Good food, small drink menu...a bit disappointed that they would send out over cooked veal (server even knew it was over cooked but brought it anyway) but they did take care of it right away

Excellent !

After a long day at the arts festival on magnolia, I got in to an argument with my girlfriend about what to eat. I asked what she wanted and she told me she didn't care. This was BS though because what ever I offered was met with "eeeeh, I don't want that." And then I saw ellerbes and we decided to try it out. Looked at the prices and thought to myself "she better like this food and eat every bit of it." She got the quail and I got some Alaskan fish. My meal was amazing. She described her meal as being just "tiny chickens." One deep inhale and quick exhale later, I realized I'll have a stroke one day because of this woman but the "tiny chickens" filled her up until the next days food argument so I guess it was worth it. Their menu changes seasonally so just a heads up.

Best overall dinner experience that I've had in many years. The food was amazing, our waiter was perfect and the ambience is classic.
We shared the fried oyster appetizer and all four of us raved. My wife had the cauliflower soup which was extraordinary while the rest of us enjoyed our salads. My Redfish was tantalizing and I devoured it in minutes while the Duck was a big hit with the wife. The waiter was knowledgeable, likeable and had helpful opinions which I always appreciate. I will make this a regular rotation going forward.

Quite possibly the best restaurant in Fort Worth. Wonderful fresh food paired with a great wine selection. Management and staff are really nice. Definitely add this to your list of you have not been.

We went to celebrate our son's birthday, and it was a wonderful dining experience. What made it so delightful, in addition to the delicious food, was our waiter Scott. He provided excellent service, great advice on menu selections, and we enjoyed his repartee. We will definitely be returning to the restaurant another time.

Mind blowing. Farmers market to fork. Our server Scott had a working knowledge of everything the restaurant sold. He was personable nearly (but not) to a fault. I cannot wait to return. The two of us ordered the bison carpaccio, marscopone toast w/ prociutto, bone-in lamb sirloin (a pleasing portion), the water buffalo. For dessert: rosewater/honey anglaise raspberry meringue thingy and the bread pudding. Scott picked out the perfect pairings for us at each course (OK we only got two glasses each, no dessert pairing). Spent about 150. I'm gonna be inventing special occasions just to go here every week.

What a wonderful & delightful evening. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. Kimberly decribed the dishes to the point that we could taste them. Her help choosing a wine was greatly appreciated. This was our first time and want others to know what great food and service you offer at Ellerbe. 5 stars all the way.

A really wonderful and Inventive dining experience in an old gas station. Do not let the outside impact what you are going to experience. The food is inventive with use of fresh local ingredients and with an always changing menu. I enjoyed the Heirloom tomatoes with Hushpuppies and Pea Shoot Risotto. Both well proper portioned and we re perfectly prepared. Several rooms allow for a fairly quiet environment and outdoor tables are available. Give this a try if you looking for an interesting dining experience.

This is a surprising little gem of a place; the exterior belies the charm and excellent food inside. Lunch and dinner menus are different. I had the Crawfish po-boy for lunch and it was outstanding. Superior table service. We'll be back!

Where to start...five stars for the service, food, wine and ambiance. Such a great experience. We loved our server, Joe. He was very knowledgeable and had the best attitude, he was quite possibly the best server we have ever had. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our favorite thing was the octopus salad. Overall we couldn t recommend this place enough.

Always an exquisite dining experience! The food is indeed fine, the staff is helpful and friendly if not downright playful. Don't skip the bread pudding or the chocolate molten cake or whatever other delectable treats are on the dessert menu. Treat your server extra special and you might get more than one of the tiny parting gift cookies!

I am an AV guy from Louisiana and I haven't eaten here...but I have set up here more than once and I have noticed on every occasion they do things right. As a Louisianian, the decor is authentic. I first realized this when I saw the blue dog on the back wall.

The have hundreds of wine options.

Their service staff us ultra nice. One of service staff has resting-condescending-face but don't let that fool you. He seemed very attuned to what his customers needed and was very polite.

The manager seems to operate with a what-can-I do for you attitude.

Cannot comment on food because I didn't have any.

Came here for the first time last Saturday night. It was special since I was proposing to my girlfriend afterwards. Food was perfect! Our waiter explained everything on the menu and how it was prepared. Everything from the appetizer to the main course was great. I got the steak and she got the quail. We will be returning for sure.

