Fay and Lexi were super helpful with drink and food selection! Thanks for a great experience!
Great food, sushi & cocktails. Do not skip the rooftop patio. Love it.
Delicious! The truffle fries are amazing and great vegetarian options
Great service and excellent food. Kids were happy and my wife's birthday ended on a high note.
Ate here 3 times when we were in Durango, always had a great meal! Good food, vibes and service. Loved the roof top eating area. We will be sure to eat here again if we are ever in Durango again. Keep up the good work Eolus!
What a delicious taste bud experience.. Absolutely delicious. Great Atmosphere. Elegant setting. Delicious food down to the last bite.
Service and food was top- notch with price higher than anticipated but good value for the experience.
Absolute flop. Overly priced for below average food. Will not visit there again
Best kitchen and service in Durango; you can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the attention to detail is superb. Highly recommended!
The food was delicious. Service was great. The company was the best. Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the menu selections and dessert was a perfect ending. Highly recommended
Excellent for someone newly diagnosed with celiac disease. Delicious!
Exquisite food! This was the best meal I've had in years. The calamari appetizer was absolutely fantastic and the best I've ever had. The saffron seafood stew and surf & turf were outstanding. They also have some great wine and cocktails. Highly recommended! I can't wait to eat here again next time I'm in town.
Great meal & free dessert for celebrating anniversary.
I honestly was hoping for a better steak, the potatoes were very very salty, calamari was so so. For the price I expected better.
The food is at most is average. These two server always went above and beyond for my groups and myself. Not to mention the menu hasn't changed AT ALL. I can't believe they can still be in business serving the same ole same ole. "
I went in to have what I thought would be a relaxing evening for my daughter and I (the parents out there know how desperately you want to have a nice evening out when you do finally go out...)
I spent 65+ on just myself and daughter and I got treated with the rudest experience that I've had as a mother. I was somehow blessed with a GREAT baby, people who hate kids love her. She cries 1 percent of the time. I was on the roof top with two other tables (NO ONE WAS SITTING DOWNSTAIRS..) My daughter is at the babbling stage so she was just babbling, and a rude customer who was finished with his meal may I add, turned around and YELLED "GUYS PLEASE" in the most rude condescending voice as he gesticulated aggressively. I didn't do anything more because I was in shock. I told my server about what happened and she apologized immensely, and tried to calm me down but I was so upset I was speechless. Even the table next to me said something after the rude guy left. They wanted to play with my daughter and say hi because she was being so sweet and cute. (If the restaurant was actually packed it would have been much louder than my daughter babbling) I thought when my server told the manager that he'd also be disgusted with the situation. What happened? He said "that guy is a regular" After talking with multiple employees who've worked there for years, they all confirmed they had never seen the guy before. This manager didn't apologize to me, didn't offer to comp my tab ((which I'm used to ASK THEM ABOUT THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY DISCOUNT) ;)
Not to mention my burger was disgustingly over cooked...I don't think there was even lobster on it) I even heard this new manager YELLING at the staff. The server he was yelling at was a server I personally hired to work at the restaurant I used to manage awhile back. She is one of the best servers I've had work with/for me, and I know for a fact that there was no justification for how he was talking to her ABOUT ME, IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. I've seen tables get up and hug this lady because she is that personable with her tables. Unfortunately this manager (names Jason I think?) I have had a rude experience with before. He used to work at Chimayo, and my boss and I were had a business meeting. We dropped over 200 dollars on our meal, and the same manager that Eolus has now was our server. There was one other table in the restaurant and he couldn't get our orders right, and refused to get me the salad I wanted (even though the chefs would make it for me every time I came in..literally that was the only thing I ordered there, so I knew he was just lazy and didn't want to go check with the chefs. My boss was just as upset because he forgot to get us wine when we asked, dressing when we asked. Something I learned when I started in this industry when I was 14. I am fine dining trained, and this establishment doesn't come anywhere near. I'm am very shocked that James hired this guy. He walks around like someone just chopped off his head. And he was sitting at the bar doing paperwork when I was leaving. Until every guest has left, there shouldn't be any servers more or less managers sitting down. Never have I encountered a restaurant with such a snobby vibe.
