner and one of the ladies kept the food a bit longer just for me, it was really nice. Little to no noise at night and overall a very pleasent stay.

As the title says! Friendly staff, clean hotel, safe and relaxed atmosphere with a wide range of traveller from solo backpackers to families to what looked like school trips.

Rooms were above and beyond expectations, and it was nice to see housekeeping staff regularly. Would highly recommend Meininger as your hostel for visiting Amsterdam :)

The hosts were perfectly fluent English, and extremely helpful. We were directed to some sights around Amsterdam and we were not disappointed. Definitely will be staying there again on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Cozy hotel, helpful and kind desk staff. Rooms furnished in a modern style and very clean. The relaxation area, children's corner and the wall where the photos taken by customers in the station in the bar area are very nice. Convenient location next to the metro / train station. A little note on the somewhat precarious heating and the really excessive tourist tax. Other than that, it was worth it !!

Very fresh place, room was a bit small but for the money it's definitely worth it.

It's a great hotel. I found the hotel well located. It is next to the train station Sloterdjik which provides for an easy way of transport. The staff is good. The rooms are not very large as but the hotel is brilliant

Very close to transport (metro, train and bus). Staff very good but when we first entered the room it was dirty and we asked to be cleaned..when we went in shortly the sheets had not changed! There was a mouse around the entrance too !! Breakfast expensive for its quality !! The prices are good but they have poor cleaning

Hotel room was nice altough we expected a bigger room for 3 people since it cost more. It was however cosy and pleasant and located next to train station so it was easy to get to centrum. Eveything went well and service was good. All in all very likeable hotel.

Pretty good space and right next to a transit hub that's five minutes from the Cebtraal station. Beds are pretty comfortable as well.

I had a wonderful stay and would 100% stay there again. It was so easy to get back and forth from the city center, location was great. The service was exceptional with recommendations of what to do in the city, fitting our needs for the room, they went beyond what they had to do. The bar and outdoor areas are great options for hanging out in downtime and the rooms were exceptionally clean. I wish every place that I stayed at was more like this one.

Excellent experience for a family of five. We used the car park, unbeatable access. The location is one stop by train to Amsterdam centraal, so everything is accessible. The Corona virus is a factor everywhere, the hotel has adapted well and all staff are dutifully aware. Actually, with the current limit on travels, the hotel is not too busy and visiting Amsterdam is excellent at this time, all the museums are easily accessible and enjoyable. Great stay!

I stayed with my 2 kids for 5 nights and the hostel is quite good although they need to improve some things.
The hostel is near to the airport and you can move easily to Amsterdam central in the tram. Despite being sited by a train station, the rooms are really well isolated and you couldn't hear a fly, even from room to room. Rooms were very clean and the staff was lovely and very helpful. Also, they have a play area for kids with lots of toys and my children loved it.

The first day of stay, hot water in our room wasn't working. However, they fixed quickly and in compensation, they offered us a free buffet breakfast for 2 days.

We were in a triple bedroom and my mattress was awful! I guess it was because my bed was used also as a sofa?? Anyway, you didn't need to sit or lie down to feel the springs. You just needed to pass your hand over to feel them! (room 626, in case management, read my comment). So, I swapped the bed with my son who is still little and not as heavy as me.

One night, we were playing Jenga (they display one game in every table in the bar area which is great, isn't it?) and we saw a little mouse running around. I didn't panic as I love animals but when I informed staff, he didn't seem surprised at all so, I assumed they may have uninvited guests...

Overall, the hostel was fantastic. However, due to the mattress, the problem with the hot water and the mouse, I cannot give more than 3 stars.

Very nice hotel, nice and modern room with all the necessities. The international breakfast is good and with a big choice of food and drinks. The staff is very kind and there's the possibility to leave the luggage in a room before the check in or after the check out. The hotel is just few minutes walking from the Sloterdijk station, that is served by tram, metro, train and bus lines.

Good standard room, enough space, nice bathroom and all clean, excellent links to the city centre (4mins on the train, every 10mins, train is 100m from the hotel). Overall good value and secure. LOTS of young people and groups staying so feels just like a hostel or a school trip, people running and a bit loud in the corridors etc from time to time though this did not go on late (after ~2300 or before ~0700). A good position between a regular hotel and a hostel.

The rooms are small but well furnished. I slept as a baby thanks to the silent room and the amazing matress. Not bad the connections to the city centre.

Next door to the station but you can't hear the trains. Good location for a 5 minute train ride into the center.

