East Valley YMCA Review

The east valley Family YMCA is clean, bright and welcoming.

Okay. Some programs aren't very good, they don't really teach you. Facility is pretty good. Swimming program is good, but basketball and soccer are okay.

The guy being trained had no idea RE: membership discounts for Military/Veterans. The lady sitting next to him was on her cellphone, obviously too engaged in her conversation for more than 10 minutes to give me the time of day, RE: my inquiry RE: $69 monthly memberships and discounts for Veterans... so, I left.

I had a buddy who I introduced to working out at the gym, and he fell in love with lifting weights immediately... so much that he became employed as a Lifeguard for this YMCA, but my disappointment with these 2 YMCA Personnel left me uninterested... POOP!

Very long waiting line. About 1 hour and still no support. The staff at the info desk kept repeating their computers are slow. He was standing around doing nothing. Guess what they have slow computers / system in San Jose city LOL. Saw a swimming teacher playing with kids in the far corner, looking not so decent.

The gym here is well maintained and is fairly clean. You can also find most equipment that you may want to use for a workout, including barbells, power rack stations, and a deadlift station. There is also a swimming pool for those who are seeking a place to swim, and there are plenty of treadmills for the cardio junkies.

My only criticism of the place is that it is fairly small, and there are days where finding stations, free equipment, and spots to workout is fairly difficult, if not impossible sometimes.

I like the online sign up process. They have kids activities that we like. Close to home. Warm staff members. Thumbs up!

Poor system and management. Came into the front desk many times to apply swimming class for my kid but look like they don t care about you and want to kick you out. Tried to get waiting list and finally got a call from the leader YMCA. She said she have one class available and just come to class even not make payment yet. Tomorrow morning I call the front desk to confirm my kid s class and the front desk said I can come to make payment today or tomorrow that s fine. That s evening after work I come to the front desk make payment right away because I know this place too hard to register. And What the surprise they said the Class was full and no waiting list. They tried to ask someone in charge but not sure, even they charged my money with the class was full on the system. Somethings wrong about this place. Can t trust and don t think they have a good lesson. At the end they told me to call the manager to ask what going on. Off course, I know I will talk with the voice mail. I don t know what to say...Do they think they have low prices and they can treat with customers the same? Just get out of this place

EV Family YMCA Staff have gone above and beyond to provide an invaluable learning experience for my children. Each day, they have come home smiling and ready to share with me stories of the activities they did and the friends they made. When I pick them up, I am greeted in a friendly way by the camp staff and I can see that they have gotten to know my children and appreciate having them there. My family and I will continue participating in this summer camp every year. Thank you so much for your hard work! I know it hasn't been easy during these unprecedented times and I appreciate all the thought and energy you have all put into creating a loving community for the children who attend camp at East Valley YMCA.

At EVFYMCA, we have culture. There're lots of different activities, and for honored citizens like me, with arthritis, we have a pool that we can exercise in, to take the strain off our joints. Moreover, if you have limited resources, you can apply for, and receive membership at a reduced rate.
I am elderly, with arthritis, so I enjoy going to the Aqua Fitness classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have become close with many of my fellow classmates. I also go on other days to the wellness center where I know a few members and I enjoy talking with some of the wellness coaches.

I have been a member for over 6 years. They keep the place very clean and have many free classes.

Coming from a single parent who has come in to the YMCA to apply for financial aid for a membership for just MYSELF they were extremely rude by giving me nothing but the run around. I would NOT advise anyone to get a membership here solely based upon how I was treated. I did not go there asking for any thing for free I just wanted to see if I could possibly get my membership fee wavied and pay like everyone else per month, but I'll sacrifice and take my EARNED money elsewhere and get a real gym membership. Thanks for absolutely nothing.

This place treated my 3 year old son poorly in the childcare also this place has long lines and couple rude inconsiderate staffs especially in the childcare area so be careful they treat kids differently in there.

Kao is very rude and not level headed when dealing with problems.

This place is to overpriced, costumer service is okay.

I lost my locker key here and the staff on duty were very helpful. Cynthia and Beni(Wellness Center) even searched the trash bin while Tony tries to use their control key to open the locker (which did not work). Mind you, my everything was in that locker - including my car key to go home! 5 min before they close, Tony informed me that Beni found the key in one of the leg press machines - which only shows that he properly closes the wellness center to even find a tiny key! Thank you - Cynthia, Tony and Beni!!!

Earlier that day, I came in with my son to add him under my membership. Tony helped me. Because I was in a special program, my son couldn t be added under my membership. However, Tony was still able to add my son in so he was able to utilize the daycare that same day!

Lastly, go see Beni if you need help at the wellness center. He has taught me how to use those dang machines properly which I m really thankful for because I could ve really done myself some damage instead of improvement! He s willing to help anyone!

And even though there are bad reviews on the day care, I have not encountered any bad things in there. The ladies are nice to me and my son. If my son needs me, one of the ladies comes to where I m at to inform me. My son doesn t want to leave the day care ... ever! You guys are really helpful for single parents like myself.