I am a minority, and it is obvious that a rude older Caucasian man is their priority (I imagine they think he must have more money.) I guess "someone like me" wouldn't have the money they are interested in. If you're a parent save yourself the dirty looks and boring food. Especially if you're not Caucasian. El Moro always welcomes me with a smile when I walk in with my daughter, and so do a lot of other restaurants in town.
I've taken groups here, and have been coming here for years like I mentioned. I will now never go back, and make sure everyone I know hears about the discrimination I have dealt with there.
Great all around. Super atmosphere. Try the roof in the summer!
You have to eat here. Excellent food. Sushi rolls are XL.
A most satisfying experience! Loved everything about it!
Great menu featuring local and organic ingredients. Friendly, knowledge staff. Happy Hour cannot be beat!
My husband and I had a great experience at this restaurant. We ordeded the Veggie Roll, Salmon Nori Roll, mushroom and coconut shrimp soup and Chopped salad (house smoked salmon, avocado, tomato, corn, cous cous, nut-fruit medley, egg). The pickles ginger on the side of the roll was house made, and it tasted very fresh. I could taste this chef's commitment. They were so welcoming even though we arrived close to closing time. Tom our waiter very kindly served us. We usually don't order desert, but my husband had the Chocolate Hazelnut Pyramid and I had the miso/butterscotch flavored Ice Cream and Sorbet. Both were excellent. We had a great meal and dessert. And the Russell Kelly Pale Ale on Nitro was very tasty. We highly recommend this place. We ate at many restaurants on this trip and this was the Best place.
Great ambience and a friendly , professional staff. The food was prepared and served in timely manner.
Mikayla was a fantastic server, more for personality than anything but also attention to our table. Also first time on the roof top. The food was excellent, thank you.
Wow. We didn t expect how good this place would be! Eat here now.
Pros: The menu was creative, and many of the ingredients were locally-sourced, and the service was remarkable!
Cons: The portions we're kinda small for the price.
They also have a burger menu you can ask for if you want a slightly cheaper meal.
We had a wonderful relaxing dinner, excellent service, and food!
Had a wonderful experience. Great wait staff and great atmosphere. The food was top notch and worth the price paid. I would recommend this farm to table establishment.
We had a great dinner. The food was creatively presented and beautifully prepared. Portions were overly generous. Service was right on and the staff was really friendly as well as attentive. What a lovely experience. Wish we lived in Durango so that we might eat there regularly.
Great food and wine. The service is a bit overwrought but hey. Desert took somewhat longer than the 15min advertised.
This is another of my favorite places to eat in Durango. The food is always fabulous! The Lobster Burger is to-die-for. As is the Hanger Steak and also the Grilled Beef Filet. The waitstaff is always very friendly. If you're lucky, you'll get Matthew, one of the best, most knowledgeable, most attentive and helpful waiter/bartender/person that I have known. The cocktails are delicious. I just cannot say enough good things about this place! It is a little on the pricey side but well worth it!
There are a lot of restaurants which get high reviews, but Eolus is exemplary. They deserve more than five stars. The service was impeccable, and everyone there was attentive to our needs. We didn t have a reservation, yet they still accommodated us. The drinks were reasonably priced. Most importantly, our dinners were fabulous. I would call them culinary creations, not meals, and were prepared perfectly. I ve had the benefit of dining at some of the best restaurants in the country, and I would put Eolus in the highest category. If you want a cheap, huge meal cooked by a short-order cook, this is not your establishment. Eolus is for discerning patrons who value the dining experience.
Not what you would expect in an old west, mountain town. The selections rival any big city restaurant. My wife I arrived during happy hour (5pm to 6pm) on a Friday night. Very busy right from the moment they open. Reservations are recommended. Unfortunately, we did not have a reservation and ended up at the very narrow window bar/table. However, the delicious items more than made up for inconvenience. The Patio Burger, made with local James Ranch beef was cooked to perfection (medium). Pork buns were amazing as were the different sushi rolls. To round this out, Fenceline Cider (Mancos, CO) is some of the best hard apple cider you will ever try. The wait staff was very attentive. Thank you, Eolus! Already looking forward to next time.
