In the past it was very busy on Saturday. Now there was hardly anyone. This is not due to the supply but to the absurdly high prices of ceramics in particular. This new policy could cost them the head. In the accompanying nice but now almost empty restaurant the prices are much too low for the excellent offer. However, here too a drawback: forbidden for dogs. Strange business in this wooded hiking area. Tip: Change your policy and it will be just as busy and cozy as before.

I love this place! Great things at low prices in the beautiful setting of an old monastery! Definitely worth seeing.
During the advent season there is an additional advent exhibition, which can be reached by walking through long old corridors where singing can be heard ... simply beautiful!

Fun

I have been coming to Emmaus Tegelen from day one. I remember well that after the opening, the newspaper said that Emmaus had made thousands of euros in the first week from the massive influx. In those early days, it was even necessary to have several cash registers in both departments, it was that busy. And now? The 2 volunteers at the only counter are hanging around bored. Every now and then someone comes to pay. I myself visit more often, but almost never buy anything again, unlike in the past. That has everything to do with the pricing policy. Emmaus thinks it has become a classy antique shop and has raised prices accordingly. As a connoisseur I dare to say that the prices are as expensive as in the antique shop and certainly a lot higher than on the internet. Isn't Emmaus completely wrong here? They get everything for nothing and free, right? Then why sell so expensive? There are now racks full of unsaleable expensive items, some items have even been there for years. Jan met de Pet walks past this, shaking his head, looking in vain for the bargains. I know that several people have already indicated this to the management, including volunteers. But nothing changes. They adhere to this nonsensical policy. For that reason, I don't bring any more stuff and give it away to other charities. Hopefully they will soon repent and bring back the success of the early year.

I only regret that they are getting more and more expensive in the store. Have been coming there for years but often see things that are cheaper at the regular store. Furthermore, always fun to browse around.

Super nice location and genuinely friendly staff. However, prices of (mainly) vintage items are excessive. Are prices being charged that they would normally ask on a flea market? Some things are new even cheaper.
Because of the high prices, we thought it was poor.

In itself nice but we wanted to look outside the monastery but we were rather unfriendly requested to just go and see the Emaus store or go away by someone who was busy outside. Tjee that could also have been nicer. Bit of a damper on the Saturday. Probably bumped into Tegelen's most shaggy task hit, bad luck. Lots of stuff, you can just look around for 1 or 2 hours. Prices are slightly higher than the average cycle, but we usually deliver, although nuffelen is always fun again. People inside friendly. Swalmen is nicer we thought, this one is bigger. Restaurant not visited.

This is a very nice location for a cycle. Is located in the old stables of the monastery. The space above is particularly beautiful and impressive. All items are displayed very clearly. It looks perfectly groomed. You can also drink a delicious cup of coffee with fresh apple pie. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Nice to see

I occasionally go to their thrift store.
It is more than that. It is a broad social organization.
I have been told that they have a new restaurant / eatery where you can relax. They also sell home-grown vegetables and home-made jams and the like.
You can drop off your used items or have them collected.

Huge second hand loading. The offer is unbelievably big. Here you can browse for hours. Here you will definitely find something after you had not searched. It was not so crowded, you could stop anywhere and look at the things. Staff is friendly. Unfortunately, it is only open two days a week.

Hello Im a student of Fontys who likes your place since years and also was supporting everthing you did. I will now fight against you and use all my public relations and contacts to show people the truth about Emmaus Fenninks. Yesterday a friend and me made a forestrun to train for Venloop, he fall and needed som water to clean his wound and also we were pretty done after running 12 km. Anyway we justed asked for a small bit of water and the woman at the gate made fun about us and our outfit. I mean she certainly didnt had a higher education or could talk english with us. It was really hurting that somebody who is part of a christian organisation acts like this. Hurting for my heart. She sad normal people go to Plus. I will not stop sharing this, stand myself next saturday infront of your pseudo social place and tell the people the truth.

On this sunny Saturday we went for a drink at Emmaus restaurant. Because the coffee machine was broken they only had filter coffee. But this one tasted great. Fortunately they had milk cups. The Limburg pastry was also good. I choose from 3 types including rice flan. Was a bit on the wet side but they can't help it. Also visited the store. Now that the Saturday is already open at 10 o'clock, I will go there more often. Everything is sorted clean and well-arranged. You can pay with the pin. have plenty of room and nice stuff. I watched for 2 hours. If I compare them with other stores in Venlo, they are in 1st place.

Very nice location .... only the prices compared to other thrift stores are slightly on the high side .... but we still had the trunk half full !! They don't sell junk, so maybe the prices are slightly higher !!

Years ago started well .. still good target .. only the prices for a second hand store start to get a Hollywood-like image. It must, however, remain affordable for people who have a financial loss. That is not always the case now. Adjust that something then it remains fun ..

It is so wonderful to stay here! The gigantic garden, the fields and forests around it, the former monastery itself and of course the magical thrift shop! Do yourself a favor and visit Emmaus Phoenix and ask for Lars: he always gives great discounts!

Under new management . More expensive , less flair, no vegetables anymore . Very strange ownership concept now, all a bit hazy . The people who started the project have departed and seem to have left a huge void.

I have to adjust my review from a year ago. Much has changed here in a positive way. The prices have been adjusted and the rules below have disappeared. The staff is friendly. Today visited the Christmas department, was nicely set up and well worth it.

Review years ago:
Recycle that in particular has a nice assortment of glassware and crockery. The prices are so high that I always go outside without buying. Rules that are hung with "negotiation is not possible" and "demolition is buying" are not customer-friendly. With the Emmaus store in Swalmen I have much better experiences in terms of price and customer friendliness!

Why is there nowhere to find an answer from the leadership of Emmaus Tegelen on the negative reviews and, in my opinion, justification of the price policy? You would adorn it when you let yourself be heard. I still like to come to you in the silent hope to find something affordable every now and then. Sometimes I sometimes buy something for 5 or 10 euros. Whereas in the past I regularly bought for 100 or 200 euros. Now explain this: you get the stuff for nothing. Option 1: you sell it very expensive and catch 10 euros from me. Cash register katsjinggggg 10 euros inside for Emmaus. Possibility 2:. You adjust the prices and the flow of goods is a lot bigger. I buy for 100 euros. Cash register katsjinggggg, 100 euro for Emmaus. What is the reason that you do not see this? Give an answer!
