I was an international airline steward for 30 years and stayed in 5 star hotels during my working career. Now in retirement, The Jerusalem Hotel was one of my most memorable hotel stays. Not the glitzy, plastic feel that most modern hotels portray. It s a MUST STAY accommodation stop. It is a 3 minute walk from the old city and all the staff are most helpful, pleasant and flexible with one s individual needs. Excellent food in the restaurant with good size servings. I will mention that when one arrives at the front of the hotel it looks a bit bland, but walk inside and the atmosphere and decor takes you back 100 s of years. And after all, that s why you come to Jerusalem. TONY PATRICK

I could not have chosen a better hotel. True, the bathroom is small and the Wi-Fi comes and goes, but being within the stone walls in these historic rooms is great. It is three minutes from the Damascus gate, very comfortable, beautiful, super-characteristic. I loved it. Honorable mention also for the restaurant, all excellent, in a beautiful veranda. Try the lemon and mint hookah (shisha)!

Even if the room was good, I was not able to sleep because my room was near the restaurant and it was noisy. Also, the room was smelling tabacco. Speaking of the restaurant, the service was very slow but at least the food was decent.

Super nice hotel, very nice people. Very good location, not far from Damascus Gate. The breakfast is also very good and varied, there is really nothing to complain about here.

Great location. 10min walk from Damascus gate into the old City. Good service. Clean rooms. Just stay away from 3rd floor noisy bedrooms as they are all under the restaurant and breakfast area.

A beautiful hotel, centrally located, with a tasteful decor between tradition and modernity. We loved the tasteful details. If we should come to Jerusalem again, we would like to go back to this hotel!

Quite close to the Old city. Price was good. Dont expect modern equipment but its exactly what we want to try. In restaurant you need to impress staff. They are quite chaotic and not so effective. It takes a lot of time when you will get a menu. But food was ok. Dont try world cousine, but local one is good unfortunatelly more expensive than is real value.

Beautiful hotel! Really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel has lots of history as it used to be a Byzantine church, police station and school. The decoration is beyond stunning in every corner including the room, and even the bathroom! It has a good restaurant which is outside and covered in vines. Location is also perfect. Super recommended!

A convenient place to stay by the Old City, the Damascus Gate is right there. Lots of sesame bread vendors on the street outside and the Garden Tomb is also nearby. We enjoyed the hummus and hot chocolate in the restaurant downstairs and the room was cozy and quaint if not upscale. The concierge was a wonderful help to us when we needed help with our rental car and they were willing to pack a lunch for us when we left early one day.

We found the staff very friendly, the breakfast was well cared for and the food in the restaurant was also tasteful. The location of the hotel is super and the parking was also nicely arranged. Unfortunately our room (102) was very dated and renovation is necessary. The bathroom is very small, on 1 morning there was no hot water and the third bed was not sleeping. By the way, this is solved with an extra mattress and by laying some shelves underneath. If you don't have a lot of demands on your room, but if the location is important to you, this is a reasonable hotel.

Ornately decorated old school hotel close to the Old City (Damascus Gate) with rustic charm. Rooms are dark and monastic, but can become oppressive. Service is generally good. The downstairs dining area is a bit of an oasis one moment and a lively spot to gather the next.

This place is beautiful! When you walk in You feel like you're walking into a piece of history. The room was cozy and the staff personable and friendly. The shaded restaurant is a welcome relief from the summer sun. Only one block away from the Old City. I will definitely recommend staying here any time you're in Jerusalem

Incredible hotel. The building is historical yet very updated. Our room was the perfect size and was well maintained. Very clean. The details put into this place are amazing. From beautiful bed covers to the poetic writing on the wooden headboards. And if you love showers, well then be prepared for a near-spa experience. Staff is extremely generous and knows the city and main sites so well. We likely had a better Jerusalem experience simply from the knowledgeable staff s guidance. Amazing and flavorful restaurant downstairs tops it all off. Highly recommended.

This hotel is amazing! It s location is so convenient to the old city only And only a block away from the Damascus gate and just a few blocked from the New Gate. The staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant menu is delicious as well priced. They also serve breakfast daily. My room felt like I was staying is a little ancient castle! I could not asked for a better experience for my stay in Jerusalem. This place is a must stay!

I have never myself stayed at this hotel, but I heard great reviews about it with its old building and hospitable guests. This place is one of my top on the list of hotels when I want to host guests coming to Jerusalem. I really like the restaurant there located at a pleasant terrace with plants around and a small fountain. It is an excellent place to meet people, have a drink or a meal. It's also good for working with one's laptop when no live music is playing.

One of the cutest places I have ever been able to stop at. Location is great. Damascus Gate within walking distance. The food was exceptional and delicious. The rooms convey a touch of the Orient. Just wonderful.

Amazingly beautiful place, a connection between Muslim Spain and ancient Morocco. Ideal location for entry from Nablus Gate for trips in East Jerusalem. Very helpful staff. Along with that, please check the sheets cleanliness! Replaced if requested and yet there are bedbugs, I stung. Breakfast less than standard
