Great service. The tofu was not spectacular but it was sufficient. There aren't very many plant-based options so this isn't a recommended restaurant for me for that reason, but the drinks and waiter were phenomenal.

Had blue point oysters they smelled and tasted as though they were bad and spoiling lobster bisque taste like fishy tomato soup the asparagus was undercooked and hard very fibery the filet mignon tasted as though it was over seasoned over salty very professional staff wine staff servers but the food the quality sucks ass to say the least

Had dinner at the other location last week. Great experience but not the best. This week, we had New Year's Eve dinner at this location. Perfectly wonderful! Our server, Krystal, was amazing. She was professional yet personable and she made our experience perfect. The food was amazing, as always. We had the Chilean sea bass, half a dozen oysters, the Fuji apple salad, Au Gratin potatoes and the absolutely wonderful bananas foster cake. Everything was so good! The drinks were also much better than the other location. The bartender really knows how to make a drink. I had an amazing lemon drop. This will be the only location we visit when we come to Austin. Eddie V's is still my favorite restaurant in the world.

I will continue to eat here. The food is Great, the atmosphere is Great. We thought happy hour extended into the dinning area, however Happy Hour is only at the Bar. I recommend using the Valet for parking and making reservations if you go.

Disappointed once again. Austin location just does not meet the standard of most Eddie Vs I've visited. San Antonio, Dallas and Scottsdale locations are all 5 Twice now I've had poor service on a busy Friday night had to stop another waiter to ask for a drink, or my check. I went back after a bad experience the night of University of Texas graduation but once again NOT IMPRESSED. Sub par service and over cooked food.

Service was excellent but I had better steak and seafood elsewhere in Austin....especially for the price. I felt like the prices were about 20% higher than a nearby competitor but the food was not 20% more delicious. Valet parking is nice. Close walk to many of the downtown attractions.

So my wife scheduled a reservation on my Birthday which happen to land on a Saturday this year. I was so excited to visit Eddie V's for the first time. I had heard so much about the excellent food. But I will be honest I am having trouble with this review. Its now the middle of the night and I cant sleep. I want to give the place the benefit of the doubt and give them a high rating , but I keep thinking about how disappointed i am. Should I give only 2 stars or should I give 4. Definitely not 5. Sorry Eddie! So here's the review.

We arrive exactly on time at 6:45, practically race across town to do so, only to be told that 6:45 was the check in, not the actual time of the reservation. At 7:30 we were finally seated. On our way to our table I spotted two booths for couples, and said i would prefer a booth. We were told that you have to request them in advance. Since this is my first time here, how exactly would we know that? So we sat at our loud table for two, more longish, so intimate conversation was impossible, across from another couple, sharing in their conversation, and they sharing in ours. Not cool....

GOOD:
So I order a wonderful bottle of Caymus Conundrum. Chilled Perfectly, and 2 half dozen oysters, 6 Thatch, and 6 Blue. Both were excellent, and the Shallot sauce was a great surprise.

GOOD:
Then the Crab Cake arrives, Its huge! Very tasty. So things are going well and I am forgetting about the booth situation. And I do like the couple next to us, and enjoy eavesdropping on their plans for the night, but really a private dinner is not what either of us is getting.

GOOD:
Then the Walnut salad arrives and it is split for my wife and I, very very delicious.

GOOD:
And finally the entree's arrive. My wife has the scallops, which were also excellent. And we got a huge side of Mac and Cheese, and a huge side of Brussel Sprouts. The Mac was great, i personally am not a fan of Brussel's, that's an order for my wife! She like them!

Horrible:
At the suggestion of Alex I order the off menu TOMAHAWK RIB EYE. I order Medium rare, but Alex tells me they recommend Medium, and the medium will have all pink inside because it is a big cut. So i go with Medium. When the steak comes it is well done, with no pink anywhere. So literally for the first time in my life! No seriously, first time ever I sent it back. I mean $100 freaking dollars. It needs to be perfect, right? So they bring back a new steak and its is braised on the outside and rare on the inside. I should have kept the well done Steak. So I was expecting a 45 day dry aged gorgeous piece of meat. Melt in your mouth falls off the bone. What I got was a fatty, rare steak that was almost impossible to chew. with tendons running throughout the meat. The worst steak I have ever had. Of course i am not going to send this steak back, no way, I was already embarrassed the first time.

I mean here it is at 3 in the morning and I am so pissed. I was totally ripped off . Everything else was perfect, but this steak ruined my birthday dinner. $100 bucks brought home to my dog! I am sure tomorrow afternoon it will warn up nicely for her.

Oh, and after the first couple finished their meal a new couple arrived, and this time they had someone close the window dividers. So the new couple could have some privacy. If only I had known! Chalk that up to another first time rookie experience.

So you can see my dilemma. Do i give Eddie a 4 star and just forget about the worst steak of my life, because everything else was wonderful, or do i give Eddies a 2 star because i got ripped off on a $100 piece of really bad meat. So I settled for 3 stars on the review. And I think that's the moral to this story. I settled! With the dozens of "5" star restaurants in Austin, why do i have to settle for mediocrity! At $383 plus $10 for valet. Really? Been there done that. I wont be back.

Great Old Fashioned, had a seafood tower which was really good. The filet and salmon were perfect. Only thing is the service was a bit off, but I m thinking mostly due to everyone trying to regroup from coming back after COVID-19. Manager on duty was very nice.