Food was good but I guess I was just expecting more after hearing so much praise. The escargot had a much earthier flavor than I'm used to (I don't eat it all the time, but enough that I could definitely tell a difference). Our waitress was very nice and they added a candle to our dessert as it was my birthday. I don't expect a nice restaurant to comp the dessert, but do wish we'd known that adding one single scoop of ice cream to our bread pudding would've turned the $8 dish to $13...$5 seems a little excessive for a la mode but that's just me.

Fantastic meal, great experienced server named Scot, and would recommend Ellerbe for any special night or a night you want to transcend mediocrity. It's a farm to table restaurant meaning the menu changes along with the season, so be sure to check the menu beforehand. We started off with calamari and melted pimento cheese toast appetizers. The calamari was not fried, it was cooked but served chilled with a delicate tangy sauce and a small bed of kale. I loved it but my lady prefers the more common fried versions of the dish. The pimento cheese toast was gooey deliciousness, also served on some with some kale and a light but slightly different sauce. For the main dishes the lady had the halibut and I had the lamb chops. The halibut was very good, clean, healthy and served with some peas. They did the best possible to make something boring pretty tasty. However, my lamb stole the show. It was the best lamb I have ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection, with a delicious seared crust that created an amazing flavor. It was served on a bed of fennel which I don't ordinarily like. However, even the fennel was scrumptious. We couldn't agree on a dessert and really weren't that impressed with the offerings. I'm more of a chocolate cake guy and the lady only likes tiramisu, neither of which were options on the night. Will go back when we are ready to treat our selves again.

One of the most enjoyable evenings we have had in Fort Worth. Lovely setting, outstanding service, and delicious food. We had a large group and sampled many things on the fresh, seasonal, locally sourced menu. My Carpaccio was some of the best I ve ever had. Other highlights were the pork chop oozing with pimento cheese and the quail with lemon kissed risotto. Will definitely be returning. Thanks to our waiter Jose for taking such good care of us.

Ellerbes is a step above. This unassuming restaurant looks to be in an old gas station but the quality of the food and the knowledge of the staff is almost unmatched in Fort Worth. My wife and I really enjoy the seasonal food selections as well as the extensive wine list. The price is a little above our usual night out but the food is worth every penny. For your next special occasion or just because its Thursday, head to Ellerbes for a very memorable meal.

Without a doubt the best place to eat on Magnolia. No place else even comes close.
Ellerbe s truly understands quality food and quality service. The menu has so much thought put behind it, and the staff are incredibly professional. I ve recommended this restaurant to everyone I can.
Looking forward to the next time!

We took friends that had never been. Patio was great! Ambience was great! Food was good. Service was poor. We waited 15 minutes after seating to get water or contact with wait person and it was not very crowded. We ordered a second glass of wine, waited 20 minutes as waiter forgot. Empty water glasses, waited another 20 minutes. This was definitely not the norm but we were embarrassed since we had taken our friends.

From the comprehensive wine list to the delightful fare, the meal was thoroughly enjoyable. Laura, our waiter, was extremely attentive and had great suggestions to accommodate everyone at the table. The burgundy escargot was a particular favorite. Highly recommend.

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA... so I definitely appreciate the Louisiana dishes that Ellerbe often has on their menu. They always execute the dishes to perfections! The service has always been professional and attentive, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere!

Nice place. Convenient location. Staff attentive. Seafood menu very limited. Sea Bass plate is delicious but the portion too small for the price Menu found confusing with mixture of French and Spanish. Don t look for other varieties of seafoods and don t bring BD cake in for you will be charged the cutting fee. Good outing experience if you don t care about spending $$$$. Fascinating list of wines for wine lover. I would be back on occasional basis

Over priced, pretentious, and mediocre. Steak was chewy and not a very good cut, certainly not worth $30, though the au gratin was very tasty. There are too many great meals that cost less to justify a return visit.

Delicious fresh food with a fine dining style with a casual atmosphere! The steak was amazing and their house made ice cream with bread pudding was to die for!! A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny and very high quality with excellent service

So good! The food is top of the line and the wine selection is very extensive. I highly recommend the lamb chops and chefs steak. By far the best two dishes on the menu. And service is so attentive. They know you are there to eat good and treat you like it. The staff is knowledgeable of the menu and able to make great suggestions for food and wine. If you are looking for elegant menu in a slightly casual setting this is your place.

