They sent you notice of cancellation after missing payment for only 1 statement which I ve never received it at all. Even though I paid full amount on time of the next statement, they charged me for final notice collection fee... After years of being customer, missing one month will make you a delinquent customer and getting charges for late payment plus cancellation notice fee... looks like they don t need customers but customers needs them

I will never use ENMAX again.

I will never use ENMAX again.

These made a mistake with my last billing, i was told in July that my last bill would be a certain amount, at a certain date.

Apparently, there was an additional bill that i wasn't aware of. i thought the account was closed and finalized.

They claimed they had contacted via email. when i contacted them myself after a missed call, i was put on hold and disconnected.

I never followed up and got a call from the collections in Winnipeg, when i spoke to a manger named Daryl i found him abrupt and interruptive.

Never will i use their services after this.

*update* I would like to thank the customer service rep who contacted me and dealt with the situation. It's such a relief to have it resolved.

I'm honestly at my wits end or I wouldn't be posting this here. I sold my house in August I moved out called all the utilities including enmax. A month later I get a bill for my old house at my new address, strange why would I get this? I called and was told my old account was closed but since new owners didn't register for utilities I was automatically assumed to be living there and a new account was opened in my name without my permission. So I call and ask it be closed I don't live there I can't afford someone else's utilities, enmax rep says sure account will be closed. I call back a few days later to confirm this. So to my surprise this week I get a new bill for my old house with more charges, I can't afford to pay a bill now in the hundreds of dollars for a place I don't live at. The account was supposed to be closed, if new owners are soo ignorant not to open utilities why is it not just shut off. My credit rating will now be affected by this if I don't pay it.

Great customer service. The representative took her time to explain my charges in detail, without making me feel like I should know better. She went above by making sure I was on the plan I needed. Excellent, patient and friendly.

Enmax does not care about you. I changed my chequing account info and forgot to contact ENMAX. That was definitely my mistake 100%. Enmax, who has my email, 2 phone numbers, and mailing address did not contact me about my unpaid bills. Again I should have noticed and this is my fault. So the very first communication I received was a notice of disconnection giving me 3 days to pay or my power will be turned off. If you don t pay your bills your power will be turned off, understandable. However, could they have emailed me or called me or sent a letter after the first or second month I didn t pay? No.

So I go to pay I make sure the money is in the account and I phone to make sure that the payment will go through. (I still didn t realize that it was a closed account issue). After talking to three different representatives and having my power shut off they asked if I was aware that the account I was trying to pay with had been closed. It then clicked for me. But they sat on this information, staring them in the face for 3 months and several phone calls and didn t tell me.

They neglect to communicate with you so they can charge you all of these fees associated with late payment, communication fee, notice delivery fee, disconnection fee, reconnection fee. Over three hundred dollars of fees that could have been avoided.

I m not discounting my idiocy for not telling them I changed my info however through this whole process the representatives had no power to resolve issues only to tell you about policy. Ridiculous. Give your representatives authority to solve issues.

GARBAGE COMPANY.

Enmax is terrible, the charges are so high I cant even afford to pay the bill on time and with the economy being down, they are still charging outrages prices and fees for everything! They charge 3.25% after a late fee adding $67 to my bill. In the summer I cut my water from 10 cubic meters to 4 cubic meters and my bill only went down by $10....how does that make sense?

Enmax mistaken our account with our neighbors and de-activated our account when we were on 2 months holiday. Apparently the cross check to verify they have the right account totally failed on there end. I'm looking into taking legal actions towards this company. So disappointing

Curious about the work being done on 8th Ave between 8th and 9th Streets.

The work here has been in effect for months; the same small stretch gets dug up, repaired, dug up, repaired, dug up, repaired, dug up, repaired. Considering it s a 24-7 operation, can someone enlighten us as to what in the Jimminy-Jim-Jim is going on there?!

Who is overseeing this operation, and who is paying for this? When will the noise and exhaust be over?

I had a tenant who didn't set up power to the apartment. Enmax pulled the title to find my name and send me a bill. Then they charged by $25 for doing that.

Then they charged me $15 for sending me the billing notice telling me that they pulled my title and created an account with an outstanding balance. I paid the charges to preserve my credit.

Then they said I paid 1 day too late, so they charged me $50 for pulling cutting power. Then they charged another $50 to reconnect the power. I called saying they never disconnected it because I paid and they agreed but didn't waive the hundreds of dollars of fees.

