Let's start off by saying my family loves Emerald Pointe. We take my son there often and we have an amazing time. Rides are fun, plenty of seating, crowds aren't obnoxious. I don't agree with the height requirements for some of the rides but I get the safety issue. My 6 year old is an excellent swimmer and is capable of going on most of the rides. I understand that the height requirements are generalized so we follow the rules. HOWEVER, this last time my family went...WE HAD SERIOUS ISSUES WITH (lifeguard) ALISSA!!!! We watched her let children go down rides who were definitely under the height requirements. She didn't even try to check height and it made us (especially my son) very unhappy. We let it go but then when I went down a ride later in the day, and she was there. I had a tight tank over my suit to cover what the good Lord gave me, but when I lined up to go down the ride she told me I had to take it off. I was very uncomfortable with that and tried to understand why I had to take it off. I ultimately decided I was too uncomfortable with it and left. No big deal...THEN my husband tells me that Alissa let a woman down the ride who was wearing a shirt way too big and another woman who was wearing a bathing suit cover! I did not appreciate the inconsistency and I felt singled out...that may not have been her intention but I was embarrassed the rest of the day. We will come back to Emerald Pointe but if I see Alissa...I'll be turning the other way.

the line for the rides is so long, the food is very expensive, lockers are expensive and small as well.
Restrooms need to be clean more often and need to be remodeled or clean with bleach the night before reopening the park the next day, it was 10 am park doors were just opening and the restrooms were so so dirty and no toilet paper on it. Stalls are yellow and showers look very bad maintenance.
This is the 4 th year I buy the season pass and I think I will not buy it any more because of this issues..
If the restrooms and showers are dirty I don t want to imagine the water from the pool.. Does this water ever get changed?

Let's start with the positive. The chicken strips were good. It took me three tries to enter the park. First, the season pass plus one admission aren't good on the weekends. That's hidden somewhere on there website, it took the girls at the counter five minutes just to (argumentstively) show me that. Then, when I bought a second ticket and tried to enter, my season pass hadn't been activated yet. So there is no point to buying them online. The third time was after I bought a second ticket after the young lady at the counter gave me a phone number to call to refund my season pass. It was a debacle. Also, don't bother showing up when they open, not much will be open on the inside. 11:00 is when the good stuff opens. There was also no baby changing station at the restroom I went to. That blew my mind. I was very disappointed at the season pass policy, the behavior of the girls at the counter, and the overall facilities.

The park is clean. Entrance is clean as well. The parking is $10.00 and VIP parking is $14.00. Food is pretty cheap and you can't take in a cooler. The cooler storage is $5.00. The park overall is very fun to be whether your a parent with your kid or its you and your wife. Lots to do at this park.

Fair to say that if you come on a weekend, it will be very very busy. We spent 30-60 minutes in lines for some slides and maybe 30-45min in line for a restaurant that was set up to be a la carte, so not sure why everything took so long. I wish I had known about the cooler and basket check-in at the picnic area outside the gate before I came, otherwise I would have prepared food beforehand and saved the time in line and kept from paying the high price for food in the park.

This is still a high star review, because the park really is the best waterpark in NC. The slides are a combination of older ones from my childhood and new ones which are just as exciting. Slide rating systems do a great job of letting you know what the slide experience will be like. The landscaping and general atmosphere make every path interesting and beautiful. The park has also really embraced a waterpark experience beyond just the waterslide, so you can immediately cool off in the wave pool or other free swim areas. However you like to enjoy the water, you'll find it here.

The locker system where you can keep opening the locker over and over is such an improvement to the old quarters and keys system. I thought I would hold onto flip flops to use between attractions, but abandoned them and went barefoot a couple of hours in. Managing sunglasses was also awkward, I can only imagine how many lost pairs they find each day. Although I didn't use them, life jackets are available in multiple sizes for all ages for free.

When I was a kid, I visit Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe. I enjoyed the Thunder Bay Wave Pool (a very intense wave pool), Happy Harbor, and Splash Island. It was fun! In 2011, I came back there for more fun! This water park needs to be bigger so it will include a a WhiteWater Giant RainFortress, a second, gentle wave pool, a ProSlide Mammoth waterslide, a WhiteWater AquaLoop waterslide, and a ProSlide Dark WorldAlley waterslide with a Dark BehemothBowl combined with a DarkTornado with LED lights.