This is a favorite of ours. The menu rotates with the seasons and there are always special dishes based on what super fresh ingredients the chef finds. The chef is fantastic. She comes up with unexpected flavor combinations that actually work. Unlike many of the other higher end restaurants in town Ellerbe has pretty generous portions on the proteins. The could definitely give you soat part of town.me more veg though. The wine list is really good, with tons of variety. They have free valet parking, which is a plus in th

Absolutely amazing experience! It was my first time at Ellerbees and definitely will not be my last. I had the fan favorite fried okra with homemade ranch. The okra was flash fried in cornmeal. Very different and excellent. There was none of the slimy texture I associate with okra. The waiter Scott sold me on the entire appetizer and entree menu. After much deliberation I got the gulf shrimp and rabbit crepes. As much as the shrimp were cooked to perfection, my favorite part of the dish was the zucchini and cheese 'salad' on the bottom. A perfect summer appetizer. The rabbit crepes were perfection. Slow cooked for over 3 hours made the rabbit almost melt in your mouth. The cheese and crepes were an excellent addition. I truly can't wait to get back to this restaurant.

Everything was delicious, but the trout was out of this world. I don't know everything that was in the sauce but the addition of tiny pieces of grapefruit was perfect. My wife and I also got hooked on the dulce de leche cookies. We've placed a couple of to-go orders for the cookies since then.

The premier "farm to table" fine dining destination in Texas. Perfect for an elegant lunch, special occasion, or anytime, really. Thoughtful southern/Cajun inspired menu that changes seasonally and always satisfies. Staff and service is always warm and professional. Soups are outstanding, especially the gumbo. Mains are portioned generously and seasonally appropriate. Don't skip dessert! Get the bread pudding. The wine selection compliments the food perfectly, is eclectic but accessable, and very reasonably priced. They also sell hard to find and small production wines at retail prices to go. Looking for a special bottle? Just ask and they can probably make it happen. I can't recommend this place enough.

A very great and memorable dining experience. Our table shared four different entrees (red fish, duck, ravolloi). What I appreciated most was how the sauces did not overpower but complemented and enhanced each main entree. Yet we liked the sauce so much we made sure that the dishes were clean. The taste made you slow down to savor the blend. We were treated like guest by our waiter, Scott. The venue further reflected the food, it allowed for a nice view of the street yet tuck away to enjoy our dinner. Very unique inviting repurposed building.

The severs make amazing wine recommendations. We had the lightly fried and charcuterie for appetizers and they were so great! Also, props to their classic bread, butter, and salt. I had the steak, which is their classic for a reason. It was served with faro, which was cooked like a risotto, that I would die for. I cannot wait to return!

Y'all I am southern girl true and through so I will always be skeptical of southern fare and cajun cuisine. Well I should just shutup right now because this was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The flash fried okra was a really cool twist on a classic and the service was prompt and exemplary. Kudos on a great exerience I can't wait to go back. They had a couple really cool options for my friend as well since she is vegetarian. What a cute spot , it definitely has a really cool art deco look. You could totally have a fun Gatsby theme party here.

Wow times infinity for this farm to table dining experience! We had a group of 20+ people for a private party that was quite amazing from start to finish. The staff handling the dinner went above and beyond providing excellent wine choices, moving tables around to keep guests comfortable, to expert advice on entree selection. Not one person was disappointed by their food throughout the entire meal-- which is impressive considering lamb is very difficult to get cooked well. I ordered it and can tell you to not fear, the NZ delicacy's cookery was perfection. I would go again to this restaurant in a heart beat when I return to Ft Worth!!

In what used to be a gas station, an unlikely location. Bright, well-designed interior contribute to the restaurant's good feeling. If you can stand the heat, you also can eat outside where gas tanks once were. The menu is heavily farm-to-table. Food was served hot, well-plated and well-paced.

I've been here a few times in the last several years and the food is always outstanding. This even goes for the pork belly I once ordered here. Great service but you should always make a reservation on the weekends. They also have a very open yet covered area for eating outside during nice weather evenings.

Insider Info: The area can get busy on the weekends and there's very little parking available. They have valets at the front. Use them.

The food was very good and clearly fresh. Since they source locally they may run out of some things that are on the menu. Definitely call before you make a reservation to ensure they have the dish you want. The service was great but the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. It is also a little overpriced. That said it's definitely a must try.
