Had my first meal in Austin here on Valentines night. Showed up without any reservations and they sat us in 5 mins. The service was great. Food was amazing. We got steak and fish and oysters.

Such great food and service! Was here for a larger team event for about 18 people so we had a private room. Had a 22 oz prime rib that was delicious. The lobster mash potatoes are a must have. For dessert they recommended a banana something. I'm usually not a banana dessert person but they said it was highly rated and I was not disappointed.

Still a wonderful option for fine dining downtown. We felt very welcome and not rushed. The steak tartare is delish along with the chowder! The halibut and scallops were cooked to perfection. It was our anniversary so we had a couple of freebies from the chef! All good, we will celebrate here again.

I really enjoyed this place. I've been for happy hours and dinners. Sometimes finding seating for happy can be difficult, but their oysters are pretty good. The dinner menus have a pretty good selection and their wait staff is also pretty good.

Eddie V's is always a good evening. The northeastern oysters are always excellent as is the fish entrees and the steaks are as good as any Steakhouse you can find. It's my wife's and mine favorite go to restaurant

I'm a big fan of the Sea bass here. The truffle Mac and cheese and potatoes au gratin are also perfection. Great service. Even though Erik is the greatest waitor there, the entire service staff is top notch. Great wine list as well.

My husband and I went to this restaurant for our one year anniversary. Our waiter was awesome! He remembered my name and also had Happy Anniversary on the table!!! The food was very well prepared and the taste was spectacular! I have ate at the one in Houston, Texas and had the same great experience!

If I'm downtown, I'll go, but I don't make a point to hang out here since there's a location in the Arboretum. The food is excellent, and happy hour prices really can't be beat. Great service and drinks, too, and they offer valet parking.

I LOVE happy hour at this place! They have AMAZING crab cakes that are half price on happy hour, and their margaritas aren't too shabby either. It's one of my favorite "special-occasion" spots.

All day happy hour on Sunday and Monday is awesome. Brandon and Gary begins the bar are an all star team. Crab and corn chowder, kung pow calamari, and the wedge are great starters. My only knock against them is they moved all their cuts to bone in which means the price goes up and the cook doesn t always hit the mark if you re looking for a good medium rare.

Quite an enjoyable dinner! The steaks (filet mignon & tomahawk ribeye) were terrific. The South African lobster tail was just okay. The shrimp very very good. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and great at communicating how each menu item was prepared. One star off for the items not arriving as they had been described (scallops were supposed to be bacon wrapped but weren't, asparagus arrived without the hollandaise sauce). Prices are very high though so look up the menu beforehand.

The staff at Eddie V's is top notch. We have never had a bad experience here. Whether you want to drop in for happy hour, just go for appetizers (our normal plan, because we love oysters), or sit down for a full meal, you will not be disappointed.

All I got to say is, WOW! Hands down, one of the best steakhouses I've been to! From the great customer service to the warm bread on the table, I was satisfied with my visit. For my entree I got the USDA Prime New York Strip Au Poivre. The flavor was out of this world. The peppercorn that's encrusted throughout gives it a rich and a bit of spicy flavor. It was amazing. For dessert I got the Hot Chocolate Godiva Cake and it was amazing too. It was the perfect flavor: not too sweet and not too dull. It's very similar to a lava cake. Amazing experience and I will be back again!

I've been several times and the food is always awesome. Some of the very best in town. A little less on the frilly stuff and a little more on wonderfully cooked and balanced dishes with better portions than you see at most high end places. Last night I took my parents for their anniversary and can't say enough about the service. Honestly blown away. The extra details were thoughtful. Great job and thank you to Gabriel and the whole staff. I'll definitely be back.

Amazing happy hour, awesome oysters, service is always exceptional. If you're looking for Steak and Seafood in Austin this is a great option. Also great for business dinners and they have some great private rooms.

They had a good jazz band playing at just the right volume to have dinner and a couple of their nice cocktails. Upscale food that everyone enjoyed. You dont have to wear a suit and tie, but you'll look a little out of place in a t shirt.

Best happy hour in town, hands down!

Best happy hour in town, hands down!

Tuna tartar, calamari, crab cakes, lobster bisque and each for under $9?

Unheard of, and they also have a jazz quartet every Sunday and Monday night.

Though it is downtown, it is easy to valet, hop in, grab a bite or ten and sip on a few drinks.