Goede faciliteiten, mooie ligging, voordelig. Enig minpunt was dat de verwarming op de kamer het niet deed en dus erg koud was. De heerlijke douche en bed compenseerden dat grotendeels. Ideaal: de gastenkeuken.

For a budget hotel, this place is a big step up from most hostels. You can reserve a bed or a room. Be sure to pay for breakfast as it's quite good, though they have a shared guest kitchen if you would rather cook your own. Note that they recently moved their front entrance, so if you Uber or Taxi it, pit in the address of the train station rather than their main address or you'll be lugging bags up the stairs.

Walking distance to all kinds of transport. 5 min travel on train to Amsterdam Central for 4.80 return. Good looking hotel although price of breakfast is a little bit high for what's available.

Me and my sister stayed at the Meininger for 3 nights. It was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were well kept and clean at all times. The breakfast was delicious and the offers really helped too. Thanks to all the staff

The hotel is very nice. It's right next to a train station but you can't hear it in your room, and the advantage of being able to easily get into the city is well worth it. They also have a very large garage where you can store your car. As for the rooms themselves they are very clean and quite spacious. All in all its a very modern establishment and it provides everything anyone wanting to visit Amsterdam would need.

Holidaying with my family, I booked into a 4 pax private room at MEININGER Amsterdam City West hote. First time trying a hotel/hostel hybrid accommodation and with MEININGER and did not regret my choice.
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a choice of an in-house cafe or self-catering communal kitchen for meals. Although far from center of town, it is next to Sloterdijk Station for train, metro, bus and tram services. It is also a 30 minutes ride by train from Schipol Airport and to Amsterdam Central Station. There are also cafes, fastfood takeaways and convient store at the station.
So, in a nutshell it is comfortable and convenient. I would stay at MEININGER Amsterdam City West again when I return to Amsterdam.

Very nice hotel, confusing beds and very nice service

Truly a great place to stay - nice, new, and clean.
Room was great, my friend and I stayed in dorm (7 people) but it truly felt more like hotel than hostel. The room was spacious enough and very clean and quiet.
Location was great, literally right outside of the Sloterdijk station - so getting to city was fast and easy (I recommend buying ticket including trains - it takes only 5 mins to Centraal. If you go by bus it will be 20 at least).
Only downfall was that the common kitchen was very small for such a big place and storing luggage was quite expensive.
However, I would really recommend this place to anyone traveling to Amsterdam. Really great experience and reasonable price.
I truly enjoyed my stay and if I'm ever again in Amsterdam I will book here.

Noisy guests. Both nights i have stayed here the people next to me have come in past midnight drunk singing making loads of noise listening to music. Not happy cant wait to go home

OK hotel was not welcomed by receptionist who did not even smiled once and just give instruction like a racist

I stayed at the same hotel in Salzburg and was so glad to see one in Amsterdam. It is so clean and everyone is very helpful. They have a locked luggage room if you are early you can leave your bags and the kitchen was great. The rooms are really small but it's not a big deal.

Stylish and modern hotel with a fantastic location next to the train station. Very Uncomfortable beds with the mattresses only being around 5cm thick. Our stay was blighted by virtually the entire floor being taken by school teenagers. Staff had no control of the kids running around until the early hours of the morning and offered nothing to make up for our disrupted stay and hardly any sleep over 3-4 nights.

Frankly it's perfect for young people, very good atmosphere, the rooms are really classy, clean and spacious, the bathrooms are the same, and all that for 18.50 per night including taxes, it's a gift . Me and my friends ended up with two Americans and an Argentinian in our room of 7, it was a great meeting. At the bottom of the hostel there are several relaxation areas with billiards, bbfoot, piano, bar ... There is even a large equipped kitchen open to everyone to prepare your own meals if you are lazy to go and buy something outside . To go to the city center of Amsterdam there is the bus, the tram, and the metro 100m from the hotel not even and it takes about 13 minutes, frankly I recommend

Great place to stay! Very good, clean rooms, shower and toilet are private in the room, polite personnel. Super great location near train station Sloterdijk and bus stop - 3 minutes to each. 10 minutes to get to airport, as well, as to the Amsterdam Centraal.

They also have a bike rent service, but it's a bit expensive - 17 euro for a day. Also guest kitchen is too small for such huge hostel and you are not allowed to drink your bear there.

Amsterdam hotels are very expensive, there are normal prices here.

The hotel is well and practically decorated. The location of the hotel is very good. It is near all public transport system (train, tram and bus) It takes 5 minutes to reach Amsterdam Centarale (train station) by train. the breakfast was good and enough to start the day. But the room 620 was a bit cold. The heater doesn't work well. It should be checked. The check in and check out were easy and fast.