Amazing food great gluten free options. Highly recommend sitting on rooftop patio
Great food and wine. Local sources and an elegant atmosphere.
Our food was so over cooked we could barely eat it. Our server was great. Her name was either Amy or Ali. She was super great about the kitchen botching our meals. Service is great but we asked for rare and medium rare and we re served well done steaks and duck. If I m paying 40-50$ for an entree I expect to have my food cooked how I asked. I could have made a better steak on my grill.
Very overpriced, waited forever for our food and it was not even busy. Forgot our appetizer, total disaster both time we went here. We learned our lesson and will never go back. Dont make the same mistake we did.
Excellent service paired with delicious food. On top of that, one of the best atmospheres in Durango!
Great entrees and cocktails
Definitely one of the better higher end restaurants in Durango
To find this level of cuisine and service in a small town these days is amazing. Slightly pricey but worth the tab!
Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and accommodating to special dietary needs and restrictions. Service was prompt and courteous.
What a treat! Osso Bucco was fantastic and the service was first class!
What a wonderful experience. Surf and turf done perfectly. The Sommelier had an excellent Cabernet to compliment it. Wonderful service!
We had a delightful dining experience including delicious sushi, bread, and of course our main entrees and great service.
A beautiful restaurant with exceptional food! I highly recommend the roof top seating and their sushi.
The bartenders produce excellent craft cocktails and the staff are pleasant & delightful.
A great spot for a romantic evening out. If you are bringing your kids, I recommend an early reservation. Reservations are necessary!
The food, drinks, and service are phenomenal. Thank you, Mera and everyone else for a wonderful evening (and getting us food even though we came in after the kitchen closed).
Good service, but the menu is very limited. For somewhere that brags "local mountain" foods there was an awful lot of seafood and the vegetarian oprions were sparse. Not worth the price in my opinion.
Gourmet everything! From the olive oil to the sushi, fresh fresh fresh. Ask your server for wine recommendations, yum~
Exceptional food, wine, and service. This is a really great place for a nice/special dinner. It s well priced for the quality of the food. We ordered the beet salad as an appetizer, which was great. For dinner, we both ordered the hanger steak medium rare, and it was excellent. I highly recommend the hanger steak. The recommended cab was a great pairing. Staff was very knowledgeable and very attentive. The outdoor upstairs seating is wonderful with great views.
One of the best place for fine dining in Durango. They have the best burger on happy hour.
Consistently excellent food and service. Delicious fish specials and steak options, great cocktails and desserts. Laney and James go out of their way to provide an enjoyable experience time and time again. Thank you for all that you do for our community--we are spoiled!
My wife and I love to come here for our date nights. Atmosphere is intimate and the food is first rate.
Edit: Two years later and I have never had a bad experience here. The food is consistent to a fault and always well cooked. The specials excite and the service is first class. I cannot say enough good things about Eolus.
IDEAL PLACE FOR A WEDDING RECEPTION.
Eolus recently hosted my wedding reception and it was perfect! They have a private room on the second floor with wonderful lighting and beautiful views of Durango & the surrounding mountains.
The staff was professional, courteous, and willing to work within our budget and time frame. Everyone at my wedding commented on how amazing the food and drinks were and how attentive the staff was.
The manger and owner of Eolus made the planning effortless.
If you want a truly unique and elegant wedding reception, Eolus is THE PLACE in Durango to host your reception. Your guests will go home happy, well fed and impressed by the extreme professionalism of the place.
My husband and I will be celebrating many more of our milestones at Eolus with their yummy Pork Osso Bucco and Thai Tinis.
It was overpriced for what you got. My duck was chewy and cooked poorly. The skin was not rendered. Cant even recall what was served with it. Others at the table have same complaint. Mediocre food.
Perfect steak, the "two ways". Service was excellent. The chef really knew whathe was doing. Our server was very detailed and explained all dishes and we even got the door held for us on the way out.
The food is the best I have found in Durango. Sure to please you with locally sourced ingredients and attention to detail, so worth the price. The service is almost as great as the food..and that says volumes..try the lobster burger with Wagyu upgrade!
We went back this summer twice it's over priced service is lacking and food went way down in quality. Out if our party of 6, four of us felt sick after the birthday dinner.
