I like this movie theater. get your own drinks, butter your own popcorn, not usually very crowded. The employees have a laid back attitude and arent very quick, but thats not really that big of a problem. Plenty of parking. There is a trampoline park in there too, but I have never been in there, it doesnt get in the way.

This is the most terrible experience I ever had. We purchase our tickets 1:27pm and the movies start at 1:20pm. We was sitting there for 30 minutes before the movies start playing. I'm so disappointed
I've been to this theater for the 3rd and final time. It is filthy and has an unclean smell. The five dollar ticket price is not attractive enough to bring me back. I actually wondered if they have bedbugs !!
Can't beat 5 dollar movies and they sell beer and wine. The audience can be a little ratchet and talk through the movie or someone will bring thier baby which cheapens the movie. the staff can't be blamed for that but it is what it is
The picture and seats were fine, but the sound was turned up way to loud and I had to cover my ears the whole time. Even while covering my ears, they were ringing after I left.
My daughter had just accepted a job with the Montana House of Representatives. Yeah I must say that I enjoyed myself very much with my daughter and my wife since she's from Montana and was visiting for 11 days. I noticed that the crowd was a mixed culture there were Caucasian there also black Americans veterans police real police. I felt safe and secure but the price is a bit stiff but I guess you get what you pay for. I will definitely recommend that you bring your family here and it is a safe atmosphere. I really enjoyed myself. The customer service was friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. There was also tables with some of the seats In order for couples to have a seat and eat while they watch the movie. I don't know many other movie theaters that have this type of setup. I highly recommend that you bring your family to this theater and that you will be safe and secure and the crowd was very mature. My daughter is interracial and the crowd was a mixture of black Americans caucasians and Hispanics. There were also veterans that were there as well and very nice police staff once again real police staff. From Birmingham
1st time back to this theater in almost 10 years Friday May 31st 2019.
Daughter took me to see "MA" 7:30pm movie. Didn't know this was baby sitting hours. I'm a black 53 year old mother grandmother this summer and never seen nor experienced anything like this Bunch of unsupervised DISRESPECTFUL UNDISCIPLINED LOUD RUDE CURSING OUT POLICE WOULDN'T SHUT UP BLACK teenage CHILDREN THAT had to be forced out by the police during the movie (A WHOLE 4 ROWS OF THEM). Couldn't enjoy the movie because the police had to several times walking up and down the isle threatening them and some grown ones too to shut up or else be thrown out before they finally got kicked out and the ENTIRE THEATER BROKE OUT WITH LOUD CLAPPING in appreciation missing an entire scene
I will need to see the movie "MA" again in peace but just not at the Edge after 5pm or before 9pm EVER AGAIN LOVED the popcorn and slush with free cotton candy or cookie dough others were complaining about the slush not being cold or slushy enough which Management was going to sale anymore of but we asked and reassured them we just fine with the way it was which was AWESOME and just right!
The staff was super respectful with great customer service and very clean throughout, but those children Father help them and whose NOT raising them in JESUS NAME AMEN
The seats aren't the most comfortable, but they're fine, and the theater usually has great deals on tickets. The Staff has always been very friendly to me as well.
Prompt service theater seating area is clean and the restroom is clean also. I love the fact that I get to see new movies for $5 so its a great value! I will be heading back that way anytime I'm interested in a movie!
I've been good with this theater in the past. However, it has gone down in quality, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. Some seats are broken and several of the monitors outside of each theater are not functioning. We went to a showing and 30 minutes after the original showtime we were told that the projector was not working and we would need to get a refund, pass for another show or wait for the next showing on a different screen. It took is 4 hours to see a 90 minute movie. Not a fault of the theater, but the neighborhood is a little sketchy and some of the clientele follow.
Used to love this place, but had to leave and get a refund when we went to see Rogue One, because the screen was so dim that you could barely see the movie. Was told by an assistant manner that the general manager refuses to pay for new projector bulbs, and they have this problem on all of their screens. As a projectionist of almost fifteen years, I find this completely egregious.
In this day and age, a theater which charges prices comparable to those of premium theaters in the area and actually lacks digital projection or decent sound is unthinkable. The video quality was abysmal and dark - my first impression was that they were playing a bootlegged copy on their projector which they downloaded off the internet. With the audio which kept dropping in volume I was almost sure that the copy was bootlegged. Their screens are small, and the only saving face is probably free popcorn.