You guys deserve some fat raises! Thanks for exceeding my expectations.

This YMCA does the bare minimum of everything, especially when it comes to youth sports, and lots of fights break out on the basketball courts. Not the safest or best place especially for the amount of price you have to pay.

When I went to ymca yesterday Thursday, June 14 it was Disgusting I found 2 used pads on the shower and I found a blob of hair on the floor don t waste you money on this place also theirs naked woman all around the girls locker

Everytime I come there is an issue with their nationwide sysyem and they never recognize our membership. SAE is not much help at all as he just shrugs his shoulders like oh it shows in active sorry. Time to find a nee gym

Parking is pretty tight, outside is clean, people that work at the front office are welcoming, kind of sucks having to show I.D & sign in EVERY time we go, the coaches they have for their basketball program are great, know what they're doing, the kids love them, I've witnessed them change their patience with each age, I applaud them for being SUPER patient with the younger ages like 5-6 I mean some parents just drop off their kids & leave the facility(I've seen it too many times), some parents are present but stuck on their phones, kids get out of control wild, yet the coaches are as patient as they can be & I've seen them handle a lot of different situations very professionally with out anything escalating. Coach Faustino, Coach Daniel, Coach Emily are all really great my daughter has played for each of them in her past seasons & she really likes them.

Very horrible childcare at this ymca and it sucks they are really bad they need to hire better workers for childcare. The pregnant lady that works in childcare is very rude she needs to just go home

signed up for 3 day trial online and marked this location specifically. got an email saying drop by whenever. I get there and they no longer accept it because of some server issue? such a colossal waste of time that makes 24 hour fitness seem like the best gym out there.

p.s. the lobby isn't even open and you have to go to some convoluted entrances. cool!

This is a wonderful place. I've been a member for almost 12 years. My son loves it!

When I go work out each time, I feel very safe and comfortable there.

my problem was with the person who takes care of the children (Linda) I had to cancel my subscription for her, she has no patience or respect with the children always in a bad mood,And today I even throw away a teddy bear from my daughter! I would never recommend someone to go to this place where we pay for treating our children badly.

My mother is 91 years old and still going strong due to her membership at this facility. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Mom feels this is her extended family, as she has been coming for many, many years. There is a heated indoor pool that makes it especially nice for older people or those suffering with arthritis or related issues. There are graduated steps to enter the pool, plus a chair lift to help mobility impared utilize this pool. There are 2 pools, so it can accomodate athletic lap swimmers or the different water exercise classes. While mom is doing her water exercise class 3 times a week , I utilize the wellness facility, that includes weight machines for every muscle group, plus cycle machines, treadmills, row machines, and a variety of other equipment to meet any possible need. The staff is always eager to aquaint you with the optimal way to use the equipment. There are basketball courts, scheduled classes of every conceivable genre, plus showers and dressing rooms. The front lobby is spacious and accomodates special events or allows for sitting and enjoying the company of new friends.

I pay way too much for not-so-good customer service. Some of the front office staff will blatantly look at you and not say hello or goodbye- can we get a little customer service training please? The machines are nice, but I only go here because of my kids.

Good so far. But the guest wifi broken for couple weeks now. Talked to front desk and they said they do not know anything about the wifi at all and do not know who they can talk to neither! Manager, supervisor this needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

The staff is so bad. When i registered basketball for My son, i called to East Valley YMCA and they didn't let me know they put my son to YMCA at Berryesa, even i don't know where is Berryesa YMCA. My son has had swimming lesson at East Valley YMCA so i think he will study basketball at here too. I registered at the first day they let people started register 12/10/2018. My son was so excited waiting to learn basketball, he had to waiting 1 month, today 01/15/19 is first day, i is raining but he wanted to go basketball class. When we got there and waited 15 minutes when the class started, the coach didn't see his name on the list, we got out and found down the staff put his name in another location, it is facility's East YMCA. I was so mad because my son was upset. I asked where is facility's East Valley YMCA? Why they didn't let me know when I registered? and when they sent email to me but didn't write location that my son has to go to there for basketball lesson? In e-mail and receipt only write location at East Valley YMCA 1975 S White road. It is so bad.....so bad. Your guys hurt our feelings and madeup our schedule.
When I came to front desk to find down why my son didn't have name at East Valley YMCA and a staff told me wrong location and if you don't want go to there for basketball lesson I will refund to your card. ONG, it is so simple like that, looks like we are playing game.
Please learn how to service.

The staff is always friendly and my kids always look forward to going.

They need better workers for the childcare the people they have there watching our kids are not good at all especially the pregnant lady she got an attitude problem and she has a face problem she's nothing but drama bad experience for me

The manager Kao is very unprofessional! He is very rude. He doesn't know what it takes to be a manager of family oriented business! Probably better off going to get a membership at a gym! I'm going to corporate with my feedback!