This is hands down my new favorite restaurant. I am a born and raised Chicago girl that has had the opportunity to dine at some of the top restaurants and best food Chicago has to offer. Nothing compared to Eddie V s! The atmosphere (there is a live music option or a traditional dining room) was intimate and regal yet- very inviting. Upon checking in without a reservation-the hostess asked where we would like to sit, I jokingly responded whichever side the bathroom is by (we had just flown in from O Hare and I had consumed three water bottles). We were seated promptly and the waiter made sure to point out exactly where the restroom was. Each member of the staff was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. My boyfriend tried the Savage Blonde oysters which after the initial taste he ordered 3 more. We both tried the heirloom tomato salad which was seasoned to perfection with juicy ripe tomatoes. My main course consisted of King Crab Legs which were served already split for ease of eating. My boyfriend had the filet (cooked to a perfect medium rare) with the South African Lobster tail. I tried his lobster tail and it was sweet and full of flavor-he didn t even use any butter. The best part was at the end our waiter brought us a complimentary Bananas Foster dessert to welcome us to Austin-which was nothing short of perfection on a spoon. We are here for the weekend and already made reservations for Saturday night. Outstanding is an understatement!

I just love this place. Their food and service are probably the best I've had in Austin. If you are going during the weekend make sure and call ahead for a reservation, or you will be waiting for a while. It's a little upscale but for that special date night, you can't go wrong.

Incredible in every way! Get the Gatsby sour for a drink! It's delicious. And the Ribeye was the best steak I've ever had. And the bananas foster was unreal. Really... Just an amazing night out. Highly recommended!

Have visited about twice a year for 4 years, and have never had anything that is not perfectly prepared. Prefer sitting in bar so can listen to always different music groups they bring in, which also never disappoint. Waiters are knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend for a special night out.

We went here for Valentine's Day, so take this review with a grain of salt since it wasn't a regular night. Also, I have a shellfish allergy and was pretty limited to what I could enjoy on the menu. I opted for the 8 oz filet and was kind of disappointed. It was smothered in peppercorns to the point where it almost wasn't enjoyable. The staff and servers were very attentive and 5-star. My husband loved all of his food including the lobster bisque, but felt that their Flounder special was just covered in too much sauce. The molten chocolate Godiva cake totally redeemed the evening for me. Overall, for the price I wouldn't go back.

The atmosphere and service was excellent. The food is high in quality and taste, expensive but worth every bite/drink. This restaurant should be on everyone's list to eat and experience

First time to Eddie V's to celebrate 17 years with my husband a couple weeks back!! The whole experience from start to finish was nothing short of amazing. I've been to many nice restaurants to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I've never seen a restaurant go above and beyond as they did at Eddie V's. From rose petals and a hand signed card from the whole staff on the table to a champagne toast and the Most spectacular dessert we've ever had. (Bananas Foster!)The service was impeccable and the food was delicious as well. We will most definitely be back!

Really good. Tuna tar tar was amazing. I had the halibut for the main course the fish was cooked to perfection but the sauce was flavorless. I should have got scallops for possibly Lobster. Overall a great experience I would eat here again

We came here before the IHeart CountreyFest and it did not disappoint! I ordered a steak and wow it was amazing! You order side seperate and we got 3 different to try and again amazing.. you can leave this place without having the banana foster for dessert OMG! They have an extensive wine list and they have a bar while you wait.. definitely get reservations! And it is pricey but worth it for a great start to a night on the town!

We were treated to Dinner here Saturday night after my wedding. I had never been before and was extremely excited to be here. The Staff did not disappoint. They went Above and Beyond to satisfy our EVERY need! This made my Wedding Day even more extraordinary. They were very on top of social distancing protocol.
We will definitely be back again! I highly recommend Eddie V s

Food was delicious but for the prices they should really step up the standards around this place. My wine glass was dirty with things crusted onto it. Then when I ordered my wine they gave me a previously opened one that tasted old and didn't even replace my glass when they saw me trying to clean it. One of the bathroom door locks was broken too. Then my friend and I ordered the swordfish. They brought out her fillet first and it looked amazing (like a perfect 5/6 oz portion) and then brought mine out and was literally half the size of hers. I'd been given the most pathetic 3 oz sliver of fish I've ever seen and they even served it right next to hers who had double the amount. I actually had to stop for food afterwards. No point in paying 35 bucks for 3 ounces of swordfish when I can get a fresh pound at the store for less than that. Waste of time and money for unfair portions, but tasted good.

We called ahead of time to reserve a table for three so we would'nt wait in line ..Well turns out we get there and had to wait an additional 15-20mins..
The waiter was really nice and knowledgeable about the food selections, and made sure to check on us often
The food was not all that honestly, as I was expecting it to be much better for the price ..

The happy hour prices here are very reasonable - dollar oysters are the big draw for me. The atmosphere is very business-like. Good place to take clients. Don't wear a t-shirt or you'll feel out of place.

Truluck's was within walking distance of our hotel, J W Marriott. We had the best service! We ordered a cup of Lobster Bisque (some of the BEST we've had), an appetizer of calamari, and crab legs with sides of Parmesan Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. Everything was superb!!! Excellent choices. The atmosphere was perfectly lit, making it easy to read the menu but dim enough for a perfect ambiance. Highly recommend!!