Water parks are a tough business. They have to keep people entertained and also alive from their own misjudgments. I don't envy the management. However, I found issues with this place. Charging $10 to park when no one directs traffic and you don't have enough spaces is bad. You can't even leave and return without buying another parking ticket! You can't carry coolers in, which I understand, but they'll store them for you outside the park, for a fee, but the gate people were so overwhelmed that things do "slip" in. The park is no smoking, yet vaping was commonly seen and at least one traditional smoker inside. Chairs filled up by the second hour of operation but they do reserve private cabanas for an upcharge. Some attractions don't open until an hour after the park opens. One employee at a closed food station didn't know what time the station opened. So come early for adecent parking space and chair. Be prepared to wait for food and some attractions. I attended on the second day of the summer so I hope they can get their act together soon. I doubt I'll return to find out if they did.

It was nice, my only issue was the waiting. I got there early and it was fine but once It hit like 12pm and onward the waiting was like 30+ minutes for a slide that would be 50 seconds of twists and turns. I did enjoy it but i hated the waiting. I also got really sunburnt and I wore sunblock :/

As any amusement type place, it is quite expensive, admission, food and water. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The park and restrooms are kept clean! We have visited several water parks on the east coast, this one seems smaller with fewer rides but still a nice place to visit.

It's a fun water park. They could do better with up keep ( pressure washing, sweeping and blowing), however, it has been raining nearly every day so it's likely difficult to get the housekeeping done. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and a 4 star rating. Our kids had a really fun time on the different slides and splash features. There's a nice diversity of slides, wave pools, lazy river, pools, and I think 3 different splash features. Lots of young employees - would've liked to see a few more older supervisors but all went smoothly though it wasn't particularly crowded with light rain the day we attended. You're kids will have a very good time here!

I was impressed with all the different and various attractions. There was a lot of places to sit during times of not wanting 2 do anything. very scenic surroundings, Park is well kept and clean. Lifeguards and staff are polite and friendly and very accommodating. Lots of things to do rather you're an adult or child or just want to sit around and relax. The park had places to rent for your coolers and your belongings. There were also places to have a picnic lunch some areas had a umbrella others didn't. Overall this is a very nice Park 2 visit and to enjoy with your family

Nice get away from Charlotte for a day...nothing against Carowinds but we find emerald point a little less crowded..although it's "Summer" everywhere is crowded.
Prices are high so we eat before we come and but refillable cups and drink all day.
We come a couple times a summer...and the place is clean and like any other park as far as the workers go.
Not a bad place to spend a summer day.

You can park on the grass for 0 parking fee. You can even go out for some good and cheap lunch. The lunch inside is not good enough and its small and expensive. The locker however is recommended if all of you guys want to play with their attractions like water slide. Don t bring food coz they sometimes check bag (mainly the men s bags).

Even though I checked the weather there still was a storm that rolled in that halted everyone's fun. The reason for four stars was because of price and instructions were not clear about the weather situation which lead multiple people searching for answers.

One thing people have to realize that any amusement park that you go to is going to be expensive. Yes you have to pay money. Simple as that. I do appreciate the fact that for my two smaller children (under 2) they allowed me to bring my snacks and formula for my baby inside the park. My only down fall is I wish they had more spots for you to cool off at and be able to get out of the hot sun. I couldn't get in the water as much as I would have liked to but that's because of my little ones. My godchildren who are partially teenagers loved the park. But when I did get a chance to get in that wave pool awesome. I could stay in that all day. Excellent park, great things for everyone to do.

Beautiful July day today. Cool water... I have to say it's been 20 years, and Emerald Pointe is still an incredible place. In college, my wife and I had season passes. The wave pool was in itself worth the cost of admission. Today I took my three daughters with us from Raleigh. Slathered ourselves in sunscreen and had a marvelous time.

Yeah, it's a little pricey from a cashflow perspective... But a 90 minute movie is what, $10.50 now? That's $7 an hour you're paying to be entertained. Emerald Pointe was open 8 hours today... 8 hours of movie-going is going to cost you a minimum of $56 per person.

Find a coupon online for a $26 day pass, add $7 for parking and $5 to store your cooler because you packed your own lunch (you're frugal that way because you KNOW amusement park food anywhere is too expensive)... and you've just saved yourself quite a bit of money of a good solid 8 hours of quality entertainment.

Only partially open. Many rides being cleaned. Not sure if it's opening weekend or weather related. Food and drink prices are way too high. I understand the business of entertainment and have high tolerances for food prices in that setting, but their prices are almost twice what I consider reasonable for an amusement park.
I expect Wet and Wild is much better once they are fully open.
