I was just come in in five minutes and I drank a shot at the bar. But I was a little bit hurry and I cannot control myself to throw it out a little. And then, the security just knick me out. That s my first shot. It s so terrible, and I never have this kind of experience before. It s a terrible club!!!

Lovely stage and outside area, with very reasonable pricing for drinks! Been coming here 6 years and they're always consistent and friendly. Lastly it is one of the most safest venues I've ever been to.

Went to see DaDa life on may 12th, 2018. Parking price has gone up since the last time I went for a show. Your better off parking on the street. There was a price issue for tickets in advance. The website said tickets would be $30 bucks online, $35 at the door. That is wrong. Online prices range from $30-40, $40 bucks at the door. Water is $5 bucks per 12 oz. Bottle. This will be my last time going to echostage. Love the venue, but it cost too much for parking, tickets, drinks inside. It all adds up.

In truth I don't go to a lot of events simply because they are at Echostage. Positives- plenty of bathrooms (NYC warehouses take notes!!) . Bars are pretty accessible. But I like the European model where every venue should have a spot to sit for a moment. A girl might just need a break in heels and you shouldn't have to only buy VIP to do it. I like how Mansion in MIA does it. They have a few round couches. It would be nice to have the back row in the top middle open to the public or at least the walk way to get from one side to the other. Its kinda a pain that I can't see my other friends in other VIP sections. Sometimes we aren't fortunate enough to have tables all together but part of the joy of coming out and spending that much money is seeing your friends.. Shouldnt be so hard. Of course my favourite large venue stateside.. Crobar Miami & Avalon NYC so.. I'm a tough crowd.

Didn't have the best experience here. The performer I went to see was great, but the staff was rude. They didn't have coat checks that night, and wouldn't let me leave to put my coat in the car (no re-entry). Ended up leaving my phone there and had to contact them a couple days later during business hours, and again the person over the phone was rude! Seemed incredibly uninterested and who knows if he even looked to see if my phone was in lost and found. I understand that they have to deal with annoying drunks and druggies but decent customer service shouldn't go out the window.

WARNING! All Active Duty Service Members. The security staff does not do a well enough drug screening. Me and my spouse had to leave before the main event (Skrillex) even came on the stage because the amount of people slipping by with smoking items that are most likely is marijuana or spice. This place need dogs before going in. Came here on a 4 hour trip for a gift from my spouse and it was all a waist. I should have done my research to see if this place was off limits to military. If not it's should be on that list. Not worth the trip, time, and money if all the years I spent on my career in the service is throw it all away.

I've been to two concerts here and had a good experience. Security is friendly, drinks are not overpriced and the dancefloor is really big. The only thing that irritates me a little is that they cannot give accurate information about the timing of shows.

I absolutely love this venue! I've been twice for Above&Beyond and most recently for Armin Van Buuren. All 3 times were wonderful. Intimate setting with huge headliners Parking was a breeze each time!

What i got was late door openings with the most rude employees Ive ever dealt with ("i dont care" attitudes). The concert started 3 hours after it was scheduled and the crowd was really rowdy. Thats when, at this supposed ALL AGE EVENT, people were passing out left and right without proper help . There were young children in the audience. People were grabbing each other, hitting each other, and having a small riot of sorts in the crowd. There wasnt enough workers to take care of the people passing out and having panic attacks. I couldn't enjoy ONE bit of the performances going on due to several people around me crying, screaming for help, or falling to the ground. My friend was kicked out after he complained about the situation in the crowd. The sound system was HORRIBLE. You couldnt hear anything clearly so i guess the name echostage is clearly fitting. I hope this place is investigated and that things like this will be taken seriously in the future. I will be hoping for a refund.

Great venue with awesome lighting. Bathrooms were surprisingly not that dirty atleast when I went there. The venue is awesome, but the surrounding area is a bit shady so beware. Drinks are also very expensive usually.

Saw Steve Aoki and Flux Pavilion here. I gotta say the venue is dope and the crowd is awesome. I read tons of reviews mentioning over crowding and I can definitely see how that would happen and how packed it can be. In my experience it wasn't that bad and the overall all vibe and presence of the whole thing was awesome and definitely worth going and checking out. It is in a sort of shady area but there are a bunch of cops that just chill around. If you're getting a Lyft or Uber definitely go to the 711 or Exon cause I don't believe cops were letting people get picked up in front of the echostage. Other then that hit up the 711 for cigs cause they're cheaper there then surrounding stations. The beer was like 5-9 bucks and the shots are 10 a pop. Definitely one of the best clubs I've been to and I'm from Miami.