I went there for a movie which they were showing according to their webpage. My friend went there on the day they were supposed to start screening only to be told that they would start screening it the following day. I went there with this information the following day hoping to watch that particular movie only to find out that they didn't have the movie yet and didn't know when they would be getting it, while their webpage continued to show it in their listings.
This is just horrible regard to the customer while providing a subpar experience. Folks who said that they had big screens or this was the best theater in B'ham must either be owners/employees/paid reviews or must have never been to Rave, or Carmike in the area. None of the other 5 star reviews even remotely mention the horrible, dark video quality and the awful sound (which kept dropping without notice), instead everybody keeps mentioning the beverages and free pop corn. Come on people, a theater is not about drinking soda, its about watching a movie. If the projector and audio are awful, that purpose is being defeated !! I could've had a better experience watching the movie on a home theater system.
Even the $1 theater on Lorna has a better value for money than this, AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!
Edge 12 is a solid theater in the Birmingham area. Tickets are a reasonable price, especially if you are a student or military. Prices for snacks and drinks are pretty average, but the large pop corn does get you unlimited refills if it wasn't massive enough for you. You can also get refills on your drinks since you help yourself. Our showing started at 9:45 and I typically show up 10 minutes late to miss out on part of the trailers. When I showed up 10 minutes late the movie had just started. So very little advertising is done which is nice. The seats were comfortable as well. I did notice hearing occasional sounds from other films playing in neighboring theaters. It did not bother me that much. All said and done, this is an above average theater.
We just came to see Into the Spiderverse and had to leave an hour in because my five year old got overwhelmed by the fight scenes. We explained the situation to see if we could switch movies and the staff was super understanding and gave us passes. I really appreciate it, I would definitely recommend them and I plan to start coming here for all my movie viewing.
At first I wanted to rant about this place but to be honest it's a movie theater where all the shows are $5. Considering that, the place is clean and the picture and sound quality is decent. There's supposed to be a trampoline park here as well but I am not sure where it is nor do I know about it as I didn't see it. The place is a hotspot for teenagers so if you want to movie going experience with not so much talking he may need to make your way to Hoover. As to be expected the food was expensive I spent $22 in all. The ticket was ten for both my wife and I, small popcorn and bottled water was $12. Overall I can't give this place a bad rating. My son had fun my wife and I had fun, maybe not totally deserving of four stars but I feel that for what it is, it's the best I've ever seen.
The last time I was here it was an awful, teenagers were loud, on cell phones, running in and out. Several adults just got up and left. I'm hoping that this will be a better experience. If not I'm not coming back.
Sometimes it is ok. It probably depends on the movie and the crowd it draws, but it was damn near impossible to enjoy the movie tonight because of the audience. Several different on going conversations, cellphones going off, using cell phones. Very disrespectful.
I love these guys. The chairs are incredibly comfortable, and many have a nice table to set food and drinks on. They also serve beer and wine. Some of my friends were doubtful about the area because of the way it was a few years ago, but that has changed significantly now.
This is a great theatre! It is clean and prices are reasonable for a movie these days. The best part about it is because they still use film. Digital Projection is amazing but there is something about film that makes a movie. I think alot of people these days miss that part of going to the movie because they are caught up in the digital projection era. I hope they continue to use film and I will gladly pay the price of admission to see a good movie in film plus good staff and food you can't get much better.
The young man at the cashier was rude Not good customer service skills at all . He just walked off while we were ordering, he had ran out of paper on his receipt machine, but instead of saying he'll be right back he had to get some more paper he just walked off !
We drive 40 minutes just to get out and do something fun! This place is a steal... $5 tickets, game room and I feel safe. I noticed that a few ppl complain about teens causing trouble, that has never been a problem for us. Police department is there on weekends, just in case, and if you have any issues, just go another day or time. The ppl are nice too! I'm sure it could be cleaned up better but it's not an issue. I'd say definitely go! The kids will have fun and be safe.
Great place. Great prices. Great service. The only movie theater I have frequented for the last 10 years. Would highly recommend. Definitely a staple in the city of Birmingham.
To just be away from home and enjoying the change of scenery is a rewarding experience. The Theater is a nice clean and relaxing place. It does not really matter what is on the big screen.Although what is showing is the main reason for going.
