Since I have been doing business, I have been accounting with Snelstart. Over the last few years I have noticed that I am becoming increasingly annoyed with the package.
This started years ago with the transition to a small number of subscriptions. As an entrepreneur, I am dependent on the subscription function. Because of this, I pay the same fee that huge companies pay for the software, while I make small turnovers. In the past, I could just purchase the modules that I actually needed. Now I am obliged to pay for a range of functions that I do not really need.
Another annoyance is the web client. It seems that 'for a moment' considerable investments have been made in this. If you look at the site, you will see that the software download is not available for macOS, but that you can log in perfectly for this on the web version. However, for all components that are essential for billing, it is recommended to install the Windows version within that web version. The extra modules that I pay for are not available on the web. The promise that any other OS can use web, therefore only applies to the most basic components.
Another annoyance is the implementation of e-mail. It is possible to send invoices by e-mail. Snelstart allows you to communicate under different brands (every service has its own invoice template, own brand and own account), but not that you can set a sender address per invoice template. Weird that only a partial solution has been developed and deployed on issues such as user branding.
Overall, I also notice that the number of hours that I have to call support is really going up in the last two years. In addition, I actually do not feel that there is really development in the package. Apart from a new integration every now and then. The feeling that developers have been traded in for cent counters. Snelstart once felt nice and personal. It was the underdog compared to the Exact's of this world, where it was really about the customer and a strong product experience. What a good time it was.