Bottom line: power usage over this period was $40, but I paid $200+ in fees (they also charged delivery fees for the power and account fees).

This company is disgusting and takes advantage of Calgarians.

Something needs to be done to hold them accountable for their abuse of their market power.

I'm not a big fan of Enmax. I was with them for 50 years but when I eventually transferred my electric out, they sent me a substantial bill saying it was for a meter error. Not service oriented. Closed on weekends, so if you have trouble logging in on a weekend, or long weekend, you are out of luck. It's too bad they seem to have a monopoly on the water. I've been waiting for 30 minutes for a password reset, and when it comes, I'm guessing it will say valid for 5 minutes so I've pretty much given up on that.

I m no longer with Enmax but when I was, I always hated calling their customer service department. It s like they never trained their staff. Their staff is always very rude and one time their customer service representative was pretty much yelling over the phone. This company is an absolute joke!!

Kinda upset that money was taken out of my account twice for my power bill and I can't even get it back for 2 weeks. I've got bills to pay & groceries to buy here. Also politely asked to speak to a supervisor and accidentally hung up while waiting. When they called me back (not a supervisor) he said in an extremely impolite way that he had talked to a supervisor and they said there was nothing they could do..... Would have been fine if it actually came from a supervisor and not so damn rude when I was nothing but nice! :/

Send a free email advising me that if we do not ha...

Send a free email advising me that if we do not have communication by "date *" then there will be a $15 fee to mail the disconnection notice. After all $15 is an excessive fee to charge for an automatically generated letter. I spoke with Sean/Shawn and he was unable to accept immediate payment in full via credit card citing "privacy laws". Sean also conveyed that the website will not accept credit card payment either. So when cash is tight your unethical business practice adds on a $15 fee (that makes my $
problem worse) and because cash is tight I have to use credit card but that isn't accepted thus forcing me to go to the bank for cash advance. Cash advance costs me more charges plus more interest (that makes my $ problem further worsened). I know I'm behind and that is MY fault. But the extra fees feel like Enmax is kicking me further whilst I'm already down. I am equally behind on all my other utilities and services. I have a couple bills that are a full month more behind than Enmax. Yet Enmax is the only company that kicked me further with that $15 cost for a threat letter. I have a decade long history. I have paid tens of thousands of dollars and always caught the bill up. Fortunately I have credit cards to fall back on in hardship. Many less fortunate don't and especially for those disabled, fixed income, sick, etc without credit recourse your businesses practice is totally unethical. You already charge a late fee but then to extort $15 for a stamp just because you can. Not only are you the only company to choose to kick the poor whilst they are down but every other company I called to deal with my accounts arrears happily accepted my credit card not only providing me great convenience but also saving me the bank trip and cash advance fees/interest I must incur now. So unethical... I can't find one positive thing to say other than at least I could understand Sean's english after waiting 25 minutes just to talk to a representative (also unacceptable hold time). Complete fail, so much room for improvement if you really cared to as the survey indicated. I'll watch for credit card payment online, I'll see if you adopt the free email warning of the upcoming $15 threat letter fee... That would be actual tangible ways that ever single customer would agree would add benefit and convenience. Sadly however I hypothesise you don't care about my/our experience and that these recommendations will not see implementation. Perhaps my posting this review/recommendation/commentary in a more public forum (Google reviews, Facebook, Yelp, etc) might help encourage positive change regarding Enmax's lack of ethics, care, or even willingness to simply and graciously accept a credit card payment at least on the website. Particularly if the "privacy laws" (Enmax Rep Sean's info/words) forbid credit card payment via telephone. What is Sean even talking about privacy laws. Any pizza or Chinese food delivery place can accept a credit card? Are they all breaking privacy laws? Doubtful, more likely Enmax knows we are forced to pay and could not be bothered to provide any convenience in terms of payment method. Enmax simply doesn't care or they would catch up to the rest of the modern world and provide this simple, easily accessible service that 99% of the restaurant industry does provide over the phone and the entire online ecommerce industry and entire online world obviously and easily provides. We will see if Enmax cares, please Enmax I encourage you to govern yourself accordingly. These are your policies/business ethics... you asked for advise on how you could improve. I can't believe I need to convey these simple changes that would illustrate instant benefit to every Enmax customer, really it seems so obvious doesn't it? I strangely look forward to my upcoming disappointment from lack of care/implementation of these simple recommendations, merely so I may say I told you so. We will see...