Best place in the DC area to go to music shows. Yes the area around the place might feel a little sketchy, parking is expensive around the place, and the metro no longer runs past midnight so finding a ride home might be expensive if you did drink. But the shows themselves are a lot of fun, its a huge room and people gather and jump up and down. Its a good time with friends. I will mention that it is not fun waiting in line to get in when the weather is bad. Also, drinks are really expensive, but in the spur of the moment you might not mind dropping the money for the drinks :).

Whoever runs their email system for VIP is awful, was supposedly booked for a table ahead of time through emails and when we got there we weren't on the list. They also had children in the VIP alchohol section

The venue itself, once inside, is a modern, clean small venue. No major complaints.

However, what lets this venue down is its location. It is situated in an industrial estate. Normally not a problem, however, the only classy place, is the gentlemans club next door. After that, the neighborhood is run down, broken windows etc. Parking is a complete nightmare, with parking touts basically vying for business which is nothing more than using the local business parks around about. The place does not give off any sort of safe vibe.

We parked about a 15minute walk away, in a residential neighborhood, behind the police station. It was a completely different tone from the venue, and after reading the reviews here on Google, were confident that all windows and wheels would still be there after the gig. Which they were. Even if you do decide to throw your luck in with the parking, there was a huge amount of queues to get out as its only a small road, at the end of a traffic light letting people out.

There is no catering outside the fast food places (MacDonalds, KFC, DunkinDonuts) that is around the corner.

Advice: get someone to drop you off and pick you up at MacDonalds and you will have a great night.

I went to see Twenty One Pilots (for the 3rd time) at Echostage on September 8th for the Blurryface tour. The concert was amazing, but the environment was very, very sketchy. It's in the middle of probably one of the fewest spots that people venture through DC. (AKA, it was a warehouse area.) The staff was seemed cool. As we were waiting in line 4 hours before the doors opened, they were giving out free water this day, because the heat outside was un-Godly. Although, once we got inside the venue, the AC was on very low. They barely turned in up for the capacity of the people in the venue. (4,000 people). Also, once the opening act, Finish Ticket, jumped on stage, everyone was pushing their way toward the stage, which I expected, but I also expected for security to take care of the matter or at least alert the artist of what was going on. People were getting crushed, some started to faint, and I could have sworn multiple fights were about to break out because of the pushing and security was just standing there. (But they jumped in the crowd and almost elbowed my head trying to escort some kid out for using a Go Pro...) All and all, I enjoyed my time there. I saw one of my favorite bands play and learned a new technique on avoiding crazy crowds, but I would not suggest someone to go see a concert here. You can tell this place was made, specifically, for an EDM concert or late night shows, or Dubstep shows, shows like those, but if you wanna catch a band like Twenty One Pilots or anything else like that, trying catching them at another venue.

Great lighting and sound system. Networked POS systems (you can add drinks to your bar tab from any bartender in the venue). Crowd is always friendly and there to party. No dress code to worry about. VIP tables offer a good view of the stage and the crowd, as well as being separated from the general population for a real "VIP" feeling.

Been there multiple times for concerts, and loved it everytime! The atmosphere is amazing! Their sound system will blow your head off, lol. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is, this place is 18+ and they sell alcohol inside, meaning I have seen a lot of under 21 people (with X on their hand) drinking alcohol. But other than that I love this place. Will go back again.

Echostage was and is the only Megaclub in DC area ...

Echostage was and is the only Megaclub in DC area since Buzz closed down. With that you expect to see world class DJ's and spectacular ever-evolving light show. That is Saturdays. The rest of the so called "shows" that take place on some other nights is not what this place is all about and only there to bring some more revenues for the place.

Sound system is good, but only at it's sweet spot which is in the middle toward the back of the room. The rest is not calibrated to feel the base. So if you into holding the DJ booth's metal railing, you will not hear base that well or feel music. If you don't know what I just said, don't worry about it as your ears would not know the difference.
Drinks are insanely expensive. In May of 2019 vodka shots were $14 and red bull vodka $24.
Crowd is polite as very common for EDM, trance and house shows. If you going for some other show there ignore my last statement.
Place has lost it's popularity among 25-40 year old crowd, but unfortunately they are what brings money to the club. So you get younger crowd which pregames and drinks water. Again music dictates the crowd and so you may find different age group if music is more along house or trance vs anything goes EDM style. But if some basketball player, former model or actor from comedy show in NJ decides that they are also DJ's now, then expect similar level aficionados of music to be present.