Knocked my socks off!!
Fiance and I came in mid March, great experience!
All of the food was divine! Every item we got was delicious, and clearly of the highest quality. I got the salmon filet, and oh my god was it perfect. Fresh salmon in Durango?!?! Yes it's possible. Not only was the salmon awesome, the calamari that comes on the plate as a side was the best I've ever had. I'm normally not a big calamari fan because of the chewy/rubbery texture. Eolus' calamari was unlike any I've ever had not chewy, but meaty. Not over-battered either, it didn't just taste like fried batter. Other items; lobster corn dogs, and fiance's crab stuffed chicken were also home runs!
Service was also superb (wish I could remember our server's name, young guy with an awesome beard). Very attentive but not intruding, timely but not rushing.
Overall, 5 stars no question. It is clear that the chef and management here are very dedicated to quality in all aspects of their business.
This is one of the pricier places in Durango, but I felt that we got a bargain for the quality of food and service that were delivered. Especially compared to what we pay for a similar experience in Denver.
Will definitely be back!
Having celiac disease, this was such a wonderful place to eat! Almost everything on the menu can be prepared for celiac disease! So many options. I was told that the chef has celiac disease, so the staff was well educated and so helpful. I had the curry and quoina with vegetables with salmon as well as several sushi dishes. I also had the pork buns prepared gluten free and the seared scallops. Highly recommend. The flavors were so wonderful in every dish.
Great atmosphere, great food (highly suggest surf and turf and lobster corn dogs), excellent service. They really knocked it out of the park!
We had a very enjoyable dining experience. The sushi was perfect, the surf and turf was well prepared and absolutely delicious. Our persnickety son even loved the grilled salmon. All of the food and the amazing service by Alissa made us feel extra special as each plate was brought to us by her and two other professional waitstaff. This restaurant exceeded our expectations and will yours as well.
Best fine dining restaurant in Durango! Amazing service, drinks and THE best food! Always consistent.
Excellent, attentive and friendly service. Creative and extensive menu. Good wine list and mixed drinks. Well prepared, tasty and beautifully presented food. A rarity is how the butter is served - soft and spreadable. Casual atmosphere. A bit pricy, but money well spent.
Small portions. Very expensive. Lots of foofoo garbage sauces which overpowers the taste of everything. Not much variety and its all $40-$50 a plate. Get back to common sense meals. Your typical downtown Durango meal
Scallops, warm beet salad, Hanger steak. Excellent service
Overpriced, long wait, small portions, bad service!!!!!
Our waiter was snobby and rude and our dessert had a hair in it, disgusting!!!
Amazing food and service. A beautiful ambiance with soothing colors and an historical setting make this a must visit spot. Try the surf and turf or the pan seared chicken.
From the opening of the front entrance door, the greeting by the host, the eacort to the restroom, to our seat on the rooftop: every aspect of our night at Eolus was exceptional. Our server Thomas and the rest of the staff were equally exceptional. The food was as unique as the atmosphere. Durango has a Gem in Eolus. Probably the best dining establishment in Durango. Bread to dessert, including the cup of Joe to close our evening was exquisite.
The prices are extremely high but the food is astonishingly good.
Eolus has a great atmosphere, excellent (superb, exquisite) cuisine, and great staff. Their happy hour menu is quite affordable, too. With a great variety of food choices and prices, Eolus is a "special occasion" place that you can enjoy as often as you want.
Celebrated our anniversary here and It was a great experience. The food came out at the perfect timing for each course, everything tasted amazing, and the customer service was A+. We will be recommending this place for sure and we will definitely be back. Thank you Eolus Staff for all you do!
My husband and I like to go to Eolus for Valentine's Day every year, and this year was no exception. We choose Eolus because the service, food, ambiance, and atmosphere is absolutely stellar. You can't go to a nicer place in New York, Paris, or anywhere in the world, in our humble opinion. This is definitely the most upscale, "worth it" restaurant in Durango.
Great food and staff. Expensive, but worth it. Gluten free options that are actually really good.
Amazing food, amazing cocktails, and I am not just saying that because I know the owner.
Excellent service and food by Eric, Victoria, Chef Chris and team. We will certainly be back!