The service here is always 5*, whether you're in a suit or in yoga pants. It is a place I will go again and again.

It is VERY relaxing.

We dined here twice in a week and it was terrific. Both times I had spectacular steaks that were so big I could not finish. All the sides and apps were delicious as well. Next time I am going to go for the seafood because that is really what Eddie V's is renowned for! I will definitely go back.

May be the best meal and service I have had in my 60 years of life. Really that good.

Alex and the entire staff really spoiled us with an outstanding experience for our 25th anniversary. An exceptional ribeye steak and succulent scallops cooked to perfection, the freshest oysters, the best crab cake we've EVER had and a magnificent bananas foster dessert rounded out an evening that we will never forget. MANY THANKS to Alex and his team for "knocking it out of the park".

I know the biggest complaint on these reviews is price but it is definitely worth the visit if you re in the mood for some seafood. The service was non stop pleasant (thanks Gina!) from entry to sitting down. The drinks were strong and quick for such a busy place. I was feeling adventurous and tried the swordfish steak. The wife and I ordered the calamari and lobster tacos which of you only get one get the tacos! I tried some of the wife s lobster tail and it was gone before I blinked, so delicious! For sides I recommend the truffle macaroni or the crab fried rice. And if you still have room for dessert definitely get the banana foster, it will sweat out loud , it s that good.

They do offer valet and it's your best bet because parking around here is awful. You will have the choice of sitting in the bar/lounge area or the dining room. I believe they also have a private dining area for events or special celebrations. We initially chose to sit in the bar which is dimly lit by candles and had live music but, we quickly changed our minds when we realized that we couldn't hear each other and didn't want to shout the entire time. The dining room is large and the seating at the tables were more comfortable than the lounge area.

We started with a bottle champagne and ordered half a dozen east coast oysters, a shrimp cocktail and a wedge salad split between us. The oysters were fresh and chilled to the perfect temperature but, I have had better oysters at other places around Austin. The shrimp cocktail was one of my favorite things; the shrimp were large and the fresh horseradish and that white creamy sauce were addicting. Be careful though and use the horseradish sparingly because it is hot. I wish the wedge salads would have had chopped bacon on it instead of pieces just laying over the top. The dressing was delicious and the portion size was split onto two plates for us and is easily shareable.

I had the filet oscar style served over asaparagus and he had the filet and lobster tail. The steaks were cooked to the temperature that we ordered. The filets were high quality and you can taste where the price comes from. The oscar was a large portion size of crab and worth adding to the top of the steak and the asparagus was well seasoned. He said the lobster was sweet, fresh and cooked to the perfect balance of soft and not overdone. The drawn butter was done right and I always appreciate when the lemon has a net over it to catch the pulp and the seeds.

For dessert we had the butterscotch panna cotta and the creme brulee. I really enjoyed the creme brulee and the fresh berries on top of it. The panna cotta didn't wow me at all but, he enjoyed it. The price tag was almost $400.00 with the tip but, so worth it. After two and a half hours of eating to our hearts content and washing it down with champagne we finally left.

Impeccable service, Eli was outstanding. The red snapper special was superior to the red snapper on the regular menu. Only knock, my red snapper had a bit of dark flesh on the fillet when served. Not what I expect from this type establishment. I would eat here again.

Absolutely amazing! Started with the seafood tower, which was delicious, then moved on to the ribeye. I was torn in my decision because I've heard so many great things about the seafood, but the steak was delicious! Great atmosphere, awesome service, definitely will dine here again. Highly recommend!

Family favorite and always a great place for a celebration. The service sets this place apart. The bar has great happy hour with half price oysters, drinks and appetizers. There's also sweet live music (jazz or something smooth).

Just ok. I've been to Eddie V's 4 times, and my experiences have all been similar: Service: Always great. The servers do a great job explaining the specials, menus, making recommendations for pairings etc. Food: mediocre at best. I've tried several cuts of dry aged beef, chicken, shrimp, and lobster there. On our last visit, I ordered the double chicken breast and while the dressing was good, the chicken was dry. Additionally, we got potatoes au' gratin, and the potatoes were hard; not cooked all the way through. Drinks: Cocktails are definitely not craft. I order Old Fashioned there, and they still muddle an orange into the drink if that tells you anything. To top it off, you have to pay for valet parking. They're stepping over dollars to pick up pennies, and it diminishes the experience. Ok overall experience, given the prices, slightly below mediocre.