I was there for David Guetta s Concert. Concert was supposed to start at 9:00 pm but DJ showed up at 12:00 and it was worth the wait. This place is amazing. Great lights, big space and the sound setup is just awesome. I ll definitely recommend this place.

I have attended a dozen concerts or more at Echo over the years. This really is a hell of a venue if you love the mainstream EDM scene. TL;DR below.

What echo does right- reasonable enough nightclub drink prices (Still $8-14 for rail drinks), huge soundsystem (you will leave hoping you wake up without tinnitis), nice visuals (great in front AND back), big name artists play here (pretty much every week), huge bathrooms (short lines if any even whwn packed), they plate late (3-4am show end times typical, no other venue around Maryland or Virginia seemingly allows this.

What Echo does wrong:
1) Oversell the floor; big name shows that sell out, you feel like a sardine, and you cannot escape it without hitting the bathroom or near the front gate (where you cannot see the show).
2) Shirtless people; it s gotten worse over the years to the point where you actually need to anticipate brushing up on sweaty shirtless people every time you go, especially if in the back.
3) loudness of speakers; only a problem in front, but this is the loudest it will ever get, at any concert. They have festival sized speakers, indoors. You will likely permanantly damage your ears if you come here often and stand directly in front of them.
4) Audio technical preferences; this one is a personal issue with the sound quality on some shows, the kick drum is entirely too overwhelming, to the point where it s negatively affecting the quality of the music. I don t believe it s the artist, I ve seen Armin 4 times here and his sound was awesome at Echo 3/4 times, but 1 time the bass was completely messed up due for the whole show due to a blaring kick drum. I found this true also at my last A&E concert.

TL;DR : Great venue to get cranked, have a good time with a girlfriend or friends and dance to loud music late into the night. Not a great venue if you are sober, claustrophobic, don t like extreme loud noise, flashing lights, bumping into dozens of people, or shows ending at 4am.

I should've known better just by looking at the 'street view' of this place... Go here at your own risk in every way - even inside the venue isn't safe. The security they hire are the most unprofessional in the business and like to knock people over for no apparent reason without apologizing. Worst concert experience ever. Bartenders are good.

Club with a traditional "concert hall" layout - big stage up front with a large, open dancefloor and bars running the length along the sides. Best visuals (lights, lazers, led boards, etc) of any venue in DC. Usually hosts trap, dubstep, trance, or edm artists. Crowd is usually on the younger side and is often a mix of well informed serious fans of the djs performing and also just groups of people wanting a fun night out who might not know the djs or the music that well. Vibe is usually pretty "plurry" / ravey depending on the act performing but if you are going to see a big name trap, edm, or trance dj you will definitely see a lot of people dressed in full festival attire. Super fun place.

If you're short like me then expect to have people hit you in the face constantly and have multiple drinks spill in your face trying to get through the crowd. If you lose your friends and try to leave, good luck to you. My friend was in a yellow neon jacket and staff refused to let me simply take a peak over the railing from the second floor to pin point them so I could leave. I even asked if they could take a peak for me and they refused. Got hit in the face a total of 3 times and had 5 drinks spilled on me and spent more than an hour trying to find my friends so I could drive them home. Music was decent and bar tenders on the first floor were nice. There was too many people to enjoy anything.

Tickets for David Guetta. Starts at 9 pm. Get there at 8:15 and parking is $40. Woah. Found cheapest was $30 even tho sign says $20. Argued but no budge. In line and we were not let in until 9:20.was searched but they allow people to bring in backpacks and rucksacks. Security told me they search everything but still didn t make me feel safe seeing people walking around with large bags and backpacks. DJ played music when we arrived. $5 for coat check. Again tickets said 9 pm on December 30 but David Guetta didn t start performing until after midnight on December 31. Show over at 2 am. Less than 90 minutes of performer for $62 ticket, $30 parking and $5 coat check. Drinks were $10-$14 each. Also lots of weed and other drugs being consumed inside venue. Security doesn t care and police won t do anything about it other than saying welcome to the city . Don t recommend and can t get me to go back.

Cool venue: large main dance floor with bars running along both sides, has a 2nd level VIP sort of thing

Has coat check (~$5 for the show I went to, tip: take pic of your coat claim ticket)

Alcohol on the expensive side (don't remember specifics but was music concert prices)

Plan your departure ahead of time since end-of-night crowd congests traffic and surges ride-hail prices

Stay hydrated, remember ear protection, have fun & get wild~
